My over-engineered LEGO Coaster.
Doctor Sinister replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in Special LEGO Themes
About half a pound - 200g or so...ish. I used a whole pack of blue plates. It's about four times bigger than it needs to be. :-D Dr. S. -
My over-engineered LEGO Coaster.
Doctor Sinister replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not "far too heavy and cumbersome for the very simple job it's supposed to do"? That's how my Wife described it... :-D Dr. S. -
I just found a LEGO Coaster I made about 6 years ago when I was bored. Is it over-engineered or a work of genius? Perhaps we could have a fun competition - design the most insane LEGO Coaster to hold your Tea/Coke/Whatever? Dr. S.

Incredible - I can see Tabletown getting a major overhaul next year - this set is MINE! Dr. S.

How Much New Castle Have You Bought?
Doctor Sinister replied to Lamanda2's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I went a bit mad seeing as I didn't have any Castle stuff at all before this year... 1 Castle. 1 Skeleton Tower. 3 Prison Carriages. 2 Crossbows. 2 Catapults. 1 Final Joust. 1 Skeleton Ship Attack. Various Skellies from eBay... X-D And a Chess Set. Dr. S. -

Last WWII Modular Extension to 'Abandoned Nazi Hideout'
Doctor Sinister replied to SirNadroj's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow...that's...grim. I mean the way those people are dying - the MOC itself is excellent! *wub* That whole street seems really "alive" now - I have images of a city, being bombed to smithereens as the Allies approach, the burning buildings casting smoke and debris everywhere whilst desperate and greedy evil Nazis grab their collected loot from the arthouses of Europe and scarper, fending off the first Allied probes into the town. Dammit, you've done it again, you've got me thinking of back stories for the characters in your MOC! Dr. S. -
Probably the original X-Wing set as it's great for playability, parts and fun. Dr. S.

That's a genius idea! If it were me I'd write "Give me your LEGO or I destroy the planet" but that only works because of my nuclear stockpile. Dr. S.

Just wanted to say, thanks for hosting the competition and good luck to my fellow contestants, we've all done Douglas proud. *y* Dr. S. -
I like it - I think the ship is great, and the crew are fantastic - as I was looking at the lineup I could just imagine the circumstances that might have thrown them together, the rivalries that might normally exist for this crew who only have each other to rely on, the petty feuds...sorry, getting a bit carried away. If I'd made something like this I'd never take it apart, I'd write little stories about the characters. *wub* Dr. S.

What game are we playing at the moment?
Doctor Sinister replied to Mr Hobbles's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I used to be really into gaming - I have about 300 titles here from various PCs over the years, GameBoys of all types etc. I even review games for another website I work for. Right now though I'm only playing two games - BF2142 which I recently started playing again after a 6-month break (I'm now one rank away from Colonel) and the gorgeous Supreme Commander. Dr. S. -
Woah! Now that is super-cool! Looks mean, and with changing geometry too - awesome! Dr. S.

Awww...what a nice happy ending. Dr. S.

This is a great idea and sorely needed, my only comment would be that the stop lights would probably fall over if you actually built them that way - I think something stronger would be needed to support them. Dr. S.

I dunno, I still feel kind of guilty stripping it for the parts - I've even managed to take the board apart! The baseplate is useless of course, mangled and glued but the plates are OK. Dr. S.

Some are from a Chess set, most are from proper sets that I bought - I have the complete range of 2007 Castle, a few dupes of some sets, a couple of Skellies are from eBay. Dr. S.

Contractually they are obliged to be captured regularly so they can be rescued - on this basis they are forbidden to carry weapons. Dr. S.

Erm, if I build a set that uses, say, 1/1 "pips" as headlights, the LEGO logo has to be oriented the correct way up. Sometimes I'll strip a model so the LEGO logo faces the "right" way or all the same way (as much as possible anyway). If my kids have touched my Imperial parade in the living room I CANNOT leave the house without standing the troops up correctly to attention. And Doug - I swallowed a piece of LEGO once, about 25 years ago in fact - I never saw it come out again...for all I know I am still part LEGO myself. I am a LEGO Cyborg! Dr. S.
-
It strikes me that this set, once built, is going to be a nightmare to more and store - one tiny false move and any one of those tiny greebles on the hull could fall off - and you're gonna have a devil of a time working out which one and where it goes! I'm still jealous though... *wub* Dr. S.

A Hard Day's Fight - INTERACTIVE!
Doctor Sinister replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Good question, been back at work so haven't started them yet - maybe soon. Dr. S. -
I'm hoping to make it even larger but Mrs S is getting a bit annoyed that my LEGO has spread from the garage, to my office, to the living room and now the dining room - a tactical withdrawal may be needed... :-D Dr. S.

Well, here is my modest Skeleton Army ready to do battle! And here are their opponents - the proud Army of the Crown! Dr. S.
