  1. Go new and shiny! We even kicked around the idea of a laundromat/karaoke bar...
  2. We actually did think about angling a single door but decided to stick with the two doors since the original building had the same. As our first MOC and one made prior to our finding out about the vast online communities we (read I) were much less sophisticated in our building techniques and really thought that the quaintness (if you will) of the two doors should remain in the remodel. We do get your point tho and appreciate the thought.
  3. The arcade games came from Brickbuilderspro.com. The business signs (The Laundry Room & Red Brick Pizza Oven) we made ourselves.
  4. The Laundry Mat is the second business on the same plot as the The Red Brick Pizza Oven. After the move we decided to remove Bill's Bike Repair Shop and insert in a new business that wasn't previously represented in the city - and Sydney thought we needed a laundromat. So here it is, hope you enjoy it... As usual there are more pics here and here.
  5. The Red Brick Pizza Oven was the first modular MOC that we built for our city. It was originally an amalgamation of three City Corner (7641) sets. Following the City Corner template there was a pizzeria and a bike repair shop on the same plot. At the time parts were scarce so the interiors were a bit sparse - even lacking tiled floors. So, after the move we had a great opportunity to give the old girl a bit of a face lift. The new building has a laundromat (to be posted shortly) instead of the bike repair shop and some minor upgrades to the internal facilities. Hope you enjoy. The old exterior... A quick look at the old interiors... And now on to the new shots! As always there are tons more pictures here and here.
  6. Wow, this is absolutely stunning. Every Christmas I work up a BL order of white plates for our city but have never gone through with it. The details in your work are so impressive - the tire tracks in the snow, the Star Wars bits, everyone playing in the snow - everything, Really, a just amazing build. Thank you very much for sharing.

    Police

Your police station looks great next to the FB. I have a couple of comments -completely free of charge- so please feel free to value them accordingly. The interiors feel more like a general office building rather than an actual police station - I might cordon off the 'chief's' office and then add in a slew of desks and file cabinets on the floor, a small evidence room, an interview room - just a few things you might find that kind of space. All of that might be a tight squeeze for the foot print your're trying to maintain so I get the more sparsely furnished interior. Either way a very impressive building - thanks for sharing.
  8. We just posted up the farm house and thought that it is best seen in it's natural setting. We've still got to complete a proper barn and silo and will put in some proper fields soon too. Short of those items most of the farm is in place. Enjoy. If you'd like to see more feel free to click here or here.
  9. The Lego Farm set (7637) was literally the first 'official' set my daughter and I started with. What started as a fun little set in the middle of the dinning room table has grown into what is Godwins Hollow today - in just a few years - so Lockridge Farms quite literally is the cornerstone of our city. This is the farm house in the center of the farm. As always, if you'd like to see more feel free to click here or here.
  10. I agree - great convertible!
  11. Wow, I mean really impressive work all around. The LDD renders are great, the idea is awesome, but what really puts this over the top for me is that someone has cut holes in dry wall to accommodate their train! I love it! Also love all of the support structure. We've never made room in our layout to place the train tracks on the base plates with the rest of the city and have always tinkered with an elevated track and station concept - will definitely be putting some of all this hard work to use in Godwins Hollow.
  12. Thanks y'all! I'm glad that it has some semblance to reality - all we had to work from were my memories of the vet we used when I was Sydney's age and the scenes from the beginning of Terminator 3! We're really happy with how it turned out. Personally, its one of my favorite smaller building interiors.
  13. UGGGHHH!!! How could I have forgotten Middle Zealand/Cloud Cockoo Land/Bricksburg in my posters? That may be cause to try and slip in a couple new posters.
  14. WOW! Amazingly realistic street. I'm looking forward to seeing your new additions.
  15. Nope, we've been cleaning up vehicles and right now they are all over everywhere. Since we've got these last few buildings out maybe we'll get the city streets cleaned up and take some proper pictures. The last ones are from about a month ago you can see them here.
  16. After highlighting several of the buildings in the strip mall we thought we should post up a few shots of the whole strip mall together. The mall is situated around what will be the Main Street Plaza Hotel and since the hotel is obviously not done the mall as a whole has a few more pieces that need to be put into place but only after the hotel is up. Just making excuses for the unfinished nature of the layout area. For more feel free to check out our Flickr feed.
