Many thanks for all your comments! Yes, in the last 4 years I have also dedicated myself to making other mocs that did not concern the winter village. wanted to experiment with new types of constructions and settings. Thanks again.

This kind of exercise, for those who know my history, has already been done in the past with a work of 5 consecutive years. You can see the result of my work that I have done with the latest complete version of my Winter Village that I brought to display in Madrid: Thank you! Thank's my friend! I wanted once again to highlight this work which meant a lot to me. But now I'm already working on new things ... (not winter village).

Hello everyone! At the beginning of the year my Chalet entered the third 2019 LEGO Ideas review after reaching 10,000 votes. We also know that the set unfortunately did not pass in the live vote on 23 June 2020. Regardless of the result that I would have obtained, I wanted to somehow thank all the people who wrote to me and all those who liked the Chalet. So I decided to create a Christmas landscape that "welcomes" the Chalet in a dignified way, that was a more "UCS" style model! The Winter Village theme is definitely not new to me (!) But for the first time in a moc I ventured into an entire moving scenario. There are 17 moving parts powered by a single LEGO XL motor or directly by hand with a lever on the back! The two bases transmit movement to each other through an axle technic that connects the two areas. Being raised I also carried out a project (in the pipeline for some time) that is to make the cellar of the Chalet accessible from the right front door. In the side part of the diorama I have also obtained a small cave of ice crystals that can be illuminated thanks to an adjacent compartment where I have also stored a small battery pack with a string of LED lights. The lights flow in the cave but also in the cellar of the chalet and I can also make them reach the interior rooms of the chalet to illuminate them at night. You can see all the moving parts by yourself in the small video I made (I apologize for the poor quality): The most complex part was not only to be able to "reach" the movement in the various areas of the diorama, but also to differentiate the speeds according to what had to be moved. It was a great challenge, but as always I had a lot of fun making it and the important thing is this! Merry Christmas! I dedicate this work to my dear friend Gianluca who is no longer with us. I hope you can admire it from up there. Flickr Gallery here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdrnet/albums/72157638607227773 Comments are welcome Sandro

Bravo Giacinto! I've always been your admirer and friend. I supported your project of the Duomo of Florence from the earliest times and it remains your most striking work. Congratulations also to the changes!

Thanks for the comments! Initially I wanted to make the classic spooky trees with pieces the black arms then I opted for the tentacles that gave an even more gloomy appearance. In my order of these tentacles I found other colors available besides black ... or dark tan, dark blue and dark red. So I decided to use them all and they created the right chromatic scene.

Thank you! I will certainly take your advice into consideration, even if I have little free space for a larger and more detailed boat.

When I was a kid I really liked Greek mythology, I read the stories of Greek myths and heroes and I was fascinated to discover the incredible adventures that they faced. Among the most known myths, what has always struck me is the story of Perseus and Medusa. There are various versions of the Perseus myth. But the most acclaimed one is this: "Perseus, son of Zeus, is asked to recover a magical and extremely dangerous object due to a dispute with King Polidette: the head of Medusa. Medusa was one of the three Gorgons, three sisters and monsters who lived in the far west of the world known by the Greeks. She had snakes instead of hair and a terrible power or that of petrifying anyone who looked at her. Perseus must go to the kingdom of the underworld and navigate the river Styx through the ferryman of souls, Charon. To succeed in his arduous undertaking, in this ghostly kingdom he will have to recover magical artifacts from the Graie and then discover the secret place where the temple of Medusa is located. Athena instead gave Perseus a mirror-polished shield telling him that he should look at Medusa only by reflection. Thanks to the shield of Athena, the helmet of Hades which makes invisible and a sickle, Perseus cut off the head of Medusa and placed it in a magic bag. With his head he also succeeded in freeing the beautiful Andromeda, his future bride, saving her from a terrible and huge sea monster freed by Poseidon. Still today you can admire the magnificent bronze sculpture of Perseus in the Signoria square in Florence (Italy)". With this modest work I have tried to recreate the main scene, with the Styx river and the ferryman Charon, the spooky environment and of course Perseus about to cut off the head of Medusa as he left his temple. The moc is embellished with a thread of microled hidden between the bricks to give light in this infernal place. The construction took me a month. The moc is made with about 3,900 pieces and will be presented for the first time at the MEI in Verona 2020 (Italy). Good viewing of the photos Greetings from Sandro Flickr Gallery: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdrnet/albums/72157690184763535

