  1. That looks like something I would build with basic bricks.
  2. Very nice. I love the bridge. But where's the Christmas tree, or the Christmas train, or anything Christmas?
  3. You should post as a new message/thread. - Adventure Vehicle. Nice.
  4. Thanks fo the clarification. I didn't see them in the picture but thought maybe someone had spotted them in the image (like the trolls/giants).
  5. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all of you as well!
  6. I believe you can do it BM. I powered a light and a track once using the method you explained (multiple wires from the speed regulator). I did a little research and came across this at Lego Train Depot: You can use one controller to power two loops. You could either have two totally independent loops or have them connected by points in some way. If you want independent loops you will need an extra #5305 9V Train Connecting Lead to get the power to it. Since most people don't have extra leads, however, you probably want to go with the points method. Points can route power to another loop as well as allowing the trains to swap over for a bit of variety. This is explained in more detail in the section on How To Wire Up Layouts With Points. But if you just want to see an example, look at Euro Two Track. If you can power two different sets of track with the same contoller (using an extra connecting wire), I don't see why you can't power a track and something else (like the motor you indicated).
  7. Very nice. What did you use for the lights? I like the snow mountain.
  8. Thanks for taking the time and the patience to photo each piece and share with us Alex. Your photo review made me want to buy this set. Mine is on order and has been shipped. I'll open next year, unless for some reason I get the urge earlier. Thanks again. Merry Christmas everyone.
  9. Actually, I thought it might be the same piece; but the new ship does appear wider.
  10. I like them a lot. They remind me of a log cabin. This method would work well for WW and Vikings.
  11. I was wondering that myself.
  12. I purchased the Nativity set a few years ago for Christmas. It even comes with a little story of Christmas. It's a neat set as well.
  13. I'm not sure I like the ghost horses. They look more crystal-like than ghostly. The fig atop the horse is rather strange.
  14. Interesting design to have the strings. I'm not sure that I've seen this technique used before on roofs.
  15. I'd like to see that as well. I don't believe I ever saw the Outrider in Lego.
  16. Thanks for the tip. It actually works!
  17. Excellent! Now I wanna build some Egyptian sets.
  18. A Lego elephant is definately too small. I just came across this find earlier: It gives you the idea of size in proportion to a mini-fig.
  19. Just came across this beautiful wooden fort on Maj.com. It appears to be a wooden castle. Something like this would make a great Forestman Fortress. I'm admiring the SNOT techniques used as well as the overall look of the structure. Very nice. Gallery link: Wooden Fortress
  20. Me too. I've got two of most of the sets anyhow. Time for new material. Last year, I caught a Lego Displayer/Rep in my local TRU and was talking with her about themes. She mentioned that she gets a lot of fans requesting Lego offer the WW theme again. Nothing more, but it gives me hope that we might see it again in some way, shape, or form. Keep writing those letters and EMail to Lego requesting WW sets. Sooner or later, we will be heard.
  21. I agree with the comment regarding the power of imagination is not dependent on the country you come from. I've always liked Lego in terms of the Classic Castle, Train, and City themes with their strong European influence. At the same time, I wouldn't necessarily say that Lego has gotten away from European design, but rather they have captured a more modern deign (European and American). The age of sets like Town Square (1592) is gone. The new look is the modern city. Not to compare Lego with Playmobil, but Playmobil city sets are now "Modern Living". They seem to have underwent the same migration. Themes like Batman and Spiderman are more American, but Harry Potter and the new Cargo Train remains European. I think Lego will continue to pursue whatever sells; and unfortunately, I don't think "old-world European" town/city will be it (except for maybe with Castle). I think the real question is do you like Lego Old World or New World designs rather than European vs. American.
  22. I went with Arkham Asylum. I love the Batman theme and this set is among my favorite of the collection. I would vote for Jabba's Sail Barge as 2nd.
  23. Good point. They are both great sets.
  24. Here's a shot of the Cargo Carrier (4030) which I never owned. They do look similar.
  25. Because they already re-released them once. At least Fort Legoredo and Sheriff's Lockup. I couldn't see them re-releasing the same sets again. Perhaps Gold City Junction and the Gold Mine, but I reallt doubt it. My prediction is that if we see WW again, it will be in the form of completely new sets.
