  1. That's more or less the whole story. Up to 30 sets of 100 in Berlin Lego store could be reserved in advance. No more than that and those who were in the line after didn't get anything. The store still have 70 for the 14th!
  2. Wow! I have one on my hands and the print quality is superb for an advertisement material. TLG really wants you to get the impression this is the biggest thing they have made so far and that it deserves every cent. (On side notes it's a shame that the laser shoots are not well aligned in the promotional photo, sigh! and looking at the Star Destroyer with the increased resolution of an actual quality photo, it seems just the 75055.)
  3. If I recall well, it was supposed to be early VIP access to two "exclusive" sets from 14th to 30th. One for sure is the MF but... what would be the second one? I don't expect any other SW set though.
  4. I would say that from £85 to £52 or £60 makes both options good deals. I always think about Lego purchases as a mean of all purchases, let's say, in a year. Thus, sometimes they are a bit expensive and other a bit cheaper. The point is to get the sets you want more or less at a reasonable overall price. I plan to get another Krennic's shuttle just for the pieces (mostly black ones are not that usual) plus the death troopers and another K2-S0 to put in the Death Star. I'll save Krennic just in case my children do something I wouldn't like with the one I have now :)
  5. I'm now building a 75055 from spare parts, so I recognise both underlying structures very well. They are almost the same and interior size is the same. It seems smaller in the Finalizer because it has bigger sides hence a smaller interior in comparison. The Finalizer has a better interior, so it will be more useful if that is important to you. As both are quite similar, it is possible to recreate the other one easily if you get bored of the first one. However, the Finalizer can be found cheaper probably, whereas the imperial star destroyer is a discontinued set. I would go for the Finalizer. With the saved money, get the imperial officer, for instance, from the new advent calendar and a crew member plus 2 storm troopers from last year Battlefront II battle pack. I would add a Rogue One imperial battle pack to have additional stormtroopers and some death troopers, which are from the same time and they are a very cool crew for a star destroyer.
  6. Yes there are. I got one at least. Where did you get one? Online? In a Lego store? I checked Lego online stores in Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and Spain and they don't offer it, just the walker polybag.
  7. So there is no shoretrooper in EU... sigh!!
  8. Mmm... this is an awesome set but... the landing gears... they are too high. The should leave the falcon just on top of the minifigs heads when they enter into the falcon with the ramp. Hopefully it is Lego and we can modify it to our taste ;) Still an outstanding set!!! I'll definitely grab one :)
  9. Well, in EU it's about €800, as expected https://shop.lego.com/de-DE/Millennium-Falcon-75192
  10. I'm so glad that TLG made an interior for the MF... That put it away from the previous one. I like the mynions... I just wasn't expecting them (yeah, there were some rumors about them but...). On the new creatures... I have no opinion yet, though. Leia's version is one of my favourite ones, and Han is quite good as well. Don't mind the second faces for them, at least they have the normal ones. The second ones are just a special thing, don't need to use them if you won't.
  11. This is a twitter post from Lego. The teaser video strikes back!!
  12. Wow! Too many posts here... Probably it has been posted before, but in any case, posting the designer's video URL for this soooo special set twice I expect it won't hurt too much ;) It's just impressive!!!1!!!
  13. Yup! You're right! Didn't notice that, sorry.
  14. Just for completion... also from the same source: 75208 - "Great Playset Yoda's Home" It seems to be in April as well.
  15. Oh, my God! "something even much, much bigger" sounds another top UCS set... still saving for the new UCS MF. But saving is an easier task... finding a place at home to display it (with wife's approval) is not that easy...
  16. Let's hope that Yoda's Hut will come close to this design of The Yoda Chronicles book from 2013 with a very good color scheme and nice interior.
  17. Cool, thanks for the info everyone! Yes, I've done this several times as well (albeit with two orders only). With 3x VIP points many sets reach reasonable value. For instance, the Finalizer will have a EUR 22,5 discount from EUR 150. This places it at the price of a 75055 star destroyer in 2014 plus the promo.
