NEWS FOR PLAYMOBIL FANS I know that there has been some discussion about Lego having a Roman and/or Egyptian theme, and just read this evening that Playmobil will be designing a new Egyptian theme as a continuation to their Roman theme (with set numbers). Sets will include a pyramid, Nile ship, sphinx, temple, Egyptian chariot, and grave robbers. As a Playmobil fan (yes, I can like both Lego and Playmobil), I'm really looking forward to this new theme. I'll post a picture or two when available for those of you who enjoy Playmobil (I know there's a few of us on EB). Perhaps Lego will also offer a Roman and/or Egyptian theme in the future to copy Playmobil.

Let me know. Good luck!

Fort Legoredo Photo Review Part II
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You definately missed a good one here. I actually had the original in my hands at a local TRU and could not decide if I wanted it or not. I decided wisely and picked it up. It was a year after it was retired, so I think I did pretty good. I didn't bother buying the re-release. -
Awesome layout Patrick, and welcome to EB. I really like your display, and you did a very nice job adding some non-Lego elements. Great job!

No, it was not- but notice you're the only one that mentioned this. -

Very diverse collection. What makes these sets special? -
What's Next After the Build?

That's great! I wish I still had "the play" in me. About the only thing that will keep me playing is an electric train - switching track and running trains around one another (choo choo!). Although the new Indiana motorcycle seems like it might be fun (rev up and do some wheelies). -
As I sit here typing and look at my Indiana Jones sets resting on my office table, I can't help to wonder what everyone does with their sets after they build them. Just a little humorous poll to determine the fun factor after the build is over.

IJ 7622 Race for the Stolen Treasure: Missing Pieces
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes, definately the making of a Lego conspiracy theory. Interesting points you make. You may be right. Mindless Fanboy: I always believed this as well. It seemed to be a logical quality check/step. After reading Imperial Shadows' opinion on the subject, I tend to agree. I think this is the 3rd time I opened a box and found missing pieces. The other experience was a small Spiderman set I purchased in Walmart. It was missing a lot of pieces. I figured someone had opened the box and returned the set with missing pieces (included figs/torsos, faces, and windows). The other experience was the Batcave that had one missing brick. Within the box was an extra plate which made me believe that the set was in fact weighted, and the substituted piece had not triggered a weight issue. I have not heard back from them, other than receiving the auto-reply message yesterday. I had cotacted them about a piece I lost a few years ago and because of the holiday, it took over a few weeks to get a response. I had to send the message over and over again to trigger a response, before finally receiving an apology message. Missing head! That's pretty disappointing. At least you didn't need the piece to build the set (like the truck). I had to replace pieces as I built it. -
IJ 7622 Race for the Stolen Treasure: Missing Pieces

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. It is rather disappointing. I received an auto-reply from Lego a little bit ago. I should hear from them in the next few days. I have heard of people opening sets and stealing figs, but not standard pieces (like a regular 1x4 brick, and other pretty simple pieces to get). That's also why I think this was a Lego packaging issue. Perhaps the bag dropped and broke during packaging, and a lazy employee just picked up the bag and put it in the box? Who knows, but if the box was weighted like Lego says they do, six pieces should of definately been identified. In any case, I hope to get the missing pieces soon. If they give me any issue, I'll just take the set back to TRU (if they have any to exchange). It is a really neat set . -
I opened Indiana Jones set 7622, Race for the Hidden Treasure eagerly this morning. I loved building the smaller jeep (what a great vehicle). To my surprise, when I went to open Bag B or 2 containing the parts for the truck, the bag was already opened slightly. No pieces were loose in the box and I started building. To my surprise, I discovered a missing wheel axis and a wheel. I searched my building area to not find the missing parts. I thought I would do a soft build (my word for constructing without building, by placing the parts from each step in a small pile). I had discovered that six pieces (mostly standard bricks and plates) were missing from the set. I sent a message to Lego a little bit ago. The set was not listed in their database and I'm hoping since these most of the parts are standard bricks/pieces, I can get replacements without having to take the entire set back (I hate the return/exchange line this time of year). I had purchased at TRU. Well, I ended up using pieces from my old Adventurers sets as replacements (mostly red, so I can tell what was missing). What a disappointment on Christmas day though! I don't think this was done at the store. The set was sealed with pieces of tape that looked untouched. Also, TRU had just got them in when I purchased the set. I can't be sure, but I think this is another Lego quality issue. It's still a great set and goes well with the motorcycle chase. Happy Holidays!

Indiana Jones Part 4 - Set Pictures are available
WesternOutlaw replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great find! Thanks for sharing. I love the amphibious vehicle, and the green soldiers are excellent. Indiana Jones is going to be a great adventure theme. Next, I hope we see more Egyptian desert sets. -
WOW! That thing is huge! Looking forward to seeing it when it's complete.

Excellent church General. Very nice and welcome to EB. I really like how you designed the steeple, and the church yard with gate is very clever too. Great job!
-
Galaxy Explorer all the way! Excellent set. I played with it for hours and esp. loved the little rover in the back. The Space Cruiser was a great set as well.
-
My thoughts exactly. I can't wait to use the new piece in a Wild West creation (regardless of color). But I'm sure it will pop up in another color sooner or later.
-
I doubt that. A good piece is a good piece.
-
And the new Indiana hat has endless possibilities.

Thanks for taking the time to review the set B.P. I really like the Anubis statues. Also, as others have mentioned, the SW sticker is rather witty. Great review!

Gives me an idea of who get's the axe first in the next mystery... Honestly, I know you did. No problem.
-
Yes- love how I do so, I see. What else Hink? What else do you find funny? Hilarious even...? And I complimented you on your acting ability, even laughing myself at times. See if you get a lead role next Murder Mystery. How else could I keep you all in line? It was very difficult I would say - very difficult indead. It will be a long while before I do something like this again.

It sounds as if many of you collect non-Lego SW. Anyone out there with any special items (very hard to find)? Oh, BTW: I started collecting the SW Gallactic Heroes (2 in pack) a few years ago as well. They're sort of fun. I got Boba Fett's autograph on a 12" figure a number of years ago as well as Yoda. I don't remember which actor. They were doing the comic book circuit together. In fact, I should look for their autographed pictures as well. I can't remember what I did with them???
-
Yes, I understand what you're saying. I finally said NO MORE a few years ago when I moved and had boxes of SW items. But once in a blue moon, I see something that I think is really slick. - like the Hoth set pictured above. I was really curious if the Lego SW collectors also buy other SW merchandise. So far, it seems that the majority do.

Very ominous EB. I like the all/mostly black mech. The hands/robotic grippers look very good. This could definately battle Alien and win! I'll like to see it go against our favorite Walrus sometime.

Very nice EB. I'm not a big fan of space, but this reminds me of a toy called Micronauts that I played with as a kid. It has a nice design and looks like an official Mars Mission set. Great job!
