  1. Well, it always comes the time for a change. And, I still have my Heart of Gold tag, at least. So cheer up LuxorV
  2. Thanks for sharing this review, Jjsthekid. As a small tip, I'd suggest you to check your camera's settings for compensating light shifts; it could be useful to adjust them depending on the light source (sun, flood light, incandescent ligt bulb, ...) in order to get more balanced colours (unlike I did in one of my recent MOCs... ) I wholeheartedly subscribe to that LuxorV
  3. Got a new one after a long while: Seeker of clams - because I'm a palaeontologist and seek for fossil flat clams. Probably given by Siegfried. On a side note, this is my first non-HHGTTG related title. LuxorV
  4. Congratulations Peppermint! And, as the LEGO ads say: You control the Action LuxorV
  5. Great job on the Crobat, tin7, I really like it Not totally sure about Ash at first glance, but the more I look at him, the more I get the positive vibe. LuxorV
  6. Thanks Eskallon and Zorro for the feedback No, no; it's just a bad lighting effect on the photo . You can see form the other pics that the bottom 5 bricks' rows are black, the rocks are either dark grey or dark bley, and the gate is (reddish) brown. Quite unfortunately, that is the most complete pic I have, and the one chosen by Svelte for the frontpage; so I understand it may generate the strangest impressions about the colours I used LuxorV
  7. Nice rendition, woodearth! And great use of the PoP parts. P.S.: I'm moving this to the Minifig Customisation Worshop LuxorV
  8. Yours is 159x120 pixels, 8.17 Kb. As for the rules, it is acceptable, being hosted remotely: LuxorV
  9. I'm sorry you can't see the light side of this forum and our moderation, 'cause I grant you there are a lot of 'lightened up' posts by the Staff, too. I'll just add to what the Hinckley and Sir Dillon already said that the topic was closed for a simple reason: maybe you were not aware of it, but there is already a topic for members to show their purchases and keep track of them; try this link As Siegfried wrote, the closed topic is ment to be merged with the existing one. I'm pretty sure he left it separated just to make sure you were able to see it and to avoid having you wonder why your topic wasn't there anymore. EDIT (after seeing Erdy's post above) - see what happens when you make a complex post with proper links? Faster people steal your reply! LuxorV
  10. Two of the best LEGO customisers in our forum share with us their take on the super concept: tin7 with his X-men superheroes team and The Penguin with his many Batman supevillains (Click on the pics to jump into the action and discussion in the Minifig Customisation Workshop)

  12. Another solution is to use the link to the Log-in page on the top on each forum page. That makes you pass through another way and you soon return to the forum you were already browsing. It's very useful when you did not just open EB, but are already into a topic and want to add a comment. LuxorV
  13. Thanks all for the positive feedback! And to Svelte for the big surprise; when I realised it was on FP, I was toattly speackless for about 5 minutes Thank you. The rock work took me about 2 hours, and all my Bley, Brown and Green cheese slopes, but I'm really glad I made it. I think it is one of the most beautiful parts of the MOC by an aesthetics point of view Well, I played the game just once few months ago (inspired to try it by the up-coming film), and I really enjoyed it, too. I added as much details as I remembered (I did not feel like re-playing all those levels to get to this one for a closer look ) and I'm glad players do recognise and appreciate them. As for the sand zombies and their overscale weapons, they were one of the first concept I developed along with the Hourglass and I played with their weapons a bit before getting to the half cartoon-ish style I wanted to get. The game was released in 2003, and it's the first of a trilogy including two sequels, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (more dark and gothic) and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (which I did not play, but sees the Prince turn into his sand-corrupted alter-ego in some parts), released in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Unfortunately (or fortunately from another point of view), there is no Staff category in this contest, so no. Well, great minds work in the same ways As said before, the sand creatures where one of the first concepts I worked on. I really like the variety of 'designs' and skills they have in the game and I wanted to render part of them through our loved bricks! You could not be more right about the 'under wraps' part: I completed this in one week after the theme month started, and kept it under a (white and green) wrap untill now, waiting for a Staff category to appear... Well, at least, I get many good comments and do not have to see it fall befor better builders/opponents' MOCs I must now recognise I took a lot of wrong-angled photos. If I took some from the left side, you'd be able to see more of the 'studs-in-the-wall' pattern which indicates the way the Prince climbs the tower... Well, I hope you can get it well enough from the current ones nontheless. If you're still going to make that Riddler's MOC, feel free to try this technique! There is also a bit of story behind its design: I built it in my mind during a car travel (I wasn't driving!) to my grandmother and I had to wait a few days before I could see if it really worked in actual bricks. Fortunately, it did! Thanks again. From what I've seen from the trailer and the LEGO sets, the stroy is quite different from the 2003's game with the same name, which is in its turn different from the original MS-DOS and Macintosh game I would not be so sure, with Hinckley and Svelte, as well as others like Erdy in an eventual Staff category. Good, I'll ask Ubisoft to pass me a percentual on the sale, then LuxorV
