Lego Brand Store Calendars for 2013
FuzzyBallz replied to GRogall's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've been so obsessed with the LEGO calendar that I dreamed about the October calendar already. The only problem is I forgot what was the bonus item. Doh! -
So I just read the 42008 review on technicbricks and the reviewer mentioned the need to install a 24T clutch gear between the motor and the gearbox. I've done this before on the container truck, but I'm such a noob that I can't figure out how to do it on the 42008 without photos. Can somebody with a 42008 show me where to install the 24t clutch gear? Thanks!
-
So I just want to get this cleared up. I found from the TechnicBricks review that to balance the "load," you need to have the 20t gears facing the same want, and not facing each other. But if that's the case, how come the reviewer still did it the way it's written in the instruction booklet?

Lego Brand Store Calendars for 2013
FuzzyBallz replied to GRogall's topic in General LEGO Discussion
lol, nice -
Even though I don't play minecraft, I think these minecraft LEGO sets would make great show pieces. I'm planning on getting all 3 in one order in September. That's gonna push my technic tow truck purchase back to October!

OMG, I just saw the September calendar. Now I need to order that VW bus. I love matching big and small models! I find it highly hilarious! *puts VW bus on the S@H cart for September purchase* -

I'll get getting a couple more of those Galaxy Squad Mechs this month looks like. Any idea when S@H will do 2x VIP points again. Might wait on my next Technic set purchase if it's coming in a couple of months. -

The microfigs for Batman and Helm's Deep look awesome! But I don't see either one on sale on S@H. Bummer. -
My number will be up for sale to the highest bidder. I hope it's 00666.

I'm the type of LEGO fan who builds every set based strictly on the manual, including the stickers. I don't break apart my models for mocs or to create other models, so I don't have any "spare" parts waiting around to build the tow truck. Buying all the pieces separately through bricklink is way too much trouble. I'll just hunt around and see if I'm lucky enough to actually get at least an used set.

Yes, many people tried this. See the thread below yours. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27795

People in the US who have received their order on Friday or Saturday, did you select overnight or next day shipping? Because I ordered mine on the 31st with Free Shipping, it was shipped out yesterday with schedule delivery on Wednesday by FedEx.

You're saving more money with the 79002, which has a MSRP of $50 compare to $30 for the 79006. You also get more pieces and figures for your money with the 79002. Although I like the minifigs in 79006 better, elrond and arwen. I wonder why it comes with a brick separator. Interesting. I'd get the 79002 for more figures and more interesting pieces.

So while browsing around tonight, I came upon the 8109 flatbed tow truck. When this model was introduced, I was really fascinated by the flatbed mechanism and told myself I need to get this. I saw this at TRU many times and it was on S@H for a while. But for some reason, I never got around to picking it up due to work and other obligations. And now that I have a little time to get back into Technic building, it's no longer available at retail outlets. I need to either pay double the MSRP price to the scalpers for a new set, or I'll have to fight with other AFOL for a used set on auction sites. Sigh... so stressful. I should've gotten it when I had the chance. Would look amazing next to the new 42008. So what's that one set that you really wanted but missed the chance to get it when it was new? I wanna hear it!

Ah, I remember the uniform on those soldiers. Used to have a pirate ship and imperial ship from that era. Good times. Loved the Castle series from that era as well. Don't know where all the sets went now. :(
-
Nice... I started with pirates, then castle, then star wars, and now I'm a full blown Technicaholic! I mean who buys $200 LEGO sets over and over again!? Oh wait...

I'm just gonna add another set of LED lights there so all 4 front lights can be on! And that's my mod for the day.
