Simple and effective! I like it! -
There will be more... Great thrilling write-up as usual! With most of the Warships in the New Haven Sea, these pirates are getting bold!

Great to see the finished work filled with minifigs! Neat design that I hope to see replicated more often.

A superbly done mangrove swamp! It looks like it would really be a wet, muddy trek through the swamp. The varied greens in the water is a nice touch as well. a GOC from me!- 6 replies

[COR - FB - GOC] The Reds and the Royals
LM71Blackbird replied to Bricksbypidy's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice to see the Reds and Royals in the wild! Beautiful scene and nice use of the garage doors and hammers. I've never thought of doing that. I like that the wall has some angle to it rather than just straight across. Overall, well excuted design and a glorious display of Corrington's finest. A from me! -

[GOC] ETTC Warehouse, Stormhaven
LM71Blackbird replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you! Thanks! I have at least a total of 6 builds I want to do in Stormhaven for the ETTC, so this is certainly not my last! They are Perfect Caliber Flintlock Mickelson from Brickarms. Picked some up on sale for some extra detail on closeups! I would definitely agree. Angles can add to a build substantially. Something I still need some practice in. Thanks for all the- 11 replies

ETTC Warehouse, Stormhaven In early 622, Major Brickford landed in Stormhaven after being blown off course in a storm while on his way to Spudkirk from Terraversa. While there he setup a headquarters for the ETTC (East Terran Trade Company) and left behind a few Sepoys that volunteered to set up the ETTC with a presence in the settlement. Warehouse 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Since that first landing, a company of ETTC Marines have been sent in to assist the setup process. Not far from the ETTC office, a warehouse has been procured for storing goods before they head inland. Warehouse 2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr ----------------------------------- My second entry for GOC task 12: Mangrove Madness. Building to be licensed as a small commerce by the ETTC. C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking! @Ayrlego @Bregir @evancelt @SilentWolf @Captain Dee

LM71Blackbird replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! I was at first going t o make it more grassy for the courtyard, but after looking at some pictures of the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, I opted for the clean line look. Definitely happy with it! Thanks NOD! I tired to replicate the process as close as I could. Glad you like it! -

Ha! I too have had it on my todo list for quite some time! Thanks, I really like how the floors turned out. I'm sure I missed a few steps, but I wanted to include as much as small would allow. I'm glad the effort paid off! Thanks! You could always use the Ayrlego method and use a bit of blue tac! Thanks Professor! -
A Compendium of Corlander Military Units
LM71Blackbird replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Unit Name: 5th Regiment of Dragoons, "Duke of Erling's" Unit Type: Heavy Calvary Picture: Dragoons 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Description: Corrington does not employ Heavy Calvary to often in the Colonies, due to the much rougher terrain. The 5th Regiment of Dragoons were raised by the Duke of Erling during the Juniper War and the 49 Years War. The bitter fighting on the rolling plains allowed the true power of Heavy Calvary to shine. Riding on powerful brown horse and employing long sabers, these Dragoons struck fear in even the bravest Oleonese troops. The uniform consists of a red jacket with white facings, white epaulets, white trousers and black riding boots. Helmets are worn instead of shakos for better protection of the head. Helmet plumes allow for quick identification of roles. Officers sport a red and black plume, gold epaulets, and typical will ride a white horse. Bulger is topped with a white plume, and all the rest have red plumes. Additional pictures of variations and custom jacket print in spoiler: -

Great build as usual! Lots of really nice detail packed in, and that ingot pier looks awesome. -
Quinnsville Royal Arsenal At the onset of the war on Terraversa, Mayor Richford Brickford of Quinnsville recognized a severe deficiency in small arms manufacturing across the Colonies. Beside the small local gunsmiths and larger Cannon Foundries, there is no other way for Corrington's growing military in the far reaches of the empire to procure new rifles for which to hold Her Majesties Protectorates, then to await deliveries from the Mainland. Work began almost immediately, and although the war on Terraversa ended much sooner then expected, the brave boys in red were soon shipping off to new theaters. This made the need for a more central Royal Arsenal a top priority. Quinnsville Royal Arsenal by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr The newly erected facility consists of three buildings: Firstly in the back is a new shot tower, giving Quinnsville the capacity to manufacture plenty of shot along with the shot tower built in early 620. The first load of shot is already being loaded on wagons for transport to the harbor. 5.3 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Next, the barracks building houses a company of the 1st Fusiliers, Quinnsville oldest stationed unit. Plenty of room for bunks, supplies and gear. 5.5 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr 5.6 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr The real craftsmanship is housed in the small arms factory. First the raw metal ingots are delivered by wagon. Compacted sand molds are also brought in from local sources. 5.4 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Next, the ingots are melted in two roaring furnaces. 5.7 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr When the metal is heated sufficiently, a worker carefully pours the molten metal into the molds. 5.8 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Once the metal has cooled and solidified, the molds are broken off and the solid rods are stored in boxes. 5.9 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr The rods are cleaned up and the outsides are smoothed for the rest of the process. 5.10 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr The rods are then clamped to a table and a craftsman carefully drills out the center to the diameter of whatever caliber rifle is being produced. 5.11 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Finally, skilled craftsman complete the final tooling required on the barrel needed to mount it to a wooden stock. 5.12 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Before long, Quinnsville Arsenal branded rifles with strike fear in the hearts of Corrington's enemies both near and far! -------------------------------------- Overview on entire manufacturing process: --------------------------------------- After much work, and some discussion on discord about getting some building done, I present my Royal Arsenal. ~14000 pieces Stud count = 10,000 (100X100 studs) Upon approval (@Ayrlego, @Bregir. I can take care of the paperwork as well), to be licensed as a Royal Factory for the Crown in Quinnsville. C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking!