  14. Hi people, since the PoP months is nearing its end, I think it's about time to introduce my diorama. It's inspired to one of the last levels in the Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time videogame (just a bit scaled down). Our Prince (who does not have a name in the videogame series) finds himself at the base of the Tower of Dawn, and has to climb it from the outside to reach the chamber where the Hourglass of Time is to seal it with the Dagger of Time (which is currently in the hands of Princess Farah...). Let's start with a old-styled sepia picture of the overall diorama (the 5 bricks tall black border at the bottom is done on purpose to reproduce most videogames' black 'out of the playable' or 'beyond the death edge' pits): Detailing of the broken bridge and the tower portal were the level starts. Note the guards turned into sand creatures by the corruption of the Sands of Time: The Prince has to wall-run, jump, climb and jump again from one side of the tower to the other to reach the opening from which to enter the Hourglass chamber. Overall shot: The Hourglass chamber with the evil Vizier (who does not have a name, too; don't worry if you cannot make him out, he's better seen in the next pic): (you can see by the different colour, the whole project started with this chamber alone, and then developed with the rest of the tower...) The Hourglass itself (I must un-modestly say that I'm very pleased with how this turned out ): A shot of the Prince jumping from a beam to the other: And, to conclude, a shot of the fountain: the most precious spot in most level, since here is where the Prince can drink and so re-generate his health The Brickshelf gallery, which contains more pics. Hope you liked it. Comments and critics, especially by players of the game, are welcome. LuxorV
  15. Happy Birthday Shadows! May this day be filled with happyness and joy LuxorV
  16. Indeed, this can be a 'warning', or at least a reference discussion topic for the future. But, we do not like to have topics thrown in just to start a discussion while the poster who made the original question does not partecipate at all. LuxorV
  17. I'm not sure this is right shape. I hope it's ok; if it isn't please let me know. Oh, and it's for a pannel or wall section of 40x40 millimeters or 1.58x1.58 inches. If you wanted the badge, too, let me know as well LuxorV
  18. At the cost of sounding very very boring, these are restricted information for Beta testers only. If you are a Beta tester, you can see the opening times on the game launcher window. Otherwise, you do not need them. Next time, please PM one of the Beta testers whose names can be found in this topic. LuxorV
  19. Happy Birthday my friend! May you have a very happy day with your loved ones LuxorV
  20. I'm not an expert, since I never used any of these, but fom other work experiances (and the descriptions in this tutorial), I'd say they are 1) a sort of glue for decals, and 2) a solution which 'softens' the material the decal is made of so that it bends and doesn't tend to peel off the part for it's own rigidity (like when you soften a paper with water-based glues to wrap it around rounded objects). LuxorV
  21. Personally, I don't see a great use in glue-ing LEGO sets, unless you tend to make them fall too often . Or are you talking about display-only sets, like they do in LEGO shops and parks? Perhaps a few more words on why you got this idea could be useful in directing the discussion and will get you more useful advices LuxorV
  22. Nice posters, Severus. Thanks for sharing them. Oh, you're probably referring to The Joker Henchmen Jacket in Purple and Black – from DC comics! Those decals were made by Capt. Kirk; I just added them to the index P.S.: I reduced the text size a bit: 'Impact' is already an eye-catching enough a font, it doesn't need to be size 6 LuxorV
  23. Precisely. That's the main purpose; as a general rule of our board, a little fun is welcome as long as it does not become spamming On the other hand, asking for titles is very unwelcome and usually results in not getting any, just like asking for tags in their dedidated thread. Please, people mind your posting, but do not be intimidated! LuxorV
  24. Thanks for this nice review, Dutch! How strong are the joints? Do the snap and stay in pretty good, or do thei tend to pop away? Two reasons: 'cause they have basic standard design and not all need a binocular (which could severily constrain the visual field), and because there is where your head is and you wouldn't want to cut a slice off to make space for the binoculars, right . LuxorV
  25. Would seem this is the time of the year when bagged animals start to pop around! Thanks for this nice review, Inconspicuous A little set with diffrent shades of green is always welcome. LuxorV
