Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
leafan replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Promobricks recently posted about some new BAM exlusives. The following Forestmen-esque parts may be of interest to some here: On Promobricks they describe him as "Robin Hood". -
Looks like there are some more exclusives, posted on Promobricks: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-store-bam-tower-2021/119466/ Thanks to @Aurore in another thread, it should be noted that the Green Torso and Brown Legs on the Forestman type minifigure are not exclusives.

Alright well this is verging on the old tired 'what would sell' argument, but even then I'd say that most Knights would sell better to the kids than civilians. Like, I've never heard a kid say that they want that cool peasant minifigure.
-
I don't see anything inherantly female about this torso, but maybe that's just me? The curves to me could signal a slim man. Besides, why would you build an army of civilians anyway? Regardless, it's just my opinion of course, but I stand by it.
-
I think it is true, yes. I'm not talking about a random Knight here, I'm talking about an updated Lion Knight/Crusader - one of the most iconic factions in Lego Castle ever. Also, you can see how popular the Black Falcon update was by it's instant sell-out on Bricks and Pieces and the constant request for more in this very topic. Furthermore, the 2nd instance of the green torso from the Barracuda Bay and Medieval Blacksmith sets is still available, so probably not as popular. It may be slightly different on these forums, but every ounce of what I know about Lego Castle tells me that a new Crusader/LK would be more popular than a new civilian. I think that's over-thinking it to be honest. I seriously doubt that there are focus groups etc specifically for a new torso. It would be for the set overall if anything.
-
Does a new torso print really cost that much? I'm sure most fans would take an updated Lion Knight over a new civilian. I will never understand how a new printed torso can take something over budget. That's cool. In the UK, the Forestmen were led by Robin Hood; as he was named in some of the descriptions.
-
They can. The Pirate 3-in1 set had a new captain's torso.
-
Well you could say the same about the point in having 2 expensive sets with only 1 faction in it. I understand that people want the Black Falcon torso to be more readily available, and so do I, but the 3-in-1 set isn't exactly cheap itself. Lego could just increase supply and limited purchase numbers in Bricks and Pieces. I want to see the Lion Knights/Crusasers get an updated torso, since to me they're the traditional rival of the Black Falcons.
-
Whilst the 3-in-1 build sounds good, I am quite disappointed that there is only 3 minifigures and that they're Black Falcons; since we just had those in the Ideas set. Hopefully, it won't just be 2 more of the exact same Black Falcon torso from the Ideas set and they'll make some new prints.... but we all know that is not going to happen.
-
@CorvusA Fantastic build and idea! So many great Medieval / Fantasy builds lately; we are spoilt.
-
@Paul Corbak This, to me, is one of the most gorgeous mocs I've ever seen! I'm considering using this as my desktop background (hope you don't mind). Wow. Furthermore, may I ask where you got your Tully inspired minifigures from, please? PM me if you would.
-
I guess that depends if it's important to you or not. I'd do it because I'm a completionist :)

Great. " As communicated in earlier blog posts, the second round vote will be kept a secret until the launch of the set in 2022 as we want to keep it a surprise for everyone." I don't remember reading that on the original blog. Anyone else feel that's a little anticlimactic?
-
That's stange, although the ones I think that you're refering to are part of the Horse Cart and are only connected by 1 stud each (in the middle), so they fall off really easily. Worst part of the set imo.
-
Yes, I noticed that too; although it doesn't appear to be quite as bad as yours.
-
Thinking about it, a even 4 minifigs seems a little sparse for a castle. I'd like for there to be at least 6. A king, 4 knights, and at least 1 other peasant/jester/cook. I know I'm dreaming here but I still remember 6080 having 12 minifigs!
-
Yeah me too. I always considered the Lion Knights/Crusaders as the mortal enemy of the Black Falcons as a kid, so that would be my hope in terms of new prints. I'm also hoping that future CMF series give us updated versions of the old factions, much like they have recently with Blacktron, Space Police and Fright Knights. A lot of people are guessing another Black Falcon, and I can see why LTG would want to do that, but it seems a little boring to me to have a repeat of what they've just released. The skeleton is in the bag imo - that's always the cop-out minifig (unless you're a Star Wars fan and get a Battle Droid). All-in-all, I think I'd prefer it to be tied-in to an existing faction rather than a generic Castle. Thanks for bringing my attention to this one. Is lavendar/pink accurate for medieval times? Not saying it isn't but my movie memory of such times does not recall this colour lol. I suppose a princess may have mad the wealth and means to obtain exotic colours.
-
Yep I'm hoping for at least 5, including at least 2 non-Knight minifigs.
-
So I'm presuming that this Creator 3-in-1 Castle rumour is true for this summer, but what are people's thoughts on the minifigures? Generic knight with no heraldry, new heraldry or a throw-back to a classis faction such as Lion Knights/Crusaders? I'd prefer the latter, due to us already having a new Black Falcon torso; but I won't hold my breath since there was only 1 unique print for the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship set.

-
Good shout. It's not listed in blue on Bricklink but it does seem to be the same torso. Perhaps the one in the image is discoloured.
-
Does anyone recognise this Pirate? Honestly I'm not sure the torso is even Pirate, even though it kinda fits. Mish-mash of different parts?

Hear, hear! Glad I'm not the only who knows about Hermes! So many lost eBay transactions due to their negligence or criminality. OP: I hope this is resolved for you real soon. It must be so disappointing to have this happen when you're looking forward to receiving something.
