Yeh, but LEGO aren't beyond playing to us nerds. We got Nik Sant in 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium, after all. -

I like it well enough. But it's missing Willrow Hood. -

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!

Perhaps because LEGO Jawas can't sit down? (small legs that aren't articulated) -
Please slap my wrists if this is wildly off topic, but the psychologist Robert Cialdini gives a possible reason in his book of 'Influence', which was told to him by a friend who works in the toy industry. It's about how almost every year, the number one toy at Christmas is undersupplied. Cialdini says that toy companies might do this deliberately, and it is in response to the lull in sales that occurs in January. For years, toy companies have tried to address this lull but to no avail. But one thing has impacted it: advertising in the run-up to Christmas and then undersupplying. What he says happens is that kids see the adverts and nag their parents. Parents make promises that they will get this toy for Christmas. They then fail to buy it because it is undersupplied. To assuage their guilt, they will then buy something of equal value for Christmas. The companies then re-supply and re-advertise the must-have item after Christmas. Not wanting to go back on their earlier promise, parents then buy this too. So the companies double their money. One could, feasibly, see how this applies here. People want the MF. They can't get it, so to make up for their loss, they buy something else. They then get the MF too when that restocks. Just a theory. Sorry if it is too far off topic.

This is brilliant. And also, the first time a carrot has ever graced the surfaces of a food truck.
-
I'm pleased with your phrasing here because the phrase "I like your chopper" would have a very different meaning in the UK.
-
I'm certain that there are more kids who WILL buy the book because of the Luke than there are AFOLs who won't buy it because of the minifugure, so I would doubt that they lost a sale over this.
-
It's not too far off in price as 10188 Death Star in the UK. Hmmm.

I'd like to see Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru's moisture farm.

I suppose there is precedent for a Jeremy Clarkson minifigure. Most of the superheroes villains are evil, bigoted *******s too.

There is always a focus on vehicles, but classic scenes are always my favourite sets. I'd love a Cantina cutaway interior, a bit like Stark's Malibu Mansion. Heck, I'd take any number of OT scenes in this style.

One word: scooter. I've been waiting for an official one for a while. This whole thing looks beautiful. Just take a look at that kitchen!

Why is it "a US based target more than anything"?

Surely the fact that "true LEGO fans" aren't taking these projects to 10,000, it means they aren't commercially viable? By narrowing down the audience, you are making them even more niche. LEGO is a business, and being able to get "cult-followers" from outside interested and buying LEGO is one of TLG's masterstrokes here. They are widening their audience. You want to narrow it. Remind me never to invest in your business. ;)

How long is it since we had a plain old simple Jawa?!
-
Well if it doesn't sell, TLG just can just rebox it as LEGO Star Wars Battle of Hoth Diorama Builder Set.

Weetabix Promotional LEGO sets....
Thego replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm too young to remember these, but I do remember getting some Classic Space sets from a Persil washing powder promo in the early eighties in the UK. -
That's Ten Numb.

We are displeased by TLC's customer service
Thego replied to Kumpelkante's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's a shame. In all my experience with TLG's Customer Service, they have gone out of their way to be helpful and to resolve issues. In fact, I don't know a company that has as good customer care as TLG. I hope they resolve your issue. -
I don't really get the theory that this Han could be in a set. He's clearly an "Easter Egg" figure and, other than perhaps being included in a DK Lego book, May 4th promo is the perfect place for him.
-
That's got to be the May 4th promo, surely?

You'd think a 1x1 round tile would be more fitting for a pocket watch? Like for Harvey Dent's coin.
-
What is it about Jonny Depp minifigures that they've always got to be carrying a 1x1 tile compass?