  17. This is our take on a little town travel agency. When pulling together our ideas for the place we ran across some really awesome 'vintage' travel posters for fictional locations so we decided to do a two sided travel agency - downstairs you can book traditional travel and vacations and upstairs we can book you into almost any fantasy vacation imaginable. From Hogwarts and Middle Earth to Arakis and Pandora to the worlds of Star Wars, Serenity, and Star Trek. We tried to make some displays for the window and feel we got the gist of it right but may try to fine tune them a bit in the future - downstairs we have a tropical island/cruise thing going on and upstairs there's a rocket to a ringed planet. Anyways, hope you enjoy. As always, if you'd like to see more feel free to click here or here.
  18. This is the last interior redesign of the Main Strip Strip Mall collection. Our veterinary clinic has a small waiting area where you pick up pet supplies, the clinic area, and a small boarding area connected to a small outdoor dog run. Hope you enjoy. A quick shot of the old interior by the Brick City Depot folks. Our new interiors... As usual if you'd like to see more click here and here.
  19. Thanks for all the great comments about our stickers. Really, all that has been done is framing someone else's great photos to fit our spaces. I can't credit the original photographers as I pulled almost all of the images off Google. If you like these you should poke around the DupliBrix page - I personally like those much more. We're also almost finished with our travel agency and I found some AWESOME travel posters that we've turned into art for that build too - the normal New York, Paris, London type places but in the upstairs (where you can book space travel) we've got posters for Bespin, Vulcan, Pandora, Rivendale, Hogwarts, Arakis, etc - really excited to see how they turn out.
  20. Thanks as always. We've got one more strip mall shop that is undergoing an interior redesign but that should be wrapped up this evening. Once the vet is done we'll post that up and then some shots of the whole group laid out in the street. They're all wrapped around the spot for a hotel which is on hold awaiting parts but the plan for the hotel should work quite nicely with the rest of the strip mall. We've also got a travel agency that is just waiting on an interior and some wall art (found some AWESOME travel posters that we'll be decorating with) but that should also be done in the next day or so. Posted up three today and hopefully two more tomorrow.
  21. After the move the Flat Rate Courier Shop has been rebranded into DupliBrix Copy & Courier. The building is on the northeast corner of the Main Street Strip Mall so we knocked out a wall and added in some windows while also significantly beefing up the interior. As with the rest of the strip mall buildings the exterior is the design work of the folks at Brick City Depot. The art work is all original but was certainly inspired by the work of BrickBuildersPro. Hope you enjoy. Here's the whole shop from the top down... This is the old interior from Brick City Depot... If you'd like to see more feel free to stop by here and here.
  22. Fancy That is actually a new addition to the Main Street Strip Mall. After the move we had a hole in the lineup around the new hotel's location and the costume shop plugged that hole right up. The exterior is meant to blend in seamlessly with the rest of the strip mall as designed by Brick City Depot and we went with yellow to keep the whole - every building looks the same but has a different color - theme. The interior of the shop is fairly simple and is being used primarily to display some of the collectible minifigs but we think it does the trick for the type of shop that it's supposed to be.By keeping it as simple as it is we've been able to really squeeze in as many 'costumes' as possible. Hope you enjoy. If you'd like to see more please click here or here.
  23. The End Zone is the second (of four) building that is part of the Main Street Strip Mall that's getting an interior update. Unlike the SAS Photo Studio which was re-purposed the End Zone was simply re-branded and the interior beefed up a bit. Hope you enjoy. The exterior of the shop is the work of the fine folks over at Brick City Depot. The shop's old interior... The shop's new interior... The display in the front window... The store clerk and a happy customer... As always for more you can click here and here.
  24. Very cool layout. Love the beach and the sky scrapers. Will have to look for it on YouTube.
  25. During the move we've had a lot of opportunity to move things around, think about additions to the city, and of course update older buildings. Years ago we asked the great folks over at Brick City Depot to put together a strip mall for our layout. Originally located opposite our row of modulars the strip mall has floated around the layout a few different times. Most recently we broke it up a bit and the five original buildings (and one new one soon to be posted) are now flanking the soon to be built Main Street Plaza Hotel. The flagship store of the mall used to be a clothing store. Having several others in the city we decided to rebrand and repurpose the store into a photo studio and SAS Photo Studios was born. Below are a few photos of the build - hope you enjoy. As usual, you can see more here and here.
