  1. I agree, a tower would be interesting. But it should be something well known like the One World Trade Center from NY or the Shard from London (they would look something like those 1/650 MOCs). I also (still) think a chinese temple would be something that could work very well in this bigger scale (Forbidden City or Angkor Wat). I just hope we will get anything this year ;)
  2. In a interview I think Jamie said that older buildings that are more intricate and detailed look better in Lego that modern ones. He also said that the Sydney Opera House performance was a bit underwhelming, so I guess we won’t be seeing modern architecture any time soon. BTW: I think the Opera House is a brilliant model, much better than Big Ben
  3. I could see either a detailed Eiffel Tower or a Chinese Temple happening. I would like to see (but it won’t happen) is a recreation of the Neuschwanstein Castle from Germany.
  4. Aesthetically pleasing bricks ;) https://flic.kr/p/RTBZqw https://flic.kr/p/2cVDqY7 Edit: I don't know how to add pictures to flickr. Could someone help me?
  5. It’s 14:05 CET, so 1h to go IF the rumours are true.
  6. I’m interested in what the architectural style will be. A petrol station feels like an American style- building. DD was really American-specific (the architecture and the concept of a "Downtown Diner"), so I hope for a more universal style (I wished for a Parisian-like modular, but it probably won’t happen)
  7. The "police sound" could mean that there will be a police vehicle being repaired in the rumored service station.
  8. Oh. No! I thought today will be the day. One more week of speculation I guess.
  9. I don't like the giant chimney in the Brick Bank (this was a waste of bricks and adds limited play value to something that is not really designed to play), but the money loundry joke was genius and didn't require any additional bricks. A storyline of sorts tied the modular together (Detectives office and cookie scheme, the money laundering: a bank and a laundromat, or a bakery and the dentist upstairs in AS). In Downtown Diner each floor seems to be accupied randomly by a different renter. The days of one purpose modulars are gone, but I would still like some consistancy between floors.
  10. Where did you read about the "musical" clue? I would guess it wouldn’t be the main thing. I’m thinking like a band playing in the attic/ top floor of the building. Or a street performer on the sidewalk. Yeah that is a cool concept but it requires an almost empty (dance) floor and a bunch of minifigs to work. This could also mean we could go to the 80s with vibrant outfits and crazy hairstyles. (But I don’t know about the architecture)
  11. Same! Maybe even longer. Some leaked images are always exiting, even if they are just a week before the official announcement. And I would like to know how I feel about it before Black Friday, so I can spend my money accordingly . I would guess an that the official images will be shown on monday or wensday next week, just after the promotions :/ [Oh. And do we know anything about a new creator expert world building set? Now when all original sets are gone (Tower Bridge & Big Ben) it would seem fair to see a replacement.]
  12. I thought you couldn’t just post pictures, but links were ok. Idk. Anyway thanks for the warning :P
  13. Yeah. I see it now ;) I hope something more will show up soon. (And @The_Nev you can search for some leaks on Instagram ;)
  14. Okay. So I guess a lego catalogue with a lot of new sets leaked. I’m wondering why an image of the new modular is not in it.
  15. Okay. The images leaked on Instagram. Paris looks amazing ?
  16. It's their most beloved modular, so I guess it should be selling quite well. The most surprising thing though is that the Tower Bridge is still around. I'm want it to be replaced by a newer addition to the world builng series.
  17. That’s exciting! DD reintroduced teal, so everything is possible
  18. Yeah. I can’t wait to see what will come. And I also hope I won’t be disappointed. As for my favorite modular I would have to give an unoriginal answer: Parisian Restaurant, though I really like the calmness of the PS as well. It looks great next to almost every modular I own. Although I really like the DD it doesn’t really match with the rest. And I would like some modular that will complement the Parisian Restaurant. Or something to match the Diner, like a Bauhaus (with the glass corner -OMG) or Art Deco style building. I guess now we know Lego can go in some crazy directions, so a Chinese architecture inspired set might be possible in the future (i don’t think now, 'coz this years modular was a major change too, so next year it should be a bit less desruptive)
  19. No-one was buing it or what? Why was it discontinued so fast? I managed to buy the PS, but the TH was already gone. It's not a bad set (mabye a bit boring), and a Town Hall is needed in every city.
  20. That’s why I also liked the DD. But it doesn’t fit really well with all the other modulars. What bothers me is that every floor wall is ca. 2 bricks shorter than all the other buildings. It looks more like those creator city buildings than a modular. What I would like to see is some kind of grocery store or a (super)market. The GG was released a long time ago and the people living in this imaginary city can go to the many restaurants, but can’t cook sth. for themselves. Oh. And I’m not really impressed with the idea of a service station or garage. Cars take up a lot of space and big gaping garage doors will look seriously bad. My ideal modular would be another Parisian style (this time corner) building. With this grand facade a hotel would work very well. And in the attic-like last floor they could fit something else.
  21. Teorethically I should be happy about the rerelease of the modular that’s at the top of my wishlist, but that would also mean Lego could rerelease some other modulars in the future, and that’s not what I would like. They would stop being as collectible as they are now. I would rather have a modular that’s inspired by the GG or just an entirely new model. Can’t wait to see what we’ll get ;)
  22. But if those numbers are true: 10265 - 3,93 kg - 48 x 11,8 x 28,2 cm they should result in ca. 3.500 pc (with the same pc/kg density like in DD) A lot of modular MOCs have 3.000-3.500 pieces, so I guess a 3 story corner building will work. So the price should be hovering around 205€/245$ That’s unfortunate, cause the familiar 150€ mark seemed to be a prefect balance between overall looks and price. On the other hand a 3rd in the row two story corner building would be weird.
  23. Yeah, and it could have been partially true. On YouTube there is a video where the designer tells that the Diner was intended to be a car dealership, but it didn’t work because of the too small footprint.
  24. Yeah, me too, but we'll have to wait at least another month for some serious leaks to come out. Every year lego is trying harder to keep its projects secret as long as possible. I would like to know at least the name of the next modular. Every year people are guessing the same things: a post office, a police station or a museum (that are generally important to every city and should sell quite well), but they are almost never right (we partially got a bakery in AS - as a pastry shop, without bread and a policewoman in DO). I don't have any other ideas though. Maybe a supermarket (unlikely) or furniture store of some type (?). I still think a post office would fit perfectly in the series. Now we also know that the modulars can be in very different architectural styles, but I hope for a more european, Parisian Restaurant style building, especially that it should retire soon. After Palace Cinema retired we got another very American building (DD), so a 19th centry-like style modular should be released to fill the vacant spot. But please no restaurants/diners! And this building should be a corner one, so a typical parisian one would be perfect for that. I guess another idea would be 2 half size holland style building (just like Pet Shop), that would look nice next to the Market Street. IDK I'm just rambling to relieve my excitement a bit - I just hope I won't be dissappointed (I still have a "second chance" to spent my money on the roumoured world building series set and the Architecture Paris Skyline).
  25. OMG! A free fall tower! That will be na epic set. Just as fun as the rollercoaster, if not more! And the footprint will also be much smaller. Thanks @PrisonBrick! Are there any news about the other set numbers?
