  1. Lol! That was the first thing I noticed too!!! Great shed and detailing. I love the junk pile in the corner. Thats a great touch!
  2. Totally agree. The scalpers on eBay are going to have a field day with this one. I'm sure Lego will get caught up on the demand like they did with the Beatles set. The response from that set was overwhelming at first with people paying twice the amount. Lego caught up quickly though and I'm sure they will with this one after about a month after release. I hope they do at least :)
  3. I went on the Lego site last night and they have limited them to quantities of 5 each. I was really surprised by this. I don't remember them ever having such a low limit.
  4. Corn Cob and Rocket Boy almost feel the same except for the tip of the rocket. I've almost mixed them up a couple times now. Rocket Boy definitely seems to be the favorite from what I've come across so far. Some of the cases that had already been searched through were missing him. The saving grace will be people rushing through the cases and mixing up the two. (There are 5 Corn Cobs per case).
  5. There's certainly a lot of Big Boy fever going on since Union Pacific started work on overhauling number 4014 (planned to be operational in 2019). Nevertheless, outstanding model! I would love it if Lego released an official set of this. I don't have the time or skills to build something like this on my own. Great work!
  6. I thought this was a nice surprise. I normally keep up with the upcoming sets and I had no idea about this one. I bought the Mixer before it was retired and got a good price on it at the Lego store. I really don't want to drop $200 on it but I think it's too cool to pass up.
  7. I saw this on the Lego Facebook page today and got really excited. I started to wonder if we were ever going to see it. I'm definitely getting two of them. Maybe even a third...:)
  8. Soon you'll be able to find them everywhere. The distribution in the last few series has been overwhelming. I still find Series 16 and the Batman series all the time and in large quantities. I even come across the Disney series from time to time. Ive noticed that Target is keeping a large amount of them at their checkout lines now too. This makes it a little more difficult when you're trying to find specific figures. Also, Ive seen and heard that a lot of Walmart's are putting them out this weekend.
  9. Yeah, so much for the May 1st release date. They're everywhere, especially Walmart. I put a few sets together over the past week and half and today I hit the jackpot at another Walmart with 3 new untouched cases. The distribution seems to be plentiful in this series. Target seems to be the only one following the release date (most Target stores).
  10. I got 30 packs today thanks to a Reddit Lego Minifigures Series 17 sightings post. It was a completely fresh case at Walmart. I really hope the distribution on this series is as good as 16 was.
  11. That can't be a coincidence. The Rocket and Penguin guy?? Lego had to have seen these and rolled with it.
  12. First of all let me just say that I am a big fan of "weathered trains". I used to model N gauge and there wasn't a single "clean" loco or car on the track. When you're modeling like that the point is to get it as realistic as you can. I have thought about weathering Lego trains in the past with my airbrush but I don't have a Lego layout and didn't see a point to it. The various brick placement to give the impression of a weathered Lego train is brilliant. I think that is a fantastic idea and I like what you have posted so far. I think you should go for it and see how they turn out. On the flip side I can also see why a lot of people wouldn't like it. Lego trains don't have a great deal of realism and the real trick is getting them as close to the real thing as possible but in the end its obviously Lego. Paint details just don't seem to be a big concern with Lego train enthusiasts. I still think its a great idea and I think it could definitely look very cool.
  13. That's a sharp looking loco. Nice work. I'm more of an east coast rail guy but I do like the BNSF orange. I'm also a sucker for anything EMD. Again, nice work.
  14. I'm really excited about this series. I think I'm going to pick up a few cases of this one. I need that Rocket Boy figure!! I've seen a lot of negative reactions to the Mystery Figure thing and I have to say that I'm looking forward to it. They need to change things up from time to time.
  15. Lol. That is great! You nailed it! Awesome job.
  16. Wow. There is honesty and then there is just plain insulting. The review is an in depth unveiling of an upcoming series that many EB users look forward to (I've been reading them since Whitefang started them). I find it's a great way to get an up close view and several shots of the figures that make it easier to start the "feeling" process of the packs. I always find them entertaining as it is not your standard review. I understand everyone has their own tastes but bring it down a notch. I don't write the reviews but even I felt attacked reading your comments. Ps- He puts a lot of work into these reviews as well (A lot). Due to his relationship with TLG we get an early in-depth look at these series. Just something to think about.
  17. As always great review! I'm really looking forward to this series and I personally think it's one of the better ones we have had in a while. I even like the surfer due to the cool printed surfboard. I'm also in to the "mystery figure" idea. I like when they change things up to break the monotony.
  18. I think they're going to keep it as a mystery figure and not like the Mr. Gold thing. There will probably be 3 in each case but the "mystery" image will remain on the box and packs. We would have seen an image by now if it was just a standard character. They are probably just trying to change things up a little.
  19. Really nice work. The passenger car has great classic look to it and I especially like the interior. Also, the way you built the coal in the tender is really cool. Awesome job!
  20. Aaaahhhhhahahahahahahahhahahahaha! Yeah, seriously though. Thank you for saying something.
  21. I heard a drum and cymbal crash when I read this.
  22. Lol. I thought the same thing. Tough choice out of all of these... I'm not really a fan of any of them. Eh, I guess the Robot.
  23. That would basically be series 14 part 2 then.
  24. I have wondered for a while if Lego would ever do a costume series. Those are typically the most popular figures in the standard CMF line. I'm amazed at how much people are willing to pay for some of the older ones like the Bunny suit from series 7 to the Hot Dog Guy in 13. If this is truly the case and we do get a full "costume series" I imagine it will be a huge hit.
  25. Interesting point. I'd love to see their sales figures on average and how Series 10 sold alone On the whole Minifigures cost- I remember when Series 1 & 2 were $1.99 (US Dollar) per pack. They went to 2.99 at Series 3 and eventually $3.99 where we are now. Toys R Us debuted the Lego Batman series at $4.99 and I imagine it's only a matter of time until it's that way across the board with the other retailers. I'll probably stop collecting at that point.
