Looking at the new Monkie Boy sets, the ends of his staff are extra long lightsaber handles!! Hopefully we'll get a Darth Maul with a longer handle soon, since Lego will have the mold!

[MOC] Huge Rogue Shadow with full interior!
DrMuttonchops replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just... Wow. This is one of the best MOCs I've seen. Amazing detail, it looks like it's minifig scale! I don't have any critiques or suggestions and you satisfied all my picture wants as well! You said it wl took a year to build, how long did it take you to design? Did you have to fine tune it as you went along? Do you know how many parts it took? I love all the details man, it's brimming with character. The med bay is great (especially the bed/pod!), the sparring room is stellar, Starkiller's room is awesome... It's so good. Fantastic job, you are amazing.- 49 replies

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
DrMuttonchops replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not sure if this has been asked before, but any ideas as to why TLG stopped using the 6x6 hinged dish for the TIE canopy tops? It's such a great piece and works better than the old 4x4 radar dish on a hinged plate. -
Very well done, Veynom! Honestly when I watched the show I assumed it was a Rogue-class starfighter... Great job on the detail and shaping, it's a dead ringer for the concept art. I love seeing the old yellow engine pods (part 3475b?), they remind me of the ships I built as a kid! Does the landing gear retract? Any shots of the SNOT structure or cockpit? Also, what set has green binoculars?? Really excellent job man, thank you for posting!

Nicely detailed vignette, I like the stripped-down engine! The WED Treadwell droid is nicely done as is the overall mechanical clutter.

"Not great... Not terrible." Seriously though you nailed the aesthetic of a Russian nuclear facility perfectly! Great color and fantastic details, the cable management is awesome. The minifig fits perfectly too, right down to the hat! My only suggestion is pedantic, maybe rotate some of the 1x1 gauges and the 1x1 red/black dot tiles to make it look like there are different levels? Other than that it's a spot-on recreation!

Looks great man, similar to the Jedi Defender-class Cruiser from the SWTOR line. Good job using mostly parts you had on hand, but you've got a of space in the cockpit that you could do something cool with! Could be storage, bunks, or an armory, just ideas. I'm not a huge fan of the turrets, maybe use part 4697b in the 1x1 clip and make them posable double canons? Not sure, I just like mine to be posable! Good job with the colors and greebling too! Any landing gear? You could always build some mini starfighters to dock with it!

Saw the photos on your Flickr Koz, the build looks great! Even better than the render. The cockpit especially looks stellar.

The colors are really close from the photo, I was really thrown! Good to know, thanks man. The CMF Barbara Gordon (sh328) does have medium nougat arms with black sleeves if you need another set and don't want to erase. Fingers crossed on a Firestar one, honestly I hope they do a Cara Dune head too as this one doesn't do much for me for some reason.

Wspaniały, love the shaping and that it's studless! The bow canons threw me for a second, I was used to the ball turrets from Rebels. Great work on the cockpit interior, you jammed in a lot of detail! The crew area is obviously cramped but I'm glad you added blaster storage and made the roof easy to remove! The only criticism that I have is that the troopers look a little bit high in the outer stands, would it be possible to lower them a stud or two so that they're not above the slope of the roof? I look forward to seeing it built!!

One of my favorite EU ships! I'd work on the shaping of the wings, they should have more curve. Maybe sub in some wedge plates? Also, the head is much too wide and not long enough and could use better shaping, and the fins that jut out might be a bit too long. Lastly, the cannons in photos get more narrow as they go, so maybe lose the cones on the turbolasers? But, great job on the color blocking and making it studless! You packed in a lot of detail on such a small rendition!

Hair looks great man! Just a regular permanent marker? I think this shoulder pauldron fits better shape-wise than the blue one. Are those arms from Barbara Gordon?

[Review] #75273 Poe Dameron's X-wing Fighter
DrMuttonchops replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great review Bob! I think I'll wait for it to be on sale, but I do like the changes like the engine intakes. -
That's a pretty good idea, and while I don't love that visor it's better than what I've got! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll pick up a regular helmet and that visor and give it a shot.

I'm trying to make an M-3PO military protocol droid and am having some trouble. This is my best so far, I've also tried with the mask sides of 3626cpb1055 and 3626cpb1616 as heads but they didn't look quite as good. Here's a photo of what I have, and a reference photo. Suggestions? I'm considering erasing the mouth grille and cutting under the visor so it can be flipped down.

Your attention to detail never ceases amaze! The Skakoan is great, although it might use some details on the chest armor? The whole foundry is fantastic, you've packed it full of little things to find and look for! The vents, the piping, the tanks, the ship... Love it. Great story too!

I love the tree, and the Harch is spot-on (great use of the Oni head) but holy cow the curved wall... Amazing. How many parts is it?!

DrMuttonchops replied to Darth Bjorn's topic in Factions Archive
Looks great on both, Clone Wars ships are the best! I don't know if it's possible at the scale, but I think both might benefit from a little plate angling? They're pretty flat.- 7 replies
