  1. Personally I find this line to be not well marketed at all. Last year I looked for it in ToysCenter (Toys'r'us equivalent in Italy) and other toy shops but found none till mid october, when they pop-ed up in a couple minor stores. On the other hand, I saw almost all the sets well displayed in an American Toys'r'us last summer Picking the two sets I wanted this year via Shop@Home seemed the best way to avoid facing the same marketing patter again. 3. Please check the Tutorials section for info on how to post and deeplink images. Often, it is better to upload images on a free online hosting site (like Brickshelf, Flickr, MOCpages...) than using attachments in your posts. Please PM me or other staff members if you have further problems: we'll try to solve them without messing this topic more. Hope this helps you. LuxorV
  4. Congratulations to Oky Wan, really deserved to win! Compliments to all the entrants too, for the high quality and inventive entries and the fun the shared in this contest. Finally, thanks to Siegfried for organising and directing this little madness LuxorV
  5. Hi all, as some of you may know, even not being a fanatic Bionicle collector, I quite liked the theme and collected some sets. Today I'd like to share with you a little reviow of one of the smallest sets from this line: the 1441 Fikou, or tree spider. Originally designed as a sort of Easter Egg, combination of parts from Pohatu and Onua in 2001, this funny (at least in my view) creature saw life on its own and a new carapax colour in 2003 (which also makes it the first Bionicle set I bought). Let's begin with the package, or more correctly the polybag (image from the web... mine is dispersed somewhere in the big box where I store my sets' boxes) The art is quite simple, and is not so intuitive from this scene that the creature is a tree spider (for long years I thought it to be a land spider ) The bag includes the following pieces and a one page (front and back) instruction sheet Inventory curtesy of BrickLink. As far as I know, no new parts or colours were introduced with this set. A random (it was very hadr to choose between the two ) page of the instructions (scan courtesy of The Brickfactory) A mid-build shot You can see how fast the set takes its final shape, as can be easily expected with 13 pieces. Finished set, our spider is ready to climb on the nearest tree! I'm not a fanatic of votes, so I'll limit my résumé to a few lines of personal consideration: probably not the most innovative set, given its design had been used already in 2001 (two years before its release), nonetheless allows people to have a complete little set even when not owning Pohatu and Onua; of course, not the biggest parts-wise quite limited, but can be a good pats-pack to boost your Bionicle collection, given the small price. All in all, I really enjoyed this little set, and used to make brick-built semi-Bionicle robots to sport the mask and claws untill I got some bigger sets. Hope you enjoyed this review LuxorV
  6. Yes, I know. We all sometimes face this confusing moments Let's say that when custom parts are a significative part of the 'MOC', then they find their best place here. Btw, it looks kinda strange to see Prince Dastan turned into a Death Eater going around in a post-apoc world (first pic, the one on the right) LuxorV
  7. Thanks for sharing these designs, Lilsniffs! It's nice to see this kind of 'generic town people' decals pop up from time to time LuxorV
  8. Nice figures, Aanchir Can I ask you to reduce the image size to 800 pixels max, please? Thank you LuxorV
  9. As long as members do not use discussion topics for more or less hidden promotion and advertising, feel free to discuss. It enriches the community @ commdr_neyo - being this about experience with customs, it can stay here in the customs' home LuxorV
  10. Nice figs, Commander Tac! They really look strong enough to make it through an apocalypse. P.S.: I'll move this to the Minifig Customisation Workshop LuxorV
  11. Welcome to Eurobricks (well, the online side of it) sotis96! Looks like the family gets bigger with each event! Who'll be next? LuxorV
  12. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun and loot! Welcome back You know, Photoshop has avery nice 'History' tool, where you can record actions and repeat then automatically LuxorV
  13. I hope this won't turn into a madness and for now I do not see the need for a separate topic. If a discussion should arise, I'll take care of separating the two topics. As far as the online LEGO community goes, it is accepted that when you post a model or custom online, anybody can take inspiration from it. For decals, it's impicitly agreed that you allow other users to print them and use them in their MOCs (if you want to prevent it at all, you have to watermark the design with your logo or something similar), as long as they give credit when showing them off. Personally, I see printing and selling someone else's decals without previous authorisation as a very inappropriate thing. Most decal makers are widely known in the community, and we usually accompain the link to the decal with the name of the author, so it is not difficult to idenitfy him/her. We do not make this designs for profit and we wouldn't like to see somebody else exploit them to enrich themselves! So, private use is welcome, commercial use should be discussed and agreed upon with the original designer. This is my opinion. LuxorV
