  1. Dear god, this is getting out of hand... I love that one!
  2. I'd say go the historically accurate guns on the top deck. This is how I did the guns on the top deck of my WIP frigate, design credit to Captain Green Hair:
  3. The problem with b being that if little Johnny gets a train for his birthday and mum and dad don't realise that it needs a cord to go with it...
  4. Hoorah for Classic-Pirates.com's first community build! I'd like to take #21, Government House if it isn't too much trouble.
  5. Not for the car with PF.
  6. Ok guys, that's enough insulting each other. Play nice...almost time to find out the truth behind something I know nothing of.
  7. Pirates will strike back in 2010... Well done Train Tech, all the best in the future, may we continue to input into the future of LEGO trains.
  8. Back on topic, do we know if the train sets come with the cord to recharge the battery? It would seem silly not to as it would make the train useless, but do we know for sure?
  9. Great MOC, A+! Good work Swash Buckler. This has been
  10. <ramble>I would definately say that photographs are a great source of inspiration for my building. I think there is a difference between photos and art though. I don't think you could really get details and things from paintings as they may not be completely accurate, but then again some paintings are accurate, and you might not even want a completely accurate train anyway. Sure, some photography could be classified as art, but how many details of a train are you going to get from a silhouette in the sunset or something? I think it is a bit too broad of a question to ask if I use paintings etc. as inspiration for MOCs, I think I just use any sort of media depending on if I like the look of it or not.</ramble> EDIT: I just saw the image in your post TheBrickster, and I suppose that is a different matter, that image could certainly inspire a diorama.
  11. Did you get any sort of discount?
  12. Nonsense, it's a team conspiracy...um, oops...I know nothing of this...
  13. It seems that the Toy Story train doesn't include the flanged versions which will make it hard to keep it on the tracks. Probably not a good train set that one.
  14. If I remember correctly, Jamie Berard told me they still make LEGO in Billund as well as the USA and China.
  15. Nice one! Thanks for the picture with all the pieces needed to build it, I shall try to build one of these as soon as I get back to my LEGO collection.
  16. 7897 as a steamer? Pictures?
  17. I think it's just you. I agree that they look like they might be 3 wheeled bogies, but on closer inspection, the cargo train has that black minifig head piece between 2 wheels, and the passenger train has 2 wheels on the bogie, but the shadow makes it appear there is a third.
  18. Stop speculating on prices!!! Unless we have any solid evidence of the prices, we'll be disappointed. As Jamie Berard said after I interviewed him, price speculation is usually wrong, and it makes TLG look bad, so keep the speculation down!
  19. Unfortunately these links seem to be dead. I looked all over the Classic-Pirates.com server too, but it seems these guides to the Pirate minifigures have vanished. If anyone has any of the Guide to the Pirate Minifigures articles tucked away on their computers, please email them to me at news-coordinator@classic-pirates.com and I'll re-upload them to the server. Apologies from Classic-Pirates.com for them not being available for you to download, I hope we can get them up for you soon bengun!
  20. Great little MOC there Legorski! But share some more photos!!! This has been
  21. Great job Erds! I'm keen on my "Spaghetti-Eis", looks...yummy. Great MOC mate, that's a nice coulour scheme, and an equaly nice design. The use of parts like the Indy whips etc. are very clever and add a very nice touch to the model. It looks as though it could slide right into a modular street. Well done, and good luck in the contest!
  22. My layout is currently 180cm x 120cm. Not too bad a size for a small layout in my LEGO room. I've just started it for the 2010 Blocksford exhibition layout.
  23. Haha, thanks CopMike! Text is coming, I promise. It's the Sailor's Hornpipe by Mike Oldfield.
