Thanks - although it's actually the other way around, that picture of me is at least ten years old, Doctor Sinister is a character I created a LOOOOONNNGGG time ago - I only relatively recently decided that Tabletown should have its own Doctor Sinister. :-) Dr. S.

Vignette - a Tiny version of Tabletown!
Doctor Sinister replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Town
The cool thing is that if you ever go away on holiday, business trip, secret mission or whatever, you can take your whole town with you in your pocket! Dr. S. -
Here I am, again. :-) Dr. S.

Very nice! Only one minor point, I think your ROV should have the propeller at the rear enclosed by some kind of protective frame so it doesn't get damaged whilst negotiating tricky corners investigating rock formations or sunk U-boats. :-) Dr. S.

Hey wow, I just took a look around that site and my Tabletown is listed on this page! That's really cool! Dr. S.

Contests & MOC challenge subforum

I humbly agree that there could be a separate area for competitions etc. as it's hard to keep track of them all at the moment. But as *vader* says, it's being discussed, so I guess we'll wait to see if anything happens. *y* Dr. S. -

Vignette - a Tiny version of Tabletown!
Doctor Sinister replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Town
Oh, do you mean the Nova Sector one? There's a Yahoo discussion group where things used to happen - but that was years ago, I hold a forlorn hope that one day it might pick up again and we might make a game out of it, but for now, Nova Sector is kind of on hold. The Tabletown website however is regularly updated. Dr. S. -
Vignette - a Tiny version of Tabletown!

They are there - my ISP appears to be having some problems, which is about the 3rd Sunday in a row and I'm about to ring them up - I don't pay for commercial webspace for timeouts like this to keep happening. Try hitting refresh. Dr. S. -
This could just as equally go in the Towns forum as well I guess, but here goes. OK, so here is the real Tabletown, taken a couple of weeks ago: And here it is, the Vignette! Quite hard to get all the features in, but you can see the Crane, some of the train tracks, the harbour area (with another crane), the green football stadium, and a few high-rise buildings. The white tiles on the wall represent the clouds that float above the real Tabletown. The coloured bricks below the table contain my loose LEGO and bags and bags of complete kits, all in a semi-built state and ready for display within minutes. LEGO Doctor Sinister is very happy to be Mayor not only of the real Tabletown but also of his own miniature one. Wow, that could go on forever...if Tiny Tabletown has its own Mayor, does it also have a Tiny Tabletown of its own? And if so, does it have its own Doctor Sinister with yet another Tiny Tabletown...wow, my head hurts. I've even recreated one of the planes suspended above the real Tabletown. Dr. S.

I wondered if offsetting the studs would work, but if there's a general misalignment there to start with, probably not. Dr. S.
-
First off - lovely model, in a hideous ramshackle type way. :-D Secondly, are you saying that the stud widths aren't quite aligned - and this is what's causing the movement? If not, perhaps you can elaborate, but if so, have you considered an offset stud configuration in that area? Dr. S.

Good answer! Dr. S.