  14. Nice picture so far, Front. I'm just a bit worried about you, though: first you say this is 2009's event, and then you think this is already May! I corrected the topic title and description, but you should ask Holodoc to see after you LuxorV
  15. I'm glad you like the review. With such cool items, it's easy to make a good one Yes they are; it's a cool colour and I think it is perfect for this kind of items! As far as I know these are colour/mold prototypes; the enigma that is badger was so kind to include a bunch of them along with the regular BA items. LuxorV
  16. Hi all fellow customisers, today I want to share with you this little review of the latest weapons pack by BrickArms: the Sci-Fi Pack. We start off with a pic of the weapons in this pack: Let's follow an approximate order from top left to bottom right and go to see the first item: the Plasma Blade Perfect in design, this is a very accurate replica of one of my (and probably everybody's) weapon from the Halo series. The sleek form and the accuminate edges spell love at first sight! Second is the High Caliber Sniper Rifle w/flame suppressor, accompained by the Fragmentation Grenade This two items are a must for every space marine wanting to explore the galaxy with any chances of making it back in one piece. The sniper rifle is by far the strongest weapon in the pack, and the fragmentation grenade is its perfect companion for taking enemies from afar. Another great tool when dealing with hostile natives is the sleek, but versatile AC8 With its modular interchangable parts and light weight polimeric frame, it is the ordinance weapon of the best peace-keeping forces along the Galaxy. A classic space weapon, how could the Photon Pistol be left out of the bunch! As long as you have one of these (and you're not wearing a Red Shirt), you can explore the strangest and most dangerous corners of the Galaxy's sectors with the certainty that Scotty will pick you up alive. But space is not only last-frontier exploration. Even on the most civilised planets, guerrilla is just a step away. If you find yourself into an urban combat scenario, what best items to have with you then the Apoc SMG and the handy BuzzSaw? Come on, do they really need more introduction? Now to the last three, starting with the Plasma Pistol Probably not as elegant as a lightsabre, or as classic as the Photon Pistol, this weapon is still one hell of a sidegun. The only con is we still don't know how to recharge the battery! On the other hand, this Gunblade never finishes the ammo! As you can imagine, it is a bit loud to carry on a passenger ship, but when you go around with one of these, you'll soon be memorable! Last of the bunch (and my personal favourite in the latest wave) is the Needle Gun Sturdy looking and menacingly spikey, this gun shoots meta-stable mineral needle which explode after 3 seconds the enbed into the target. To awoid the risks of friendly fire, they are implemented with a feromone-tracking sensor of some sort which allows them to 'capture' the target and follow it upon short distances. And, we know how to recharge this baby! What more could you possibly ask? I hope you liked this review as much as I liked this weapons pack, and to top it, please enjoy this little comic involving our beloved Event Administrator Ras! LuxorV
  17. I'm quite sure this is not ment to be mentioned in public. If you are a Beta tester, you have agreed to the Declaration of secrecy, which means you must not post information on the game and related activities in public. I'll close this now and cancel the mail content. LuxorV
  18. Be especially careful when posting ironic question around here! LuxorV
  19. Pinned ther! That's more or less as I planned it On the other hand, unfortunately, I'm not into brickfilming, since I still need to accessoriate my LEGO room for good photography, before I can do something that complex. Planning ahead, though, I'll try to keep in mind this plot and, who know, one day it may become 'alive' Thanks again to all, and especially to Siegfried for organising this funny contest! LuxorV

  21. Playing '74-'75 (The Connells). Orginally searching for Iris (Goo Goo Dolls), on the same CD. Previous one was Our Farewell (Within Temptation)... yes, it's a rainy day here LuxorV
  22. Probably should have posted last Sunday Ordered Almut, Fight for the Dagger and X-wing Fighter (I'll finally get the right head for a flesh version of my sigfig, in addition to a great set!). Pack should arrive next week LuxorV
  23. For once, I'd like to make, if not a proper request, and invitation to you EB decal and custom parts makers: being this our official Prince of Persia Months, I'd like to see some customs inspired by this theme! Perhaps other people owning Prince of Persia original parts are satisfied with them. On my side, I'd like to see something more, maybe coming from the games series, too. I'm curious to see what custom parts or pieces and decal prints our prominent customisers and also new artists can come up with. Probably, a lot of other people are interested in expanding the theme, too. I'm sure that a lot of customs can PoP from this theme LuxorV
  24. Perfect job on these guys, Bobskink! Very detailed ornaments and, well, ... fur Of all your works, these, along with the Predators, are on top of my list Perhaps you'll consider making some PoP customs too (like the sand creaturs from the videogames)? I'd love to see them! LuxorV
