Killing the Dead Contest Discussion

Great entry *yoda* ! We have a load of really top-notch Vig's here! Dr. S. -
Just messing with some lighting effects - freezing my fingers off taking snapshots of LEGO at night...brrrr... A strange ethereal light surrounds the brave knight as he heads to his destiny...the Black Skeleton Tower... Dr. S.

Nice Vig' - this one would have made a better entry, IMO. Dr. S.

Yes! A dog! This ran through my head but I dismissed it as I couldn't build one - yours is superb and a sure-fire way of exterminating those Skellies! *y* Dr. S. -

Beautiful entry Grevious! I love your laser. At first I thought it was a gigantic hammer, which was my other option, but I see you went for a kind of retro high-tech look, which is brilliant! Dr. S. -
I got persuaded to open a page by a friend overseas but I don't do anything with it these days... Dr. S.

STOP THIS ENDLESS WAR: The Vignette
Doctor Sinister replied to SirNadroj's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The pictures look a little washed out - is that deliberate? It's slightly hard to make out the details. I like the forced perspective idea though. Won't get into a discussion about the war. :-D Dr. S. -

Post Apocolyptic Duck Boats: Fight Against the Mutant Sharks!
Doctor Sinister replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Can I come and live in your Post-Apoc world? It seems so much more interesting there... Dr. S. -
The thought occurs to me...did LEGO workers all those years ago, painting their wooden ducks, think to themselves "What's with all this Automatic Binding Brick nonsense? Why don't we concentrate on the things that make money - wooden ducks - instead of this cheap plastic rubbish?" Dr. S.
-
That would certainly work! Dr. S.

Chaps, here is a final farewell from LEGO Marvin and the Frogstar Tank as pictured just a couple of minutes ago receiving congratulations from my SigFig. They will be preserved in perpetuity in honour of Douglas and this competition. If we ever run another HH compo', perhaps Marvin will come out of retirement. Dr. S. -
Awesome review, fantastic pictures, feels like I have it here in my hands...which I never will. :-( Dr. S.
-
I do agree with you - unless the Pirates are planning on loading it up with so much treasure, the waterline will rise and those cannons will be in their "normal" position. X-D Dr. S.

I downloaded it for my new PC recently and it was bundled with all of that other stuff - you used to have to get them all separately. IMO, LDraw is unusable on its own until you add MLCAD to the mix and then you are cooking with gas. :-) Dr. S.

Nice board. With a little modification - you could turn it into a microscale Fighter craft. Or a nanoscale Battlecruiser! Dr. S.

This eternal rivalry can only end in nuclear confrontation - fortunately I have a ready-made bunker. Nice footage, hope to see more - I might try my hand at this one day although I'm scared... Dr. S.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Vignette! VOTE NOW!
Doctor Sinister replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow! I won! :-$ Thank you to everyone who voted for me...(unfurls huge list)...I'd also like to thank my Manager, my Agent, my Grandma, and of course Douglas himself, plus my cats, my children...(receives huge whack on the head, drops list). Erm, yes, where was I? This was a great competition, I had fun designing my little Tank, although it was a bugger to get it right with those treads. Marvin himself was a challenge as well, but I'm very pleased with how he turned out - and using Technic pieces no less, I don't really "do" Technic. Marvin is actually nearly as articulated as a Minifig and his torso turns as well, he's dead cool! The scene itself was fun to design and construct too, I'm glad others found it amusing. Congratulations to my fellow contestants, all the other entries were brilliant. Thank you SW4J for my title - wow, I have a title! I didn't know if I would end up as a Hoopy Frood or what...thanks. Hitch-Hike ON! Dr. S. -
Agreed. If they were that stupid they wouldn't be able to read the writing on the pen anyway... Dr. S.

This has never happened to me - not once. I am wondering - might this be a North American only problem, perhaps quality control at the LEGO factory over there is suffering? Dr. S.