It's my fault. For lack of time I write a little about Eurobricks but know that I often follow the various sections of the forum! I find it one of the most interesting ever and always get new ideas! Thank you!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
sdrnet replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Whatever it is, I'd love to use one of these colors in large quantities: 1) sand red (!!!) 2) bright light yellow (cool yellow) They are two colors with little diffusion (above all the first one!) and that personally would allow me to make new very interesting moc. -

Yesterday my Winter Chalet project reached 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas! It is an important goal for me, a dream that has come true! I want to thank all the friends and AFOL supporters of the project. Without you I would never have succeeded. Now I just have to wait to see the results of the Review ... Thank you all! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/849c03ee-e2ae-41d5-9450-6efa53808340

In a distant December 2013 I presented here on EuroBricks a moc to which I am particularly attached: the Winter Chalet! This building took part like many others in my winter village which year after year became an ever larger diorama. Given the interest I decided to include (several years later) the Winter Chalet on LEGO Ideas and immediately had a great success! I didn't think I would get that high on the score score. I have never done too much publicity on this project but now there are less than 2000 votes to reach the summit and I need you! Even if maybe it will never become a LEGO set I would love to get up there ... If you haven't seen or known it yet, go and see my video that I uploaded to YouTube: If you like this project, help me support it! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/849c03ee-e2ae-41d5-9450-6efa53808340 Let your friends know about it, help me reach 10,000 votes. Thank you so much for your support! Sandro

Among the many ideas written in my "To do list" this time the project of a town in Bavaria prevailed, a well-known geographical area of Germany that I visited only during my photographic journey in the Black Forest several years ago. The inspiration base is the famous city of Rothenburg; as always I wanted to take inspiration but then re-inventing in my own way. This moc has required me a job of precision above all for the part of the road base. I wanted to create a pedestrian street with curves, inclinations and slopes. I built 6 buildings in all: two houses, a bakery, a toy store, a bar / brewery with the little square, the clock tower. For the bakery and the bar / brewery I also decided to make the furnishings that can be seen well because I left the usual sectioned walls to observe the interior of the houses. Speaking of numbers, the town has required me 6 months of work, based on 6 bases of 32 and is composed of about 13,700 pieces (of which 990 tiles are 1x2 LBG). There are also 35 minifigs and, as usual in every my moc, some quite rare pieces. It will be presented for the first time in two days in Lecco 2019 (Italy). As we are close to Christmas, I wanted to present some photos of my Diorama Winter Village in the full 2018 version, never presented before. This landscape completed in 2016 is the result of 5 years of work. Each building from the smallest to the largest has been built with a continuous search for quality and study in the details of the interior furnishings. The diorama currently consists of 42 bases of 32x32 studs with 300 minifigs and over 62,000 pieces. I was fortunate to have been called to exhibit my complete work at the "Palacio de Gaviria" art museum, Madrid, Spain for a period of 3 months from 10 December 2018 to 24 February 2019. On my Flickr profile you can see some other photos as a whole and in the other Albums you can see the details of each individual building that make up the village. Thank you all for your comments and for the vision of my project! Greetings from Sandro Flickr Gallery: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdrnet/albums/72157676542427648

Thanks to all those who wanted to leave a comment! I had to build this moc quickly but I'm glad I did it and I had a lot of fun. During the Verona fair (MEI 2018 Italy) it was a great success!