  18. I hope that too. Barris could be used to create variants easily with different heads. I like the recent trend of TLG to put more characters in the battle packs and in small sets. I think they will reach more people. The tatooine battle pack is good to populate other sets like the Cantina, the Jabba's Palace and the Sandcrawler, as the original four Jawas were not enough for such set. Don't know if General Grievous will be somehow updated. I only have it from Grievous starfighter. And I don't have Mace, so that is a great addition. Yoda's Hut is nice, I like the new Luke and it is an excuse to build around an X-Wing :)
  19. if "SALE" all in capital letters (as the link says) means somewhat 20% off on some sets + 3x VIP points I would say it will be a very good time to get the Tie Fighter. If the Slave 1 gets some discount I will definitely consider it!
  20. For me it has little sense to release sets just after Christmas, when everybody's money just went away. I would prefer a December release by far. That would be a good way to get battle packs to complement September sets as well. For these 2018 sets that would mean a December release of (some of) them?
  21. If I recall well, for USD/EUR 50 you could also get the Scarif Shoretrooper. https://www.lego.com/en-us/stores/stores/us/news/force-friday?shareurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lego.com%2Fen-us%2Fstores%2Fstores%2Fus%2Fflatiron-district%3Fid%3D8EA3A01E-B7D6-41EC-AC2B-AD536D188BC0 The link also says 2x VIP points, let's hope it will be 3x...
  22. It's quite disappointing... the legs mechanism doesn't even work well and the scale compared with the heavy assault walker is unknown, let's see. I don't know what to say about the heavy assault walker without seeing the movie... but the number of minifigures for that price is lame. The FO transporter had 7 and it was way cheaper. On the Finalizer, it's ok, at least better than the heavy assault walker. The bottom of the ship and the complete handler structure is almost the same of the 75055 star destroyer. The length (measured in studs) of those sections are also almost (if not exactly) the same. So it would be easy to modify a 75055 set to create another Finalizer without the awful color scheme of the open sides. And you can even accurately reuse the hologram :)
  23. Thats what I am saying, I can see the telephone pieces are moved a bit on the rear, but it does look too similar to the first version. Yes, that's a bit intriguing... if it is real its size should be almost the same as 10179. If that were the case the structure should be similar hence the chance of an interior is reduced. Apart from adding the structures seen in the teaser, the increased detail is still impressive. However, there are some disturbing elements in the photo: 1. The pieces count: this is an obvious error that should not be made by TLG. Never if they planned a teaser featuring the detailed pieces count. 2. The typeset of Star Wars, just white. That's ok for the old Dead Star, which used a licensed banner and they weren't allowed to change it. But the new UCS ones don't use any specific banner. Being that big it should have at least the gold typeset of the Dead Star, the Slave 1 or the Sandcrawler... or even a platinum one for such an awesome set. 3. The Lego logo position in the whole image, very odd and unprofessional, not well placed in the photo at all. It is also smaller than it should be, even more if the set is going to be so great. 4. The star destroyer... it's a 75055, and it is shadowed, not plain black like the ships in the Dead Star. No explosions neither, TLG just love them. 5. The planet resolution, it is just too low. The same with the strange structure on top of the Lego logo, too blurred. What is it supposed to be? And the star field behind... definitely for old 1024x768 monitor resolutions. 6. The cockpit piece, which should be highlighted if it is a special piece, it is just not seen very well at all. 7. The lasers are not aligned with the position of the top cannon in the Falcon. What kind of quality assurance has TLG on the advertisement of its flagship set? So... the more I see it the more errors I find. Maybe it's just me...
  24. If that isn't the real one, they did a good job at incorporating the partial structures shown in the teaser video. 1. At the left of BB-8 one of the 6 circular structures of the back, with the same size and shape and no studs shown in the upper part. 2. The lateral structure has the same shape without studs and three surfaces: internal cylinder, external cylinder and hexagon with only two studs at the top. Also the shape inside the inner cylinder. 3. The cockpit is the best one... The same number of studs in the three axes, separate sections at the cockpit lateral: 6 studs for circular pieces, 1 stud open, plus 2 studs for circular pieces (the pieces flying from the left to be inserted, already inserted at the botton right), using the same Saturn V technique at 45 degrees. The vertical studs and position to attach the cockpit may also be identified. Even the lightsaber piece at the end of the cockpit, just in the angle.
  25. Yep, that could be the intention as well. Although volume comparisons using 2x4 bricks instead of the real ones would be objectively misleading, unless the proportions of both pieces sets were roughly the same (volume wise), i.e similar proportions of small and big pieces... or they were comparing Minecraft versions of Taj Mahal and MF ;)
