LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

The promotional pictures with neutral lighting show that the yellow markings of the commander should be slightly lighter than the pilot's. I think regular yellow for the commander and bright light orange only for the pilot was more accurate. -

Why did they have to changed the clone torso print... If the intention is to use one torso style for both, it needs to be based on the movies, where phase 1 and phase 2 armor look identical. That was the case with the 2013-2019 torso style. In the animated shows, phase 1 and phase 2 armor do look noticably different. The lower edge of the breastplate shows that Lego's 2020-2021 torso style is based on animated phase 2 armor. Since it neither looks like realistic phase 1/2 armor nor like animated phase 1 armor, it just doesn't look right for a phase 1 minifigure. -

At first I thought the details inside the cockpits of the Lego gunship were just wrong, because in the movie there was a glowing green display and the seat had a more pronounced headrest. However, the more simple control consoles with white covers as well as the black and white seats do seem to be accurate to the main CG model (1, 2), just not to the physical miniature that was used for the close-up shot. Clearly missing from the Lego version is the door that leads to the cockpit area. There just seems to be a hole instead. -

There's only one prequel set this year (that we know of) - the UCS Gunship. That's not a lot. -

But now that UCS boxes are just black and don't show a movie scene in the background anymore, the minifigure selection is basically the only thing that connects the set to a specific movie. -

Only Star Destroyers, Millennium Falcons and Death Stars are more expensive. I didn't count Cloud City (which is MBS). The Ewok Village was 100€ cheaper, the Sandcrawler 50€. The Gunship is more expensive than at least 21 other UCS sets. Not ideal if you're trying to test the demand. AFAIK the conical things on top that look like engines are the mass-driver missile launchers. -

I will... But since they decided to make this one of the most expensive UCS sets ever, I don't think it will sell as well as it could have. -

They already had a unified consistent look when TCW sets started to use the same accurate style as movie sets in 2015. Now they just look wrong and don't match any source material. -

I agree. His visor also seems to be black now instead of the accurate silver. -

Did they seriously use the torso print that's based on the animated version of phase 2 armor for a trooper who should wear the realistic version of phase 1 armor... -

The build looks great. Though I'm disappointed that there doesn't seem to be a net hanging from the ceiling of the passenger compartment. -

Here's what I'm expecting: - A remake of the RotLA Temple Escape, because it was a great playset - A small ToD set that makes use of the new elephant molds - The grail temple from LC, as it was an obvious omission - Jungle cutter & amphibious vehicle from KotCS, including some Soviet antagonists and the Crystal Skull -

Doesn't it seem unlikely that this kind of very specific details from confidential negotiations between Lego and Disney would leak this early? -

In my book any character who had a speaking role in a movie and/or looks cool deserves a minifigure, and characters that are visually interesting but don't fit in any set are prime candidates for a CMF series. Uhm... Especially Wat Tambor seems like a perfect choice to me. Apart from his movie appearances he was a key villain in some recent TCW episodes, he's of a species that has never been made as a minifigure so far, and he's a meme. -

Some well-known Jedi and Separatist Council members are left as well. -

I love historical adventure themes, but Lego hasn't really released anything like that since Indiana Jones, Prince of Persia, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Lone Ranger ended. A return of Indiana Jones would be most welcome. -
Awesome... except for the German set name. It doesn't match the German version of the "Everything is awesome" song, which I assume it's supposed to be a reference to. And considering the subject some will probably criticize it for using a masculine word form
-
That's the first time I hear of it. They were definitely available here.

Wait, what?
-
I did it first (kind of)

Do you mean additive? Though Lego can be pretty addictive indeed

Did he wear a gray suit in any of the Nolan movies? I thought the minifigures from the 2008 TDK and 2013 TDKR sets were just inaccurate. -
That's pretty hard to tell with pieces that are this small. Also, the ones that became yellow were not exposed to sunlight. They were in a box with other spare parts. The one used for comparison probably hasn't yellowed yet because it is the newest one I have, it's only three weeks old.
