  1. The best part of that movie was Jeff Goldblum saying 'boy do I hate being right all the time'
  2. He could at least have made it a believable photoshop, at current quality I'm astonished the judges didn't see it.
  3. I have the mail car for 7740 (two actually, one small one :D), but they are so damn expensive And I would like to keep this train passenger-only as it will probably be doing short laps on my track, with 7740 and 7745 for the 'longer distances' (soonâ„¢) - Sok.
  4. I'm pretty sure that this is not the case, the wheels are in perfect shape and it doesn't look as if they were ever damaged or repaired.
  5. I have four or five good ones, one that I opened and repaired that now runs really fast but noisy and two that run slower and with a lot of noise. - Sok.
  6. I have a few with red center pins, not found a pattern in their origin yet :)
  7. That's interesting, so with 4-5 motors with small loads (mostly standard LEGO trains with one or two extra cars) it should be fine?
  8. I guess I'll just have to test it. I have multiple LEGO power supplies but could switch to an offbrand one if needed.
  9. I'll have to test it, but what about running 4 or 5? The LEGO power supplies are old but it would be easy to buy or build a new one that is much more powerful. - Sok.
  10. I was thinking of just that, adding a second motor. Does that come with any weird consequences?
  11. I don't plan to run any trains more than 3 ft or so, so one motor should do then :)
  12. They've only ever been grey in one set, and that's this one :) You could get them in yellow, those are dirt-cheap and it might even improve the look of the train. I'm considering doing just that with my 7740, I don't mind the slight difference in colour if it yields me 50 bucks. - Sok.
  13. Hm, strange. I'll see if I can find a really bad one to experiment with :)
  14. Wow that photoshop was realy easy to spot even from the small pic. Can't believe the jury didn't notice that.
  15. I know about the wheel thing but I'd rather not replace them for originality's sake, but maybe a little grease here and there might help. I'd say that a slightly higher voltage (13-14v) would give the motor a nice boost in power without hurting it too much in the long term? - Sok.
  16. I'm planning to build a large track in the future (I have almost 100 meter worth of 12v track now), so would it make sense to buy a few more for that? I intend to power it with multiple leads from the same power supply, say every 10 meters or so. - Sok.
  17. Interference from the track to other devices or the other way around? And (how) does it 'help' the train? - Tim
  18. Nice review :)
  19. I have two of these: And there are several for sale on bricklink. What use are they exactly? Google doesn't help :( - Sok.
  20. Next task will be to give it front and rear lighting, and see if it will actually run at this length!
  21. I've added some parts and a load of building instructions that I don't need. - Sok.
  22. I have one complete 7740 that needs re-building, and a mail car for it, I think that'll be enough :) - Sok.
  23. I bought a full fledged extra car for my 7745 for 35 bucks, but building them yourself can be expensive, especially odd parts like the windows and doors :) - Sok.
  24. I built two more cars for my 7725 using spare parts and some items ordered off bricklink They're not 100% done yet, I'm waiting for one more batch of items including some tiles for the roofing. Total cost was about 40 bucks incl. shipping for two complete cars worth of parts. - Sok.
