  1. Wow - can I have a picture of this as well please? Dr. S.
  2. Wow - I'd love to see your town (so I can send in the troops and take over :-D ). *y* Dr. S.
  3. Tell me about it, my container ship has to leave port if I want to run my trains or they scuff against the hull - the waterfront is so tight for space! Dr. S.
  4. Thanks muchly! *y* Dr. S.
  5. I've just noticed that the amended rules require me to nominate a picture for the voting, can you use this one please? Dr. S.
  6. The second one looks better - I'm not sure if it will wholly negate the ability for defenders to shoot at attackers from the flanks, I reckon that'll be OK. In addition, anyone caught in there at the door could perhaps be subjected to some lovely burning oil from above - were you so inclined to build in such a feature. Dr. S.
  7. Yes it is! :-D Oddly enough, on my test track (separate from Tabletown) it's better if you run it backwards. News here! Dr. S.
  8. Working on that right now... Dr. S.
  9. Here I am! http://uk.youtube.com/user/DoctorSinister1 Dr. S.
  10. 1) When purchasing a tube of wood glue, ALWAYS accept the offer of a bag to carry it in. Do NOT say "No, it's OK" and proceed to place it in your pocket only for it to leak and glue your trouser pocket tightly shut. 2) When shopping with a two-year old boy sitting in the trolley, do NOT let him "look after" the carrier bag containing three loaves of bread unless you like your bread to be squashed when he decides to sit on it. 3) My new LEGO remote-control train will NOT take the corners in Tabletown at full speed but will instead de-rail itself, smash into the football stadium, kill hundreds of spectators and then plunge into the harbour, taking a container ship with it. This is not good. That is all. Dr. S.
  11. That is...beautiful. *wub* Love the rotors, and the guns too - kind of looks so retro' it's futuristic - almost like an Ugly. Dr. S.
  12. I think it's the "purist" thing kicking in - look at it this way, if you were building something from scratch out of wooden matchsticks, would you worry about using a plastic toothpick in there somewhere? There are modelmakers who would baulk at such an idea, they like the fact that they ONLY used matchsticks, I think a lot of LEGO builders are the same. Dr. S.
  13. My thoughts exactly - I still have Marvin here and he's unemployed now... Oh, and this Vig' is cool. Dr. S.
  14. Oh man...you rock. This is brilliant. Dr. S.
  15. Games Without Frontiers - Peter Gabriel. Dr. S.
  16. Hmmm...it would only be "ironic" if I had known what it was in the first place - in the opening post it was suggested it could be used as part of a building, Holodoc later said it was an "orange wall thingy" - so I merely picked up on that. No irony there I'm afraid. Dr. S.
  17. I voted no - one look at that wall thingy, the baby and the highchair put me right off. Dr. S.
  18. Thanks for this. *y* Dr. S.
  19. Well, mine has one vote, which is nice... :-D :-D :-D Dr. S.
  20. Possibly. Yes, the Liberator was the big white ship - from Blake's 7. Dr. S.
  21. Same here - closely followed by every other set in the first wave. Dr. S.
  22. So tell me...what was that Liberator model like in real life? I wish I could have seen it, it's my favourite starship of all time. Maybe Ed' will bring it along to the Brickish Christmas party... Dr. S.
  23. Good luck to my fellow constestants - and may the best and fastest ship win! *y* Dr. S.
  24. As it happens, I agree with you, I was merely trying to find a way to keep everyone happy as there are some who clearly aren't. And...I'm still hiding. :-) Dr. S.
  25. I'm kind of nervous about posting this lest anyone feel that as a contestant my views might be seen as "sour grapes", but purely in an effort to restore happiness to Eurobricks, I was wondering...perhaps the compo' could be split between "pure" vigs and non-vigs? 8-| I like making Vig's as the vast majority of my LEGO is tied up in my town and in sets I have on display - thus I simply can't compete with building huge structures and I won't enter competitions of that nature. A Vig' however is perfect, it means you don't need a vast supply of bricks, and it forces one to be more creative, IMO, as there is a smaller space in which to work and the little details will therefore show themselves more. But the rules were quite clear, overlap was fine - and as a result we have an entry from *yoda*, which is fab' along with Grevious and some others - and I love those constructions - however, in view of the current discussion, perhaps my suggestion might be considered? I have my coat on standby and now I'm off to hide. :-$ Dr. S.
