  1. I voted for the prefabs, but only because they are what the 9v system is based on. However my idea track piece would be 9v and in actual bricks, it would make things like tram lines a lot easier and it would provide more flexibility for different gauges.
  2. Ryan_T, the Community Hall is yours! ALL SPACES ARE NOW FULL So let's look forward the brilliant creations that soon will be surfacing!
  3. It's yours kespa!
  4. Thanks! That table is indeed a great table to photograph LEGO ships on. If only it was bigger and had a blue hint in it... Good, I'm glad it doesn't look like the first version. Definately a change for the better. Thanks Skip! When I first put the railing on, I thought it looked a little odd, but I had paid for all these reddish brown tiles, so I had to use them! I'm glad I did as it turned out to grow on me, especially when I did the railing on the waist in reddish brown too. Thanks, although I can't claim ownership of the colour scheme. Captain Green Hair used a similar colour scheme on his La Mort Royale and Admiral Bejaune modified it for his Sang Royale. I just stole it from Sang Royale and adapted it for a frigate. Although the stern is mine, and I'm really pleased with it. I deliberately didn't show you a very good photo of it as I want to keep it a bit of a surprise. Thanks Croissant! I'm hoping she'll be worthy of sailing beside Vesta. Thanks! Again, it kinda was better in my head when I ordered the parts, but it's grown on me and now I really like the reddish brown. It gives it a smoother feel than having studs.
  5. Tell me about it! And to get an actually decent quality provider costs a lot too. Does EB pay for itself yet?
  6. As you are using a PDF, it should just be a matter of printing at 100%.
  7. Again, let's not get all worked up about prices until we see them in actual shops, and S@H.
  8. Last year's was a big success, I'd love to be involved again in 2010! My sigfig is the same as last year mate.
  9. Wonderful Captain! Full of details that I wasn't expecting from the CB. And in such a short time too! I like your interiors as well as your exteriors, and there are some nice details like the wooden floor and the chairs inside and the helm and the anchor outside. The anchor on the Victory weighed more than 4.7 tons, so I hope for your buildings sake that isn't the anchor of the Victory. Well done.
  10. Who's up for another Update? Yet again she has been COMPLETELY rebuilt, this time with way more guns and a nicer colour scheme. She will soon be joining the Caribbean fleet under the Sang Royale and La Mort Royale. She has been updated a huge amount since these photos (I'm half way through rigging her) but I thought you guys might want to see a little about what is coming. As the deck is now: Some of the first WIP shots of V3 of the Grandeur Some images from the next WIP lot: And some from the next stage: And now some photos from the last lot of WIPs: The next update will most likely be the last: the complete ship. She's changed a little, and she looks brilliant (in my opinion anyway). What do you guys think? A bit of a departure from the first post eh?
  11. I play a few things. I play bass guitar for a band called The Static Megaphones and I used to play for Doomsday Generation. I also play 1st violin in the number 2 orchestra in my Canberra. I stuff around with the acoustic, but nothing really serious. I thought I had some pictures from the Doomsday Generation days, but where they are is beyond me. I'll keep looking though...
  12. Keep the applications coming guys! This is a fantastic opportunity for you, gaining new skills from paid web developers, working in a team, getting your name out there and becoming respected as a blogger on the best Pirates website in the LEGO community.
  13. Ah, looking nice General! I would replace the gun flaps with the plain red ones, but I guess you were planning to do that anyway. Only other thing, I would redo those headrails. They are just too angular.
  14. Very few brigs had lower gundecks, so it would in fact be more historically accurate to go with them on the top deck. Top heavy ships were indeed a problem, but not for a ship the size of a brig. You would have more problems with open gunports on a lower gundeck.
  15. Hahaha. Nice animation, be it a little random. What is the ship in the background?
  16. You'll have trouble with the tumblehome that small. I'd go with what Greeny suggested. You can always use the "Search" funtion on Eurobricks or Classic-Pirates.com and you'll wind up here at some point. I am building a ship similar to Captain Green Hair's, although only 5 mid-sections. I have injected over $200 AUD at least into her with Bricklink orders and most parts have come from my own collection, but keep in mind my ship is a good bit more detailed than some.
  17. Oh dear! I can't believe entries are being posted already, and I'm not even started on my Government House! Great entry so far. I'd suggest making the roof 2 studs longer with overhang of 1 stud on each end. I think that could improve it, but it is very well done. I'm also impressed by your anvil. Nice one.
  18. No, he's right. The very first post contains my review of the set, which I suggest you read as is has some good quality images showcasing the set, as well as my personal opinions of it. The posts/pages bring up the pros and cons of the set, also worth checking out. Be resourceful, make use of what is already here.
  19. I think he was saying it was a super simple, but clever idea to put the crows nest on the bow sprit.
  20. *Gets knocked over by Zorro before producing a paddle and smaking Zorro with it* Looks great Jeff! Although I'm a little sceptic about the CC/GG style buildings in a Pirate port... I really look forward to seeing this project through. We'll have to get the odd update via 'Behind The Helm' eh?
  21. That large element is from this weak excuse for a set.
  22. Haha, looks yummy Erds! The best wishes to you for 2010 mate.
  23. This freeware program however, can.
  24. Indeed there seems to be something interesting smurfacing...
