  1. I believe that is the role of Gene Wagonberry, Internal Security. I would not want to step on any toes. Plus, I'm retired (esp. when I don't want to take the lead).
  2. Let us take a closer look at the body of poor Stillman. (examines the cold claminess of Stinky) Holy Mackerel! What is this within his pocket? A folded piece of paper... The number 441 written upon it. Perhaps this may be a clue Captain. I would suggest that we take a closer look at the mysterious cargo, and I would recommend that we all stay together.
  3. Poor Stinky! May his smell of rotten fish intestines outlast the worst of company!
  4. And Stinky mumbles his last dying words... (you didn't wait for it! Next one who says anything dies!)
  5. Stinky's body jerks, and his hand grabs the shoulder of the Captain. He utters his last dying words... (wait for it, wait for it... Stinky says...)
  6. Vicki? :-D EDIT: Oh, I get it. Too funny! :-D :-D NOTE: refreshing your screen will update Stillman's avatar. Sorry SD!
  7. As the pleasant dreams of returning to the safe lit cabins inside the ship are smashed like the gauges of the Engineering Room, the crew realize that they have never left the darkness of the fog. Up ahead; however, hope begins to flurish as a beacon of light can be seen illuminating the cargo hold; the fog diminishing. Unfortunately; however, one of the crew has met a most horrible fate. Realizing that one of you did not make it out of the dense fog, the Captain looks back to see the faint shadow of Stillman's body slumped against the cargo hold. Walking back toward him, you realize that he has been stuck with a fishing knife, the smell of dead fish permeating the air. Someone yells, "Oh my God, someone killed Stillman"! 8-
  8. Despite the demons that cause the Captain and Scotty to want to tie up and tickle feet torture Bennie >:-) , you realize the fog is just too dense to see even six inches in front of you, plus rope would be virtually impossible to find in the thick fog. Bennie is safe for you, but beware the Captain and Scotty once you make it back into the lighted rooms within the ship...
  9. Divers had some really nice boats. They were small in comparison to the boats now, but very nicely designed. The white and blue color combination made them look good to. I like the new Aquaraiders theme, but there are no boats. This, I think, is a real shortfall of the theme.
  10. Strike that - esp. the part about Mr. Exposition Recap. :-D
  11. SN, I want to commend you on a terrific WW MOC. I would have responded sooner, but I've been preoccupied with Mystery Ship, and wanted to give your MOC a fair and thorough review. First, the section that catches my eye the most is the water flune. I love how you designed the various brown plates holding it up like they were wooden beams. It adds a great level of detail and realism to the design. The clear 1x1s look great as water. I also like how you continued the stream separating the main structure. This is a really nice that I would never have thought of doing. I also like the various roof plates giving the MOC a very uneven design. I'm not good at this mystelf and always end up with very symetric structures. This design works very well for gold mines and old western wooden structures are not always symetric. The small barrel on the rope adds an excellent touch of detail to the mine. I like this very much, and I could really see and old mine having a barrel on a rope. I also like the miner. Is that Tex Grimwell? I like his red beard. Now for my suggested improvements, and constructive comments: The mining car is a little too wide. I think I like having only two spaces between the tracks (like the original WW Gold Mine). I'm not too particularly fond of the entrance to the mine. I think a keep out sign and/or some brown pieces to make it look like it has some wooden support beams would have added to the entrance. - just a suggestion. Lastly, the cactus is a little too large. I think it was Athos/Steve who did a cactus in one of his vignettes made from round 1x1 pieces. I think making it smaller would look better. I have attempted to build a number of gold mines over the years never to arrive at anything I liked. If this was my MOC; however, I would be very proud of the final outcome. It looks terrific, esp. considering this is your first WW MOC. Excellent job and it is great to see other WW MOCers on EB. Great job *y* *y* !
