Hey there Fires-storm! Your second image post took me a while to load on a broadband connection, so for the benfit of our dial-up users, I have replaced your images with links. Here are a few tutorials that might help you out with your image resizing problem: How to resize images online Deeplinking images The deeplinking tutorial is for images uploaded to Brickshelf, but it still applies to your images. Just make sure you set it out like this: [img=imageurl.fileextention(jpg, gif, png)] Your ship is really nice, I'm impressed with what you have come up with from a scuttled BB! Well done, we don't see enough schooners on here.

4841 Hogwarts Express Train Discussion
Captain Zuloo replied to Chromeknight's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Perhaps, but I'll be waiting until an official announcement to decide what I think of the set. -
Ahoy there! It is finally finished! Since Febuary 13 2009 I have been working on the frigate Grandeur, and during that time she has undergone 3 complete rebuilds. She is now complete at the end of v3. You can view the WIP thread here. She is heavily based on Sang Royale and La Mort Royale by Admiral Bejaune and Captain Green Hair, and is the 3rd ship along with the above 2 in the French Caribbean fleet. Firstly I would like the give a big thank you to Admiral Bejaune who provided me with help and support whenever I got stuck along the way. Thanks a heap for your help mate, I wouldn't have gotten this far without you. Also a big thank you to those who gave me some good feedback during the build (Captain Green Hair, Cap'n Blackmoor, Cutlass Iz, Ras, Erdy and Bonaparte). Thank you to you guys too, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Now onto the ship! For the first sail, I invited some friends around to help me crew her: It seems there isn't enough space for all of us in the boat when some people are being pushy... Ok, time for roll call! Captain Green Hair? Aye! SlyOwl? Ahoy! Cutlass Iz? Indeed! Zorro? Yep! Erds? Erdy? Where is Erdy? Of course, he's made off with the whisky drawers! Time to raise the anchor. Work you dogs, put your plastic backs into it! Anchors away! Oh dear, how rude of Cutlass Iz to walk in on you Zorro! Oh DEAR! He got a little embarrassed it seems. Erdy climbs the shrouds like a good ice cream: Cutlass Iz at the helm. Compass House design credit goes to Admiral Croissant. A massive thanks to Captain Green Hair for donating most of the 2 x 2 red fllags on the broadside. Erdy standing at the stern. A handsom guy according to the Flickr page. Cutlass Iz on watch at the top of the foremast. Captain Green Hair: Hey Zuloo, check out this cannon I found! Hey, isn't that Zorro down there? Captain Zuloo: It looks like it might be. Captain Green Hair: Hehehehe It was! Sorry Zorro. Sweet revenge... The crew at work. And now some fig-less photos of the ship: I also want to thank Commodore Hornbricker for his generosity which made this ship come about. He was kind enough to send me all of the used jumpers, a fantastic gift! Thanks again commodore! Also a huge thanks to pe668 for his gift of some extra hull sections, but also for being a great friend who has tought me so much about my LEGO hobby! I can never thank him enough. Well, that's pretty much all folks! I hope you liked viewing my ship! You can find some high-res photos on my flickr page here. Until next time sea dogs!

Eurobricks Target Age Group
Captain Zuloo replied to Siegfried's topic in Forum Information and Help
What I meant was, Eurobricks currently has a standard sort of under 18 posting/MOCing etc. quality. The majority of TFOLs here don't spam the threads, but more often than not reply with comments that don't really make any impact on the discussion. There are however a few exceptions to this rule, and there are some TFOLs on here who post really well and have very talented building skills. These people are the exceptions, and it would not be fair to remove them from the site for the purpose of making it strictly 18+. At the same time, there are a number of adults who have displayed poor posting on here in the past too, so I think the current system of case-by-case maturity based assesment of members is better than any alternative. You guys are doing well. -
4841 Hogwarts Express Train Discussion
Captain Zuloo replied to Chromeknight's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I don't want to crush your spirits or anything, but this speculation about no big drivers has not been confirmed by LEGO, so don't look at it as fact! Wait until we see official photos, then start complaining about it. -
Hey TheBrickster, thank you for sharing another 100% cool MOC! I have a few comments on it: MOC The model itself is a nice design with some good contrasting colours. The use of the smaller wheels at the front is very effective, and it looks quite nice. I also like the smoke stack, the lantern and the poles at the front just above the cow catcher. My suggestion for improvement is that you consider using less yellow. The yellow stripe, being a bright colour, directs my attention from the wheels and other interesting bits to the stripe. By all means keep it as one of the base colours, but perhaps don't have it continue over the drivers. And would you be able to add working pistons that go right into the cylinder? Photography I'm always impressed by your visual eye, and your photography and imagery skills. Although this time I feel that the image is too dark. It is difficult to see the train because it is made up of dar colours on a dark background. Perhaps you could consider either a slightly different background, or darkening the background further and brightening up the image of the train to bring it out more. It's a cool MOC, and I would hate to see it suffer because of the photos being too dark. But on a positive note, your framing is nice, and you achieved the photo without much reflection on the plastic, which is always something difficult when photographing LEGO! One other thing: why is there no track on the box art of this model, but there is on the box art of your wagon?

