  1. A damn, I have some bad news. I just saw a picture of the Queen Anne's Revenge from POTC 4. It looks like this: No, this is what it should look like: Which means that we'll get yet another LEGO ship with really messed up proportions that looks totally unrealistic. If you're not convinced, remember this?
  2. Looks just as brilliant as it did on ANZFOL! Haha, great work, but 50 bricks missing? What BL shop was that, I don't want to be ordering from them!
  3. It's not difficult to set a character limit, which would seem more logical than a line limit considering the browser scaling issue previously mentioned. Although, I feel that Eurobricks is a community for mature people, and the immature ones get fished out eventually anyway. The mature people should read the guidelines and follow them (which means not over quoting), and the other mature people should appreciate that and just ignore the immature people when they aren't as courteous. Nice idea, though we need a more universal solution.
  4. Wooheee, she's completed! Fantastic model Mr. Croissant, I'm extremely impressed. The finctionality is amazing, she's a brilliant design. Asthetically, things are perfect, the proportions are all correct and the ship looks beautiful. Seeing all the interior work too makes me wish that I had built an inside for Grandeur, but I suppose that the extra elements would have cost you more. I also like your rigging and sails, they're all extremely realistic. The precision in your rig is very impressive, and it's clear you spent a lot of time and energy on getting it right. The black thick shrouds with the thin ratlines are very effective, a most clever design. And it would be remiss of me not to mention the lovely artwork in the cabin. This is an excellent ship, most impressive. Thanks very very much for sharing. I think this more than qualifies to be part of the master LEGO ship model fleet.
  5. Ah, apparently you guys liked our event name then. www.brickexpo.com.au
  6. Looks great! Quite a nice layout you have there, good to see a mix of good track plan and good scenery - usually it's one or the other in LEGO layouts. I particularly like the yellow train (tram?) towards the back of the first photo. Now if you'll exuse me, I have some layout photos to drool over...
  7. Perhaps not the right forum, but train fans may miss the find were it to be in the BSTF forum, and this certainly isn't something that EB members in that area would want to miss.
  8. Wow Croissant, what an amazing update! I'm particularly impressed by the use of different string in different colour, width etc. Very effective. Your sails also look great, and the small details are perfect. You are a fantastic shipbuilder, and Vesta is more than worthy of its place in the EB French fleet.
  9. Excellent work there Selander! I'm really liking this image, the way you have incorporated so much into just two grey baseplates is quite impressive. While it has a minimalist feel to it, there isn't too much empty space, and it still feels about the right amount of detail. Looks excellent, just as a LEGO train yard should. Thank you for sharing.
  10. @gabe - Brick Expo will be held the first weekend of August in Canberra in 2011. @peterab - we had somewhere between 4,800 and 5,000 people come through the door, a far bigger turnout than any of us were expecting!
  11. So when do I get my design fee? Linky. Looks good mate, although I'd try to put some blue in your stern, can't just have it change to black that fast.
  12. Let us know about it! brickexpo@gmail.com
  13. One week until Brick Expo! Watch the trailer on YouTube.
  14. Wow, this is sure some news! I was always against a POTC line, but when seing the look of that Jack Sparrow fig, perhaps it isn't such a bad idea. As much as I'd rather see the yellows continue, there is definately a lot of scope for a POTC line set wise. However I feel that there is a good chance that the sets will kinda suck. Now this is just complete speculation as I really have no idea, but I'm getting the feeling that although we'll have awesome minifigs, we'll probably also have ships containing massive pieces along with a massive price tag. Still, kudos to LEGO for producing such a cool minifig, and if the others are like this one I'll most likely be Bricklinking them. I'm really looking forward to seeing a Davy Jones! But what's with the camel in POTC?
  15. Agreed - it seems though when reading the EB ranks thread that post counts are a status symbol. Perhaps this could be ammended so as not to provoke members to post for the sake of posting?
  16. Don't worry, I'm not dead yet. ;)

  17. Thanks for the wishes everyone! As far as LEGO gifts are concerned, I was lucky enough to score one of those minifig keychains with the lightup feet. Had a great day with mates and family.
  18. Nice layout you have there Cpl Yu! The momorail looks great, as do all the trains. And chance of a link to more photos?
  19. Looks great! Although I probably would swap the red wheels for black. Where did you aquire all those red 2 x 4 rounded slope parts? And with the printing? Or spraypaint and stickers?
  20. Aye, Phes is right! I personally think the anchor is a fantastic detail! A little large and yellow, but it's LEGO after all! It has a very classic feel to it this MOC, and it reminds me of sets such as the Eldorado Fortress and the Imperial Trading Post. I love the window arches, and the colour scheme is great too. Perhaps the bottom floor could have had some more detail in it, but overall it has a nice interior, and the missing back wall adds some good play value, also adding to the classic-ness of the MOC. Top work there! I look forward to seeing more of your MOCs. Perhaps this would be a good MOC to feature on the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage? What do you think bloggers?
  21. Hey Big Cam, all the best for your special day. Happy Birthday, and may you enjoy it with lots of family, friends and most importantly, LEGO bricks! May you enjoy this nice big pink fluffy cake.
  22. Not my call, but if I were you I'd make it about a quarter of the size it is, then it won't be big enough to event warrant staff attention.
  23. Haha! I don't believe you actually went through with it.
  24. If you're happy to do that, it would be appreciated if you took the episodes in the directory in the first post and uploaded them to http://www.classic-pirates.com/behind_the_helm/episodes/ Thanks.
