  1. How will you go about aquiring red 2 x 4 round slope bricks?
  2. This thread was created before Classic-Pirates.com was rediesigned and based off a Content Management System, thus the webpage the first post is referencing no longer exists. You can find all the images in Mister Phes's Brickshelf gallery here. Since there is nothing more to discuss, I'll close this thread.
  3. Can't say I'm really sure. If it was aimed at KFOLs, why are the parts so pricey, and if it was aimed at AFOLs, why leave 9v in the first place?
  4. No reason not to congratulate a hard-working and handsome chap like myself a second time around.
  5. When we advertised a position as a blogger for Classic-Pirates.com, we were overwhelmed at the quality of the applicants. There were so many candidates who would be excellent additions to the crew, and we didn't know who to pick. So what did we do? We selected 3 people for the job. So congratulations to: Admiral Croissant Dreamweb Big Cam They will enjoy the following: Special Pirate crew tag Personal training in HTML by paid website designers Access to a hidden forum called The Shipyard along with all the benefits that alone brings A way to make their mark on the online Pirates community Chance to be known on a blog averaging over 19,000 unique visitors per month A special profile in the "Crew" section of Classic-Pirates.com Many more benefits beyond your wildest dreams! Anyway, let's give these guys a big hearty congratulations! P.S. Classic-Pirates.com would like to extend a huge thank you to all those who applied for this job, it was an extremely tough decision. We thank you hugely for your interest. And a personal note from Captain Zuloo: This was a rare occurance, we don't usually find our crew by application threads. Usually we observe good behaviour, quality posting and dedication to the Pirates forum and the online community, and we personally invite people into the crew. So take heed of this, and you may find yourself one day in a position in the crew of the original, the biggest, the most comprehensive and the overall best LEGO Pirates website on the planet.
  6. Well done! I like the round technique, although perhaps you could make use of Captain Green Hair's jumper plate technique to make the ship more of an egg shape looking from the top. I can't say I like the headrails though. I can't make a suggestio how to improve them, but play around with them until they look better. You should also mae the height of the foremast taller, but those are the only things. Looks very nice, and I look forward to following this project. The best of luck! Oh, and it is far too big to be a frigate, this baby is a ship-of-the-line. I have updated the title accordingly.
  7. Well, it's um...original... Nice idea Croissant, very clever work there. I like the idea of using steps to make a cellar and still have the main shop on the ground floor. And it gave me a good laugh. All round good MOC, A+ there buddy.
  8. Did you consider that the price may be incorrect? I hope as much as everyone that it is as low as it is rumoured to be, but I would trust the box more than a post on a forum with no solid evidence.
  9. While we're all worrying that LEGO has somehow wronged us with providing no rechargable battery because of the "Batteries Not Included" on the box, may I just ask, did any of you actually look at the box? It is certainly refering to the remote as there is ALSO a picture of the PF components INCLUDING the battery box.
  10. That doesn't mean we won't be bossing you around though.
  11. I would assume they were just the preliminary images that we have been seeing for the last few weeks that someone uploaded, then removed because LEGO requested they be taken down.
  12. I can't help you with your questions, but I see a big plus from this: If you can't tidy these parts up, imagine what an awesome ghost ship you'll be able to build with these parts!
  13. Couldn't have put it better myself.
  14. Unless of course the missing parts include the prefab hulls, the masts and the helm.
  15. I second what Blackmoor said, there is a bit too much yellow. Note how this ship has been done with more black at the top: I think your ship could benefit from the same. I would suggest that the top is too narrow, but that is unavoidable on prefabs. All round, good ship, and I look forward to seeing completion.
  16. Haha, thanks guys, always nice to be appreciated twice.
  17. Since the start of my Grandeur project, I have spent about $300 AUD, and I probably only bought about half the parts for the project, the rest were in my collection. To make a really good, really detailed frigate on prefabs I would suggest it might cost around $600 - $700 AUD.
  18. Regarding the baseplate issue, could you perhaps use grey plates or bricks on top of the green baseplate?
  19. Nice MOC! Like other have said, what a brilliant amount of detail on such a small hull! I can't say the rigging does much for me, would be better with string I think. I do like your badass swivel cannons though, I wouldn't even want my 28-gun frigate getting in the way of those things! Great job for a first ship MOC, keep it up.
  20. As far as parts, you can't go past Bricklink. It is certainly the best place to buy individual parts, and usually in quantity as well. What sort of ship were you planning to build?
  21. 3 to Erds.
  22. I'm really sorry to do this to you, but: This is space 7, meaning it has a size restriction of 16 x16 studs. Unfortunatley, it will need to be redone.
  23. A photo of the front of the building: Also, not to be outdone by Cap'n Blackmoor, I built an interior. Not highly detailed, but it included a desk of drawers with the jumperplate drawer technique (something I've never been able to do before). You can also see inside a VIM (Very Important Minifig). And as stated in the rules, I have included an arial photograph: Good luck to everyone, keep these great MOCs rolling! :)
  24. My entry for the 2010 Community Build: Government House An overall photo of the entry. It was quite a challenge constructing a building that would usually take up 16 x 32 minimum on a 16 x 16 baseplate. A photo of the front of the building: Also, not to be outdone by Cap'n Blackmoor, I built an interior. Not highly detailed, but it included a desk of drawers with the jumperplate drawer technique (something I've never been able to do before). 25. Because anything is better than green. Great animation there mate, had me laughing for a good length of time. I got a particular kick from Yodas chuckle and cats getting destroyrd by GREEN METEORITES! Classic, one of my favourites.