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Captain Zuloo replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Unless you get some really good follow-up servcie, I'd leave some feedback that reflects your ideas. I have been caught by dishonest eBay sellers too many times... But certainly contact them and let them know, also about the smoking.- 502 replies

Eurobricks Target Age Group
Captain Zuloo replied to Siegfried's topic in Forum Information and Help
A rant perhaps, but also a valid statement. Peter and yourself are very correct, in that there would be a higher standard of things with a strict 18 + rule, but you would lose all exceptions to the standard which isn't always a good thing. But it is something that can never really be enforced. I think the EB staff do a fantastic job of keeping the exceptions in order. -
Wow, this is great TheBrickster. It's nice to see you trying a different building style, and while you may have built more classic-style MOCs, this is certainly a good way to enter the world of highly detailed train MOCs. I look forward to seeing the end result, and I applaud you for stepping out of the box and trying something new.

Er...thank you for that comment. The last worthwhile post was made Feb 3 2007.

MOC: Airbus A380
Captain Zuloo replied to reload's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ryan, no point me making a huge post here as I already mentioned how impressed I was at Brickvention. But you truly have done a stunning job, these photos honestly don't do the sheer scale of the MOC justice, let alone all the features. Captain Zuloo (Connor Hicks) -
There is always the possibility for a Eurbricks order. Do you have any idea who the 9v motor manufacturer is or where we could find out who it is?
-
Great job Ryan_T! The end result is truly stunning, and what does it show when you have continued to create an amazing ship even in my absence at the end? I'll give you a hint: You don't need me to build cool ships, you did a fantastic job on your own.
-
You are aware that these images are 75 x 75 pixels in size right? As much as I tried, I couldn't for the life of me make out what they were of. Please provide us with bigger images so we can see your ship!
-
Get a piece of paper and a pencil, and be creative!
-
Do you know what sort of price we would be looking at for a new motor from a motor supplier?
-
It was only a few weeks back when I went past the actual car at the Silverton Hotel 45 minutes from Broken Hill, and I gotta say I'm impressed! I look forward to the final pictures. Oh, and where's Max?
-
I actually think the blue and yellow looks rather nice when broken up a little by the checkers. Well done, stern looks great too, although perhaps you should revisit the line of the ship. It should be curved, not a flat V. If you look at real ships, they sort of flatten out a little at the lowest point of the curve. ou could do this by making the middle sections longer than 6 studs long..

A number of programs including Photoshop can do that, but if you are after free stuff, I'd look at Gimp, which is almost as good as Photoshop, and it's also free!

Guide: How to use BB Code acronyms
Captain Zuloo replied to Legoliner Pilot's topic in Forum Information and Help
Certainly the best use of it in a forum. I suppose it would act similar to title text on an image anchor in HTML. -
I did, and I still don't get it.
-
That looks great, but that last image is in excess of 1000 x 500 pixels, which as you know is far too big. Please resize it when you can!

Three cheers for Jamie Berard! Kind enough to be interviewed TWICE on Behind the Helm, not only is he a supurb designer, but he also a fantastic public speaker. His sets are amazing, full of interesting uses of parts, stylish colour schemes and challenging builds, even for a skilled AFOL. Jamie Berard is certainly a fantastic addition to The LEGO Group's arsenal of talented designers.

Sly, that is stunning! That is a brilliant piece of artwork there, I love the use of arms for Davy's face. It is certainly the best Davy Jones fig I've ever seen. Keep up the great MOCs mate!
