  1. Well quickly, get your entry uploaded and onto the forum while you still can!
  2. Haha, brilliant! Why did LEGO not tell Ron about changing everyone's legs? How embarrassing! Nice one Izzy, I'll be sure to check your comics out more in future.
  3. Hey brickmaster31, and welcome to Eurobricks! I'm honoured to be noticed for the headrail design, but I can't really claim ownership of it. Many builders used it in the past, I just borrowed it for Grandeur. Admiral Bejaune was actually the one who suggested I did the headrails like I did, but it's nice too see someone else also using the technique. The ship looks good from the small photos in your post, but unfortunately the MOC Pages link doesn't work. Also, this should be in the MOC forum, I'll go ahead and move it.
  4. All these suggestions already exist. Please see TheBrickster's brilliant Train Tech Index!
  5. Looks fantastic now! the width is nice, and the railing looks brilliant. good idea, and nicely executed. But do you plan to expand it? At the moment as such a small loop it doesn't really serve a purpose. It doesn't make sense being there being so small. Perhaps you could expand it a little around the buildings and give it a station. Then I'd say it has every reason to be there, and it would look far better!
  6. Oh good!
  7. Yeouch! Don't bite too hard. I was reffering to Classic-Pirates.com staff. Did I mean EB staff, I would have mentioned more than the pirate ranks wouldn't I? If something of a confusing nature like this happens again, please discuss it with me via PM, not in the public forums.
  8. To add a little more, now all of the shipyard crew have a "Shipyard Crew" tag regardless of their job, previously used for editor. That is now the only one used, with the exception of the staff ones (Admiral, Governor, Shipyard Master, Moderators, Regulators).
  9. Brilliant! I'm loving these episodes, and I can't wait to see more! Once you have a few chapters, do you plan to produce a DVD?
  10. However, because I'm far nicer than Izzy: Sextant: A piece of equipment used for navigation. Dolphin striker: A piece of wood perpendicular to the bowsprit to help it carry the tremendous tension of the masts behind it. Futtock rigging doesn't have to be chain, I'd make it rope. And how big is this ship if you'll have room for belay pin detail?
  11. I couldn't tell you, I buy bottles of milk, not cartons. I will look out for it now though. Did you see the LEGO Carillion MOC at Brickvention?
  12. Yeah, not looking too bad. I still stand that it has far too many mid-sections and is too narrow at the top, but I'm impressed that you have persisted with this clearly time, money and effort consuming project. You should certainly offset your decking planks though, it would look far better. And are you planning on having LEGO rigging on the final model? I think you would do much better with string rigging. It would look better with more of a cuurve in her line, but she still looks ok. You have certainly put alot into this project mate, and it seems your effort is paying off. She looks great.
  13. Ah, well like you said, only preliminary. I look forward to the final result. (BTW, catheads are catheads because the ropes of the anchor often came out of the mouth of a lion or other cat on the end of the beam. Would you be able to do anything with this on your larger-than-usual scale? Congrats Henk!
  14. Are you sure you want to do that? I'm not too sure that the box car doors really lend themselves to a refridgerated car. I would go with standard bricks. Here's a great one you might use for inspiration. Just to be a pain, I'm going to suggest you go with Canberra Milk. What sort of loco is pulling these?
  15. But is this really a MOC as such? "My Own Creation"? This isn't really his creation, it's more of a MOP - My Own Photography.
  16. I would say it has to do with running it on an AFOL layout, don't get your hopes up for 2 motors in the set.
  17. Wow Henk, you've really made brilliant progress. This ship just gets better and better. I was skeptical about your headrails design when I first heard abou it, but now you have me convinced. They look fantastic! How did you reinforce the hull to stop the pressure of the headrails making iit explode? I actually have to disagree. They currently look way to big, although I think it has something to do with the angle. The catheads were on a 45 degree angle to the front of the ship. Although your brick-built bowsprit protruding from the bow is outstanding! What piece did you use to give it the angle? With the exception of a missing deck.
  18. Hey, I never said I'd entrust any personal details in Facebook.
  19. Personally I don't believe in ghosts etc, but I think some interesting things happen when we're sleeping. I've had strange senses of deja vu, only to realise that I had dreamed something of a similar nature only a few nights before. A few years ago I had a replacement maths teacher while my usual maths teacher was sick, and when he walked into the room, I was sure I'd seen him before, but I couldn't place it. Then he tripped over and smacked his head on the whiteboard, disrupting the lesson. It was then that I remembered that I had actually dreamt about a man who looked just like this, tripping over and doing this exact thing, the night before!!! I don't believe there's any sort of scary thing happening, and I don't think I have "visions" or anything, but I think there is something extremely interesting connecting the human brain to time and space that is yet to be discovered...
  20. Nice one! It's always great to see people adding trains to their towns, I'm sure you'll agree it adds alot. Continue to build your town up, and be sure to keep us updated.
  21. Well done! These are the basis of rail freight transport in Australia, we don't tend to have as many box cars, tankers, hoppers etc. crossing the continent. Instead we have cars like this beauty hauling shipping containers and steel. Well done lightningtiger! Perhaps you could consider sharing this and your other Aussie creations over at ANZFOL too?
  22. I'm sure Joey Lock will update this thread when he is ready. Please don't bump it pointlessly ever again.
  23. That's really clever! But maybe for realism sake (as realistic as you can get with big cogs sticking out of your wagon ) you could tile the outside of the container in red? But on the whole, nicely done. And as TheBrickster said, it's brilliant to see the video as well.
  24. *cough*Link*cough* ^^For the number of people who will actually click this, it's hardly worth it.
  25. Nice one.
