  1. I have added the Sea Harrier to the Rebrickable database Thanks Grohl!
  2. Hi, have you taken a look on my site rebrickable? There are several supercar MOCs in the database already, you can look at what parts they used and whats leftover after cannibalising your existing sets.
  3. I have not asked him yet but have looked at this stuff and definitely want to :) Now that most of the functionality is working well, I'll spend more time on getting more sets in there. The official set data comes from Bricklink (with permission :) ). Its a combination of automated scripts and manual steps to check for errors, add tags to the sets, render all the new parts, identify mismatched part numbers (ldraw and bricklink dont agree all the time), normalise some parts/colors... etc. It does take a fair bit of time to do right, or the matching doesn't work as effectively as it could. Its a fun thing. I finally found a way to combine my two loves of LEGO and IT :) If I wasn't spending all my spare time on this, it would be something else.. I can't sit still ;) Having said that, if I found a way it could make money without annoying the users or designers then I'd consider it. Right now, I have amazon affiliate links so if someone buys from amazon after clicking one of my site links I get a small commission. However, I know from experience that it is very unlikely to make much. If it covers the cost of hosting the site that would at least make my wife happy :D So would I :) I have a backlog of quite a few which only have photo parts lists so they take quite a lot of time to enter in and check. I still have MOCs to be added from Anio, Grohl and Erik Leppen in the works. If any other MOC'ers out there want to be added to the database, please contact me :)
  4. 158 you hold the record so far it wont add sets that are not in the database, which I assume is the problem. But could you email me your file and I'll double check? support@rebrickable.com
  5. For now I'm only adding MOCs that have instructions (pdf or photo sequences). If you have some, I'd be glad to take a look! Fixed :)
  6. Not unless there are instructions everyone can access... I'm not saying I have a problem with him charging for them, just that it's not a fit for my site Maybe in the future I will add MOCs like this.
  7. Ah, thanks. Will fix that. I was trying to come up with a nice way of doing this but settled on the checkbox to include them all. Hopefully I can do something like you suggest, later. OK thanks for the feedback. Once you stare at something long enough its hard to see it from fresh eyes :) You see some of my incentive for creating the site ;) Especially with the annoying Aussie delivery fees! Already underway ;) Thanks Thanks
  8. All the way down in Australia here :)
  9. Thought it might be easier to answer all questions at once: At the moment, that label is applied to any part which exists in 10 or less official LEGO sets. It doesn't consider number of parts or popularity on Bricklink (yet!) Yep, I've noticed that. It's a recent problem as it used to work fine. Not sure what I broke just yet :) Yeah, I will be adding a filter on the search results so you can target particular themes/set types better. Not yet, but I want to eventually users to add invididual parts. I actually didn't realise peeron had this functionality until well after I had started, but I like mine better anyway :) I've spent a lot of time on performance and so hopefully my poor little server can cope! I know, so am I! I think LEGO do some checking before releasing a set to make sure noone can build it 100%
  10. Wow, didn't see this topic. Have been too busy finalising the user signon functionality (which is now live!) Thanks everyone for the feedback! For those that haven't figured this site out, it allows you to find sets and mocs that you can build from your existing sets. I have had great support from several MOC builders that I have reached out to, and so far have included a number of MOCs from Nico71, Jurgen Krooshoop, Crowkillers and Sariel with lots more to come soon. All MOCs on the site have building instructions I'll mention this once (don't want to sound spammy ), if you want to stay up to date with new features etc, you can subscribe to my facebook page, twitter or blog.
  11. I rendered all the part images via POVRay, but the problem is that some of them don't have LDraw equivalents so I have no CAD files to use for rendering. Or I just haven't found the equivalents yet ;)
  12. As did someone last night who decided to download thousands of images via some robot. Why make your own when you can copy someone else's
  13. Thanks, its nice to hear this and not have to constantly wonder if I'm the only one who will like this Always happy to take ideas on board, and add them to my huge todo list!
  14. It can import from Brickset (haven't uploaded that change yet). Haven't looked at Brickstore yet, but will do.
  15. Ahh shucks Yes, unlimited sets when you sign in.
  16. Hi, FYI this is my site and I was mere days away from announcing it myself Also I am about to upload some changes which allow user signon (optional) where you can save your set lists instead of having to enter them all the time. Any suggestions are welcome!
  17. Lots of advice already, for me the first two I got were the 8258 crane and 8043 excavator. Both are excellent :) When I got my 8258 I was blown away at its size and complexity. Things sure have changed since I was a kid.
  18. How about a huge fire truck with pneumatic ladder?

  20. Mine arrived about 4pm this afternoon (Brisbane). The Amazon box was pretty messed up, with huge tears that had been taped over. The lego box inside was perfectly intact though, with lots of paper padding around it. Now to stare at it constantly until Saturday when I'm allowed to play with it :)

  22. Mine too, estimated 12th July delivery. I buy books from them regularly and usually forget about them before they arrive 2-3 weeks later :)
  23. I just bought it and it said estimated delivery 9th-12th July.
  24. Just spent $200 on the 8043, and queued up $100 worth of books... time to logout ;)
  25. 8043 = 110.48 pounds shipping = 22.58 pounds total = $199