  12. Part Four: Mysterious Cargo The night's tide caused the Sea Ghost to sway and rock under the fog covered moon. Jim Doohan and Jack Tupp decided to take turns working on the engine repair, as the damage was quite extensive. From the Steering Room, the reluctant crew decided that they would walk outside together to the open air and search the mysterious cargo aboard the ship. A freightened Manny kept repeating, Criatura del Profundo, Criatura del Profundo... as the fog became so thick that none of the crew could see one another. Despite the dense fog, and the black open sea beyond, the air was warm and moist. The feeling was like an evil pulling them closer to the cargo... closer... closer... Demons and horrible thoughts possessed their minds as every step became more difficult. What would they find? What evil dwelled within the cargo hold? *skull*
  13. Let's review what has occured: - First, someone or something has sabotaged the engine. - Secondly, our only chance to communicate with the main land has been severed, through sabotage to the radio. - Bennie believes he heard knocking in one of the cargo containers. - Bennie was knocked unconsious, remembering only that whoever or whatever it was made a "sloshing" sound. - Scotty's missing hammer was discovered with Jack Tupp in the Engineering Room. - Our favorite migrant worker believes that a "Criatura del Profundo", aka Creature from the Deep curses the ship. - And lastly, we have a Captain who would rather watch reruns of the Love Boat, then tend to the issues at hand. I believe that there is something definately fishy aboard the Sea Ghost, and it 'aint Otto's Sushi. ------------ End Part 3
  14. Unfortunately; however, the pages are black with oil, and unreadable. Perhaps there may be a ship's log in the Steering Room. The captain may shed some light.
  15. That's really good . I love it, esp. the sink. What's with the fireman though?
  16. Part 3: Something Fishy As the Sea Ghost drifts along the blackness of the sea, the nervous crew follow the Captain to the Steering Room. Outside the large observation window, the mysterious fog still shrouds the vast ocean. The threat of a saboteur among the crew or something more vile from the depths of the deep raise suspicious and apprehension among all. What evil is plaguing the Sea Ghost? Manny states, "I do not know how you say it in English... Animal of Deep Waters... I think me amigos also called it Hombre de Agalla... Man with the Fish Lungs... We are cursed"!
  17. While Jim Doohan and Jack Tupp work on the needed repairs, it is evident that the Sea Ghost will not be going anywhere soon. Fear and paranoia are starting to set in among the crew as they consider what has happened during this mysterious voyage. Bennie did not see what hit him but remembers the horrifying "sloshing" sounds that it made. Some of the crew believe that poor Bennie was struck by someone or something that has climbed aboard the ship from the Depths of the Sea. Manny calls the thing "Criatura del Profundo", the exact English translation unknown. Jack Tupp is found drunk with the missing hammer having no recollection of what has happened. There is definately something sinister at hand, but what it is remains a mystery, something evil aboard the Mystery Ship. --------------- End Part Two
  18. Excellent concept. I had thought about something similar myself.
  19. In regard to the galley, I was looking for a lot of nautical collectibles - like you might find in a seafood restaurant. It needs to be more "cluttered". EDIT: Oh, and here's a few very special images of my old office where I use to write my mysteries: (these are really "behind the scenes")
  20. Adults who collect and build Lego - then play Murder Mysteries with them - does this really surprise you? I would not expect anything different. :-D In any case, I know whose dying first >:-) .
  21. I really like the engine room too, but how about that great galley???
  22. I was looking for more modern city-related sets rather than pirates IS. I think I have to go with Divers. I like the combination of the smaller fishing vessels and the underwater creatures and subs. My 2nd would probably be Nautica due to the great sea ports. I agree with you Sinner, in regard to the new line being the best if we see a few more in the line-up. I would love a few more boats (i.e fishing and even a tug boat) *wub*
  23. Over the past few days as I've been writing Mystery Ship and having taken out some of my nautical-related sets, it got me looking at boats, ships, and ports appreciating some of these great themes and sets. Of the nautical-related themes, there seems to be about five separate and distict themes (with a few other boats appearing in the City theme). I'm not including the less popular themes, but the better ones include: - Nautica (1991): included great seaport sets like the Intercoastal Seaport and the Launch & Load Seaport - Divers (1997), combination of small fishing/diving boats and subs - Aquaraiders (2007): no ships or ports but some subs and underwater creatures - City (2006/2007): includes the new Lego City Harbor, fire, and police boat - And going way back, the Boat theme spanning the late 70s through the 90s: various classic boats released every few years. Of these great themes, what is your favorite? Share your thoughts why.
  24. What does Criatura del Profundo mean Manny?
  25. Excellent! I love the engine room. The grey works very well. Excellent job!
