    Wookies!

Probably most of you already know the great talent of our member and customiser Bobskink. Only someone living in a 'galaxy far far away', where there are no LEGO forums, could not know about his works! Perhaps, looking at his latest creation, you'll recognise the style and, of course, you'll drool with excitement, hoping TLG would make some of these fierce Wookie warriors into their sets. 3. Another beautiful work, tin7! I especially like how you posed them instead of making 2 plain stars; Starmie's Water Pulse looks great LuxorV
  4. Thanks both for the positive feedback LuxorV
  5. Hi lt.Gonville brickhead, thanks for sharing these decals. As you see, I resized and deeplinked the pictures. You can look into our tutorial section for tips on how to do this yourself And, I'm I right in thinking you edited these from Lamanda (previously you wrote laman )? LuxorV
  6. Happy Birthday Izzy! Have a great day and prepare and fortify youself for the next days follies with that group of strange people you subbornly decided to hang off with LuxorV
  7. As far as I can see with a fast browse in the Great Pirates Library (North America section), none of the decals come from designers there. They seem to be re-editings of the old Wild West infantry soldiers like those by Lamanda (Wesretn decals index), but without the 'US' in the buckle. They could be stolen and modified from Lamanda's, but I think it's just they both used the same, common basic design for inspiration. As for the presidents, I do not recognise any design from our libraries, but maybe other members will know where they come from, or will know the seller is, and if she uses to copy others' designs or if it's again a case of being inspired by the same basic model. Even if it's hard to accept when you think someone stole your ideas, you have to agree that there are but few ways of making a certain model into LEGO and keep it recognisable. At times it happens that two totally independent builders come up with almost identical designs for the same real life object. LuxorV
  8. First of all, I'd like to thank all those who voted for me and to say I'm happy you liked my creation. As Batbrick perfectly summarised, I wanted to give it a classic cartoon feel, and it would seem I was able to get it quite well . Now to the votes: 1° whacker: Dunjohn 2° whacker: MrTools Both entries struck me for the creativity and for showing me a way of the whacking I would have never thought of personally. Nonetheless, all the entries are creative and convey a sense of the whacking which shall be remembered for a long time LuxorV
  9. For all those interested, I did not forget about these MOCs, and today I finally show you the most recent one. It has been sitting (well, standing ) on my shelf for about one month now (yes, I've been lazy and never got around to take the pictures ). Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the Big One, the huge robot which attacks the town generators at the beginning of the film! (again, no stickers were used; what you see, apart from the model itself, was made via Photoshop) The scale is not 1:1 with the rest of the MOCs in this series, but it his half scale, as the feet should be as big as a (police) car*. (* see the film to check) More picture can be found in this BrickShelf gallery (sorry about the not so perfect quality of some; we had a couple of cloudy week-end in here, and I could not get good lighting ). Hope you like it. Comments and critics are welcome LuxorV
  10. You sure? Then I'll have to change the names of Templars, Templar Flag, Templar w/dust #1 and Templar w/dust #2? LuxorV
  11. Nice smal scale dino, YG-49. I like the techniques you used for the legs and (apart from the colour scheme, which is too eye-catching for me [remember this is a predator, but not a venomous species]) the head. One question: how sturdy is the head/neck connection? LuxorV
  12. Well, there's at leats another one in the King Arthur saga, if I remember correctly. But indeed that's not the best kind of ground to fight onto LuxorV
  13. That's one of the most challenging things about this kind of contest: you have to make up your mind and hold an inner vote to decide which possible entry you think has the greatest potential. It all adds to the exitement and usually prevents floods of semi-final entries, inviting people to submit only well rounded ones. Trust me, I know, since I used to make a lot of entries just for the excitement of the contest basic idea, and never ended winning a thing because all of them had a particle of the right feel, but it was too split into them all and none got a top score Then, right when I realised how to do it, I became Staff and lost the chance of winning again (not considering the MOCing giants between ous Staff, which makes competition all the harder ) @ Alldarker - try searching them through their set number: they are there, only they are not officially listed yet LuxorV
  14. Happy Birthday Zorro! Hurry up finishing the fight, and go to eat the cake and open the presents LuxorV
  15. Mind elaborating, like adding a 'hello', 'please', 'thank you' and also some referenc pics? Thanks LuxorV
  16. Up to now, there are 23 members who result from Italy (i.e., they where willing to fill the Country tag in their profile); another handful do not result from a country search, but I know they are Italian. Unfortunately, most of them are either new members who never get around to take part in the community or old users who do not post anymore. A surely very active one is The Cobra; another couple relatively active ones are Fede78 and SalvoBrick, who come around from time to time. These may seem very few, on the other hand, in the web statistics, Italian users result to be among the most frequent visitors to Eurobricks. I fear the English only text scares most away, and the not so good LEGO availability in our country may be another reason. So, if you know any other fans of LEGO, please invite them to join our site! See you around LuxorV
  17. Nice one, and all too real even when you have your collection 95% sorted out! Did he really put his girl(s) in a blue basket?!? LuxorV
  18. Ciao Calabar! Good to see a new Italian member around While waiting to see your creations (don't worry about pieces availability too much: a good MOC is always good, even if made with few and old parts!), would you mind sharing a bit more about your LEGO hobby: what themes do you prefer and such? LuxorV
  19. Next up is the Team Maito (no number this time). Gai Maito Yellow and Flesh Neji Hyuga Yellow and Flesh Rock Lee Yellow and Flesh Tenten (my favourite female character from the series) Yellow and Flesh Arms and legs' decals may come after I finish the main characters torsos and faces. LuxorV
  20. We have some Teutonic Knights/Templars' decals by TinyPiesRUs in the Castle Decals Index LuxorV
