  1. I wanted to share some recent Ghost Town creations that I found on MOC Pages. The builder is Miles Finlay who created two Ghost Town buildings. One is a structure in Alberta, and the other an old bank in Rhyolite Nevada. I really like his style, although the building are larger than minifig scale. I esp. like the old bank. 2. I agree. You did a very nice job replicating the flags, but the thought of children playing with these Nazi flags just doesn't sit well with me. Nice from the historical perspective, but very "unpolitically correct" for those who know what the swastika represents. Perhaps just a regular German flag or generic non-Swastika flag might be better.
  3. I received my pieces today from LSAH. I'm happy now! *sweet*
  4. Check out this Brickshelf find: It's part of a castle display from a Hong Kong brick show. I love the castle in the back (the one with the red and yellow flags). The entire display has some great details including the use of the SW pieces. Gallery: Display Image Gallery Share your thoughts.
  5. I love it! What a great little set and an outstanding addition to the Castle theme. It does not appear to be available on LSAH in the US yet, but looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Excellent review TPRU. What a great set! I love the Orient Expedition collection. What I like most about this set is the use of the red and tan colors and the oriental guards (although there are many other things I like). I still have this set in an unopened box. Don't ask me why I'm saving it???
  7. Yes - I used it in my Grave Stone Cemetary as Hank Austin, the Caretaker's assistant. That's a good one.
  8. I just came across this great marina on Brickshelf: I love the variety of ships, esp the orange/white houseboat/yacht. Link here: Marina Share your thoughts.
  9. Does anyone know if Lego sends another notice/message as a follow-up after the auto-reply about filling your missing piece(s)? I'm still patiently waiting for mine.
  10. During the 80s (some of you may remember these Dark Ages), there was a great video by Chicago/Peter Cetera of the song, Along Comes a Woman. It's got a Casablanca style to it in B&W and has a character like Indiana Jones. I was able to find it on YouTube and it has always been among my favorite videos. Take a look: Let me know what you think. It would make a great Lego video.
  11. I honestly doubt you'll ever find them at or below the retail price (esp. if they are new in box).
  12. Definately! I noticed how quick the switch track sold out. This is probably it before we see it on Ebay.
  13. Old set, new review! Nice. I really like this set and use to "swoosh" it around with the Baron's bi-plane. Here's a shot of mine in Port Adventure: It's nice to see that the new Indiana Jones sets are bringing back interest in Adventurers - great theme!
  14. I keep all boxes, but they do take up a lot of space. Here is another thread relating to Lego storage: Lego Storage
  15. Perhaps I'll try this - or run a 2nd train on the bley track.
  16. Mat: some of us like to have consistency with our parts. Like I said above, it's not the color itself, just the fact that it doesn't match. I notice.
  17. In that case, you'll be fine. I don't have an issue with the color itself, just the fact it doesn't match my existing track collection. Now if you want to buy straight track with the eight-piece box, it will probably be in the old grey. See my frustration?
  18. TRIVIA ONLY I think the correct term is American Indians. I was informed that the word "native" takes a negative meaning - at least among the Paiutes.
  19. I recently purchased 2159, the 9V Train Track Starter Collection from Lego SAH. The set was 1/2 off - a good price. I just received it yesterday to discover that the track is the new BLEY color. I was so disappointed, but wanted to warn those of you who may be considering buying it. I've purchased a number of individual box track yets (straight and curved) always in the old grey, but for whatever reason, this collection of track is the new grey. I'm guessing that Lego had an abundance of this new track and figured this was a good way to move it - probably why it's 1/2 off (at least in the US). If this is old info to some of you train colloectors, please disregard. I did a search and could not find that it was discussed. Watch out for 2159! X-O
  20. I haven't spotted these in the US yet. I'm looking forward to finding them. Overall, the 2008 line-up is a excellent and it's going to be difficult for me to decide which themes/sets to pursue. There's a lot to choose from.
  21. Great review Yoda. Thanks for sharing. I wasn't real fond of the postal truck at first. It's so different than those in the US. But after seeing your close-up images (esp. the back of the tuck), it looks really neat. I also like the mail box a lot. It looks good in red. Too bad for the stickers, but it's still nice. The plane reminds me a lot of the design used in the Jurassic Park set. As you've said, it's similar to 80s designs. I really like the brick-built design too. It's just real Lego - that's about all I can say. Very nice sets that are a must together. Thanks for the review.
  22. Count me in, but I'm not sure if I understand all the rules. Esp. the UNVOTE option. What is this for?
  23. I'll add some pictures of the new line-up when available. It sounds like some of you like Playmobil. I'm really looking forward to seeing the pyramid, sphinx, and the grave robbers. I'll keep you posted.
