  1. Good question. Maybe it's merely a gimick to help push the city sets with all the other competing themes. The cement mixer is a special edition as well.
  2. I think the tires look good, but more like a Russian fur hat. I'd buy a camel off the guy with the car shifter on his head. That looks pretty good. Some great ideas!
  3. I was building my entry for the EB Neighborhood Contest (Contest Entry), and I was trying to figure out how to build a Turkish/Moroccan Fez (the straight hat sometimes with a tassle). I tried a few pieces and couldn't get anything to work (tried a round 1x1, 1x1 cone, and the trunk piece of a palm tree so far). Any suggestions?
  4. I just posted my entry: Rick's Nightclub (sort of a mix of Adventurers, Indy, and Casablanca).
  5. B-RV-8B My avatar (as some of you will remember) was at one time, the Baron Von Adventurer. On any given evening, he can be found inside Rick's Cafe Americain, a Moroccan nightclub in the city of Casablanca (his so-called "home away from home"). Here's a few shots of the nightclub, and my entry for the EB Neighborhood Contest. In the spirit of Adventurers, Indiana Jones, and Casablanca: A view when first walking in the doors: A view from the top: A band plays French music as some Germans sit at their table: The Baron (my sigfig) as he ruthlessly plots agains Indiana from the balcony. A collection of artifacts and treasures surround him: Indy and his friends buying some information at the well-stocked bar: Lastly, a view from outside. Two Turkish thugs keep out the rift-raft:
  6. WOW! That's a city. These buildings would make a great Lego magazine cover. I'm impressed!
  7. Perhaps that's the mysterious cargo. Mr. Tiber replaced the petro with rum... :-D
  8. I'm curious, for those of you who are not into City sets and want this set for the forklift, what would you use it for?
  9. Dang nab it! Let's just change this poll to what BrickMiner Moc you like the best"! >:-( I hope you all find yourselves trapped in Grave Stone where you can dream about that colorful Lego WW boxart depicted on official Lego WW sets and BM's MOCs. >:-) - Signed, Chopped Liver!
  10. Further Psyco-analysis: Surprise: If some of you have not noticed, this poll will also determine what theme you like the best as well. There are just a few choices that indicate no loyalty to a single theme, in which case it means you like many themes and do not limit yourself to merely one-two. 1) Multiple themes (although some preference to Fabuland & Colorful Treehouses) 2) Space - although you may be stuck in a time warp. 3) Wild West (although this might be stretching it) - most of you who chose this knows BM's outstanding level of effort to perfect his decals and equally know that his concept discussion generally centers on the WW theme. 4) Castle 5) Multiple themes with focus on City 6) Trains 7) Multiple. Choosing this does not mean you love Hinckley *wub* . 8) Pirates 9) Star Wars 10) Adventurers Take the test by comparing these themes above with what you chose. Is there a correlation?
  11. No, just one side. I'm not sure why the "Special Edition". It appears to be the same set as Lego SAH?
  12. Lego City Truck & Forklift Set # 7733 Pieces: 343 Price: $24.99 (USD) Store of Purchase: Toys R'Us Release Date: January 2008 After discussion of the mysterious yellow cargo contained in this new City transport set and a visit to my local TRU, I purchased this set. I was immediately pleased with the price/piece which I think is pretty reasonable (343 pieces for $25). Starting with the box, great City artwork boasting "Special Edition": Tha backside of the box (no alternate models comes as no surprise): The dreaded decals (I was looking for the skull and bones for radioactive, but no such luck): My favorite part of the set, a very clever forklift: Side view: And the backside: What I like about the forklift is the bars across the top giving the vehicle a "real-life" design. The double wheels in the front with two pieces that can hold the wheels also adds to a clever design: I like the figs (although not much new - perhaps I'll make the driver into a werewolf later): The set includes three cargo pallets, the first some sort of fuel with gauge: The 2nd, two Indy containers, and a square 2x4 brick (I have not put the decals on yet): And the mysterious yellow cargo. Your guess is as good as mine :-$ . On to the truck, the front section: The front grill: Another angle: The back: I like the opening mechanism that is very simple, but works well. Also is the large plate tile piece inside. I like this because the entire interior has no studs: And the trailer section of the truck: Orange and yellow tail lights: And the rear trailer open: The complete set: Summary: This is a neat set that reminds me a bit of classic Lego City (but larger). It is very playable and has a lot of accessories adding to the value. The build was very simple, and enjoyable (took me about an hour). It is a great addition to a number of City sets including the Cargo Ship, Container Stacker, the World City Cargo Train, and the new Cargo Plane. As I mentioned previously, I have not yet put on the decals that I'm sure will really add to the overall look of the set. The forklift is awesome and I like the cargo containers. The truck could have benefited from a few additional details (chrome smokers, and an undercarriage box that really opens). Considering everything, I would buy this set again. Hope you enjoy and perhaps this mysterious cargo will make its way into a Brickster Mystery. *y*
  13. No, this is not a new Eurobricks Mystery, but I was looking at some picks of the new Truck and Forklift (set 7733), and one picture got me thinking... What is this cargo suppose to be? Radioactive Waste? That favorite, high caffeine soda, Mountain Dew? or perhaps some other alien substance used for a Mars Mission. What do you think?
  14. Huey Lewis's "If This is It"? song comes to mind... I love it. Very creative! If This is It Video
  15. You goy it Pie Man! Good job (to you and the others that were able to guess who's who). *y* Norro, let me explain: I was at a formal Christmas party last year and as different people would go to the podium and speak, at one of the tables; after a person would talk (and during), people kept hearing someone say AMEN, AMEN... AMEN. Someone made a remark that the person must have religious tourettes. I thought it was the funniest thing (perhaps you had to be there). But seeing your "God Bless" on one of the threads made me think of this. No insult intended, and not well connected with you. In any case, that's the story and why I referred to Religious Tourettes Syndrome. I just added the crusader thing because of the religious connection. Thanks for taking it well. You're a sport!
  16. no and no
  17. Thanks CD. These were my first photo-edited pictures and really not very good; but thanks for your comments anyway, and welcome to EB.
  18. BrickMiner's Rail Road Station is better than these two. Take a look, but responses belong on his thread vs. this one. This is a poll for official sets. Here's a link to my favorite of his collection: Legoredo Station
  19. 60% - not as well as you think.
  20. I didn't think anyone picked that up. I'm impressed. - but I was just kidding. Actually, I always wanted to do a mystery around an old lighthouse and have been waiting for years for Lego to offer one. The old Dolphin Point light was a little too small and a little too pink for me; then came the Sponge Bob Lighthouse (which looks like one piece); but now, a real lighthouse. *sweet* . But I have to feel inspired to write. It comes and goes. Right now, I'm not feeling it. To force it would be disasterous. I'll do something in the future. We'll see.
  21. I was going back through some old threads, and came across the "Sinister Secret of the Stockade" (as well as a few others. After reading, I began laughing out loud. I was thinking, since I haven't done much building lately, I need to do something to either bring some laughs, or share a little wit, so this is it. Hinckley and I are playing a game of Freaky Friday. Not you! - Now your just making that up. You bad >:-) !
  22. Oh my G@%! I'm back on Mystery Ship! X-O Wake me please... :'-( someone give me a swirley!
  23. Definately, and it has nothing do do with my comic relief...
