If that's the same as a Power Droid, I still have one from the 70s (original) - not in box but in very nice shape. Not my image, but I believe it is this one:

I'm not a big fan of Space sets, but I thought it was pretty slick. The photo-editing is superb as well. I'm always amazed at how expert builders can use pieces in such a way.

I haven't bought any of the regular figs in a few year, but I was in my local Target today and came across this set. I thought it was so cool, that I had to pick one up. They had a similar set with an Endor AT-ST. Both were really nice, but I've always been a big fan of Hoth. Here's a pick of it that I just found on the web:

Do you have a large collection of figures and ships?

I am just curious: I have been a long time collector of plastic SW figures (Kenner/Hasbro) long before buying Lego SW. I haven't bought too much in recent years, but was wondering who else out there collects both Hasbro and Lego SW? There's been some really nice sets in the past few years (as well as new figs this year that look great). If you are a Lego SW collector, do you also buy Hasbro figures and ships?

Nice review Hink, but what's with all the Henry figs? -
Check out this recent find on Flickr. It's a ship that uses two airplane tail sections. I'd say this is an excellent use of a large specialized piece: Flickr Find

Hink's the Man! Great find. I have to get to TRU. I didn't think these would be out until after Christmas. It looks like such a clean little set. Did they have the other sets as well? -
Yes. I felt the same way, even with the new 2007 Castle. I understand exactly what you mean. I kept looking at it thinking, I just think Lego could have done better. But when I build older Castle sets like the Black Falcon Fortress, I feel that much smaller pieces and more detail makes the set a much higher quality (even if it is half the size). I think set design really suffers when detail is replaced with size.

Good points Sinner. I was not a big Space fan, aside from Classic Space (Blue/Yellow sets), so I sometimes compare sets to the classics. I suppose some of the space sets did use large wheels and other pieces.

World-wide - Lego SAH Train Sale - 50% Off...
WesternOutlaw replied to 6stud's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I just ordered a Holiday Train yesterday but the Hobby Train was not listed on the Sale Page. I hate when I discover this after I place an order. Thanks for the info though. -
All right! You're in. *y*

Here you go on Brickshelf. I think this was it: Gallery

I recall seeing the airplane nose as the front of a train. It actually looked pretty good, but I for one, would almost prefer a brick-built nose with pieces that could be used for any model.

Welcome to EB, LV. EB is really a great community. Even though I see you didn't mention any Adventure or Wild West interests, I'll give you a few points for being a Castle fan. Hope to see you around these parts. - just be sure to not mess with any of the Outlaws! :-D Take Care, TheBrickster

I was really referring to Wild West Ghost Towns, but did you have a town in mind?

Over the years I've been collecting Lego, I've noticed how much LARGER pieces and sets have grown. As I've done so, I can't help to think, does BIGGER mean BETTER? Take for example a few of these newer sets: - City Passenger Plane 7893 - City Heavy Hauler 7998 - Mars Mission Armored Drilling Unit 7699 Not to say that these sets are bad, but compare the size of classic Lego airplanes, trucks, and space sets with these models. Sets and pieces have grown ENORMOUS. One might debate that Lego is merely trying to build larger models for play value, but I can't help to think that by using larger and lesser quality pieces, Lego reduces manufacturing costs which results in higher profit. In comparing many of todays' sets with older/classic Lego, I really think that pieces have grown larger as well as model design. What are your thoughts on this subject. Do you think that pieces and sets have grown? And if so, doed BIGGER mean BETTER?

Excellent! Great imagery.

Hey Sne. It's neat to see you post here. Usually, I think Ghost Towns refer to old American Wild West history from the 1800s. But then again, I'm sure any town that has been abandoned could be considered a Ghost Town. I'm not familiar with any Italian/European WW theme parks. I came across Gardaland in the Verona province but I'm not sure if this is a WW theme park - although it looks fun. ---------------- Sorry about that double-post. I thought my 2nd reply would be added to the first.

Great pictures K. I love the old blue truck. These inspire me to want to build some more WW MOCs.

Thanks. Would you believe that this is my least favorite. What do you think is missing? Perhaps a barrel or two? - or some accessories (ie. money, dynamite, gold)?

Yes, that's an excellent show. David Carradine hosts the newer shows. Those of you who don't know David Carradine, he played Grasshopper in the Kung Fu series. "you must grab the pebble from my hand Grasshopper"... Yes, please share. I'd love to see a few.
