It does look beautiful! Did you use official string from LEGO or buy some from elsewhere? I recently acquired one in a lot but I don't have any string for the rigging.

I saw a box of them at Barnes & Noble, sitting next to a box of series 27. The F1 box hadn't been touched yet.

In all fairness, we go crazy over all factions that are brought back.

While I would prefer to have a more classic castle, I'm starving for smaller sets and would take a fantasy theme that could use yellow heads.

Where I live, CMFs are available at Best Buy, Kohl's, Barnes and Noble, Target, Meijer, and Walmart.

BrickScan can help identify where some of those parts came from, It's made identifying parts so much easier for me. I'm having a hard time tracking down which Castle set came with the large orange wheels. But like the others have said, that's an awesome find and overall more excited for you than jealous of you. The double dragon wall and arch are either from Fire Breathing Fortress or Majisto's Tower.

Maybe somewhere in the middle? I've bought bulk lots that had semi-built stuff and I was able to piece it together using the instructions. Sometimes it requires removing some of the elements to get back to a place where you can match it up with the instructions. I guess it also depends on the size of the set. If you're talking about a Star Destroyer it might be easier to start from scratch. If you're talking about a smaller ~$35 set than you can probably figure it out from the instructions.

A couple of years ago I was really proud of myself for finding someone selling the Black Falcon's Fortress for $35. They didn't know that's what they had, I just saw a few of the minifigures and the wall panels. Then about 18 months ago someone posted their child's collection (~2010) online for $100. I filled my car with the sets and containers. The entire trunk was full of bagged sets that I had dumped from her totes and laundry hampers. The backseat of my car had other containers full of sorted pieces. I still haven't gone through all of it. More than a dozen Star Wars sets; Turbo Tank, Z-95 Headhunter, Republic Attack Shuttle, Anakin's Jedi Star fighter, and loads of Clone, Droid, and Mandalorian battle packs. The entire 2013 Castle line, most of the Sponge Bob series, some Indiana Jones, City, Pirates, Marvel, DC, and Lone Ranger sets. My wife was confused and concerned when I brought the 3rd trip up and went back down for more. The downside of this is that it kind of ruins your (and especially supportive but not into it spouse's) expectations for what your going to get for ~$100.

I've seen it at a couple of local stores for 20 - 30 percent off, but they sold out pretty quickly. I would guess that if LEGO does discount the set it will be out of stock online and only available at a few of their brick and mortar stores, until they sell out.

Try the Code Scan app by Kurz. You're not trying to scan a QR code, but a data matrix code. I think they might be 3D data matrix codes, but don't quote me on that.

I found them at two stores, Target and Barnes & Noble. The boxes at Target had the codes, but I planned on buying them at B&N. When they put them out on Jan 1st at B&N half of the box of CMFs didn't have the codes. I love that the codes have been added! I can scan an entire box in less time than it took to feel some of the previous bags. I'm now stuck waiting for B&N to get more, or pay full price at Target. We get 10% off at B&N with their premium membership.

Thanks for the clarification. I incorrectly assumed that by shutting down new orders they weren't going to fill old orders. That all of the PaB resources were dedicated to missing bricks from the Christmas orders. And my Nov. 24th order has just shipped!

I would love to see the funny looks from the other shoppers in the store. But I do like that you don't have to buy, and have on you, a $10 scale to make sure I get the right $5 toy.

*stares longingly at his November 24th order* I added a small PAB order to my LKC order so I would still get the gift with purchase. The funny thing is that the castle and GWP have already arrived. I'm still waiting on the PAB order. I'm guessing that once the PAB order ships they'll charge me for the entire order, they still haven't charged me for the LKC. They sent me an email telling me that I needed to pay them for it. When I called they said that there wasn't an issue with my order. She also said that my PAB order would still ship before the shutdown. I'm not sure if it really will, but I'm hoping that she's right.

lol, no, it will be a Christmas 2023 gift. What I meant to say is that I don't think that she has bought me my main Christmas gift yet this year, and she will claim this is that large gift. She likes to buy me things that are useful, like a 6-in-1 air fryer or something that is more typically associated with what one would give a middle aged adult.

My Black Friday castle also was shipped well before the 60 days they stated it would. The funny thing was that I added a PaB order so I would get the GWPs. The castle and the GWPs arrived today, but the PaB order is still in the warehouse. Now my wife has stolen the castle and will be giving it to me for Christmas. I don't know if I should be excited that I get the castle ~30 days before I thought I would, or disappointed that I won't be getting something else for Christmas?

It's because locally, the stores that I can shop at don't tend to restock CMFs. Once the first box or two is gone, that's it. So when the local buyers buy them all, they're gone. Also, up until LEGO moved to boxes, I could feel them myself. I didn't have to pay the markup. I could go to the store soon after they were released, spend a few minutes in the LEGO isle and leave with the ones that I wanted. If I'm buying them online, I'm the one paying for the shipping. A popular $5 CMF is now$10 and would become closer to $15 after including the shipping and handling fees. And if I'm buying from Bricklink I have to hit the store minimum as well. If the resellers were buying straight from LEGO and not competing for the local stock, then I wouldn't have so much hate for them. I can tell locally when LEGO sets become available and where they are on sale buy watching my local Facebook Marketplace. Someone posts online that a LEGO set is on sale for 30% off, all the sudden that same set is being sold for 20% below retail on Facebook Marketplace. It's the same with new sets. Someone in the town next to me must have an in. He always has sets a week or so before they are in the stores.

Not sure where to post this, but a retailer has posted the new CMF series online. Basil is one beautiful Bat Lord. As to how I'm going to find him? I'm hoping someone will post the weights of the individual minifigs and I can find some in person. If not then I'll have to try the second hand market. I hate giving my money to scalpers, but it's that or gamble myself. I’m hoping I will get one. I added a small Pick a Brick order along with the castle. My GWPs are showing as pending, while my PaB order is in warehouse. I’m not thrilled with what they did with the set, but I would still be upset if I didn’t get one.
