  1. I am the creator of Rebrickable and am currently working on a feature to import parts from a Bricklink orders file. Hope to finish in the next few days :)
  2. haha, I can hear the relief in your reply from here :) I hope you didn't then go on to correct her use of the term "legos"
  3. I think this is the driving force behind a great many things ;)
  4. Rebrickable has Sets and Loose Parts, you don't need to manually track the parts within sets you own - that is automatic. So if you have added the ~40 sets you own, it knows which parts are in those sets when considering things you can build. The "My Parts" list is just to record any additional parts you have acquired outside of regular sets.
  5. You can setup a Rebrickable profile which has links to all the usual lego related sites (mocpages, brickset, brickshelf, etc) all in one place. Just saying
  6. At the moment it only tells you which parts are missing, not which sets you can get them from. I will definitely be adding that capability soon though :) After you sign up you can import your entire collection, the max 6 sets is only for unregistered users. However, it can't show you everything you can make by using all your parts at the same time. It just shows you single sets/mocs you can make with the parts, then you need to pull it apart to make the next one it suggests. It's an interesting idea though, I'll add it to the list of things to investigate :)
  7. Importing the parts list from a CAD file is the easiest way to add a MOC to Rebrickable but not the only way. You can also add them manually via the Part Picker, or if you have a list of the parts in an easy to access format (eg a spreadsheet) just email it to me when you submit the MOC and I will process them for you.
  8. I can add it for you if you can provide me with the parts list in any format. MPD/LXF is easiest but considering I added Grohl's 2000+ part Viggen from photos, anything will do :)
  9. Oh sorry... have you created a profile? Once you have, you can use a public link to any of your profile pages. For example my (incomplete) list of sets is at: http://rebrickable.com/profile/someidiot/sets
  10. Oh :D At the top right corner of each set page there are +1 and Like buttons. They don't seem to get used much so was actually thinking of removing them. Is there some other sharing button you'd prefer to see?
  11. Thanks for the info, I'll take a look. Every set has export options, currently in Basebrick and HTML table formats, I will add more later. Is this was you mean? I did post it to one of the general forums but it didn't gather much interest so was buried pretty quickly. I don't want to start any new posts about it or the moderators will frown upon the spamming. You can't yet :( What you can do is just tick My Parts and put a single old set which doesn't have anything useful eg 1233-2. Since I added the My Parts list later, a lot of the core code relies on working with sets so it's actually a big change to make them optional. I will do it eventually :)
  12. If there are some missing then I will definitely add them. I'm not sure what these parts are though, do you have example Bricklink links?
  13. It is available (for now!), but I think I'll just stick with what I have. I'm not sure what kind of future rebrick has and I've put a lot of effort into making the Rebrickable name known. For now I'll just wait and see how it plays out, but thanks for thinking of me :)
  14. You can actually export the parts list on Rebrickable in Basebrick format via the link just above the parts images. Or for the lazy: Export
  15. Hmmm so I'm sure no-one is going to confuse rebrick.com with rebrickable.com - not sure if I should be happy or angry.
  16. Done: http://rebrickable.com/sets/barman/avatar-helicopter
  17. I have a degree in microelectronics engineering, but that's probably not what you mean :) And no, it has not helped me one little bit!
  18. It should be working now. I've tested it on the main browsers and they all download or ask what to do with the file. If it's still not working for you it is most likely your browser cache. Some of them are very persistent and hard to clear. However, if you right click on the download link and choose Save As (or equivalent) you should be able to save it to a file easily enough.
  19. It was quite painful trying to come up with that one in the first place, it turns out I'm not very imaginative... How about thatsitethatshowsyouwhatyoucanbuildfromyourexistingsetsandpartsohandithasmocsandstatsandstufftoo.com :)
  20. Highly unlikely. But I wonder if I should start thinking of a different name now. On the other hand, TLG might shut it down in 6 months time.
  21. I'm not sure how this will affect Rebrickable The actual site contents should be pretty different from what I can piece together, but confusing the name is bound to cause some loss of traffic. TLG registered that domain name back in 2004 and have only now decided to use it
  22. I think it's fixed now, it's a bit hard for me to test properly where I am now. You will probably have to clear your browser cache before trying again.
  23. You can convert the LDraw file to LDD (see http://www.ldraw.org/Article504.html ) but it might not always work as LDD has a lot more restrictions in terms of which parts/colors are available and how they can be oriented. As for the LDR file opening directly inside the browser instead of downloading, that is something I will try to fix on the server.
