Thanks. I like bandanas as well but I hate covering up good WW torsos, esp. when they have some sort of tie as part of the printed torso (bolo tie or otherwise). In regard to the hats, I wanted to do all black to stay with the outlaw theme, but only had four. Black hats were surprisingly never used in the WW theme (seems strange, doesn't it?). Thanks for the feedback SD. I want a new digital camera now to take better quality images.

I was designing some WW outlaws for a recent signature and decided to add some official WW boxart to see how they would look. The figs are a mix and match of some WW and Adventurer torsos and faces. I'm still working on improving my photoshop skills, but I don't think they came out too bad:

Excellent Apache. These make me want to go out and play with my WW sets in the dirt. I esp. like the steps in the crevice. Once again, nice job. I'll talk with you soon. ;-)

Killing the Dead Contest Semi-finals POLL
WesternOutlaw replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Sinner and Vader for me. They're all very creative, regardless of who makes the final cut. Great contest Hink! -
I bet they're a lot of fun if anything like the Folks Fests I remember.

I agree with KD. I'm a big castle fan and had classic castle sets long before the WW theme came out. Some individuals (neither of you gentlemen) stereo-type WW fans as not liking city, space, and other themes. This is completely untrue - but perhaps a different discussion. In regard to Ghost Towns, I was hoping that a few of you would share some Ghost Town experiences and/or images. How did you start liking the WW theme? Were you into WW history before Lego or after? PS. Oh, KD: I remember getting a pair of jeans as a kid while visiting Germany. I got them back to the U.S. and discovered that they had a round Fort Laramie, Wyoming coin or metal emblem on the back. I thought this was different in that Fort Laramie is an old WW fort - strange thing to find in Germany. I had guessed that Ameriacn Wild West History must be somewhat popular in Germany. Are there any theme parks related to the WW in Germany?

Welcome OK. Although I didn't see Wild West among your favorite sets, I'll give you one point for being from Australia *y* (since I think of the Outback when I hear Australia), and another point for initials like "OK" *y* - I'm thinking OK Corral. Glad to see you joining EB. It's a great community with some really super members. Welcome!

If you have any pics, please share. I've never been to Goliad, what's there? Are you a Wild West fan?

Which Is Better to get Western or Pirates?
WesternOutlaw replied to Joey Lock's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I have to admit that I'm a little surprised to find this poll somewhat balanced. I was expecting many more Pirate fans on EB to vote for Pirates. Perhaps the indoctrination to Phes's Stockade is starting to wear off (no offence Phes, you're the Pirate ruler around these parts). Good poll. *y* -
Excellent! Do you have any pictures of Tombstone? I've never been there but have read about it.

Any pictures Apache? Arizona would be a great state for Ghost Towns. Do they do anything for Halloween? Haunted Ghost Town tours or anything like that?

Nice Haunt Hink, but why did you make it wide as opposed to tall? I think some height would really add to a Victorian design. Wonderful design with some nice detail though.

You've really done some nice images here Apache. Great job!

The idea of a Wild West Super Set like the classic one depicted is an excellent idea. I tried building one earlier in the year but kept making the buildings too large. They would need to be fairly small to include a few (like a WW street scene). In regard to the buildings that you mentioned KD, a saloon is a definate building and missing from the WW theme. A Post or Telegraph Office would be a nice addition as well. I don't know about a bank though since we already have one in Gold City Junction. How about a hotel though? Definately need a red stagecoach. Great ideas! Let's have Lego do it. P.S. I started a thread in the Community forum regarding interest in WW history and Ghost Towns that's received no responses. If you are interested in the discussion, provide your feedback. Here's the link: Ghost Towns & WW History

You guys really do a neat job with these interviews. I like how you add your critical/funny comments to the answers. As always, nice job. PS. 1994 - That's the last time I think I cleaned my underwear.

I'm more of an Outlaw type. -
What a fabulously creative MOC! These are the kinds of creations that one would find as a store display to show what one could build with Lego. You are very original Hink, and I think this MOC really shares something of your personality; that being fun and creative. The deign is really two MOCs in one but yet they go together so well. I esp like your treehouse, but yet both are exceptional. A few of the details that really add to the fun design include the umbrella table, the tire swing (great idea), the various green hanging vines, the slide, bridges, and the brown boulders by the water (to name just a few). I also like the way you did the water/shore. Are those green tiles? I didn't even think Lego made green tiles. Excellent build and definately a lot of fun. Wishing I had a treehouse to play in, TheBrickster

How many of you have visited a real Ghost Town? Do you like Wild West history, movies, or literature? Share your experiences and interests here.

Sorry about that. I thought we had discussed the topic a while ago, but thought we'd revisit.

Oh, that was a great set. I still have mine in a dusty old Classic Space box. Great set! I loved the use of the green translucent pieces. I used mine to create some Battlestar Galactica scenes. Do you still have it? One of my first sets (and I have a Christmas picture with it somewhere), was the Brick Yard: Link here: Brick Yard

Just to start a friendly discussion, what was your first Lego set? I may have a picture of mine - I will look and share it if so.

Oh, that pretty much does it. Definately have to say WW now - just kidding :-P - Excellent ship. -
686 - wouldn't that be great! I saw the blue container dump truck pieces used as mining cars a number of years ago. They look pretty good. I'm not sure about the blue color though. I also like the use of brown container pieces. Like so: from my recent MOC, the Haunted Mine
