  1. During a routine patrol on Thursday 06/12/07, Recon' Troopers from the Tabletown Army stumbled across enemy troops from BestLockLand some three miles within the densely forested area in the north west sector of the Tabletown Region. Apparently catching the enemy by surprise, the enemy troops were swiftly flanked, after which a brief firefight ensued which saw one of the two enemy soldiers shot and severely wounded. There were no Tabletown casualties. Link to full story! Dr. S.
  2. You can twin with Tabletown - we can do a nuclear weapons exchange program. Dr. S.
  3. Wow, awesome stockade, sounds like fun! Dr. S.
  4. No worries, it's a good start. Keep us informed! So...who wants to twin with Tabletown? My proposal is that I'll link to your website and vice-versa and I would host a few pictures of your town on my site, details of what it's like etc. We can work on a temporary minifig exchange later on... www.tabletown.co.uk Dr. S.
  5. I postulated a town network some weeks ago but not many people "bit". This could be a way of doing a similar thing. I think it would be really cool for the community. Dr. S.
  6. I had the Sarge in there at one point shouting at the men but this was more a lighting test than anything. Yes, those are Brickarms pulse rifles - I have another 30 on order. Dr. S.
  7. Members of the 44th Tabletown Infantry Division embark upon the first patrol of their assigned sector near the BestLockLand Border. Dr. S.
  8. Cool idea, I like it! *y* Dr. S.
  9. I've posted this in the discussion area in the Eurobricks Flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/516227@N20/di...57603379752239/ Dr. S.
  10. OK, so here's what I've finally gone for. From left to right - General (Red), Captain (Purple), Sergeant (Black), Military Police (Grey), Recon' (Tan), Medic (White), Maintenance/Gunner (Orange), Pilot (Blue), Driver (Yellow) and Trooper (Green). All troops can also be identified from the rear - all Officers have red backpacks. Dr. S.
  11. Ooh, nice! That could be the way to go...AND keep the asymmetrical sleeve thingy ('cos I like it!). Ta! Dr. S.
  12. Yeah, we can do that on Flickr can't we? I could set up a Eurobricks group on Flickr and anyone interested could add their town to the map... Dr. S.
  13. I presume most members here are familiar with the concept of "twinning" a town with one in another country? For example, where I live (Basingstoke, UK) we're twinned Alen
  14. Cheers. Yeah, I'd love to see some of your stuff. Dr. S.
  15. Actually the visors I've been using are trans-black, it just doesn't come over that well in the pix. I'm all mixed up about this arm business now, some people like 2 sleeves, some like 1. My preference is for 1 so I've gone back again. Argh! I don't know! *wacko* Dr. S.
  16. Thanks. To save you finding all the threads, you can go straight here to see the whole lot if you like. Dr. S.
  17. Uh oh...the General has come around for a snap inspection. :-D Dr. S. That's fine, but now they can't see where they are going so they keep tripping over stuff. :-D Dr. S. Two-armed version (the Captain is NOT happy as those torsos came with white arms in the first place - he says can we make our minds up please. :-D ) Dr. S.
  18. Both arms is certainly an option, although I kind of like the asymmetry of this setup - the same way that the Stormtroopers on Tatooine had shoulder pauldrons on one side, don't ask me why. 8-| If I could find a green cap (like a Cop's hat) from my local Bricklink supplier - I'd change it, for sure (my favourite Bricklink seller is in my own town and even delivers to my doorstep!). Re' the visors, my reasoning was that all troops would have the same basic equipment, a different visor might imply a different functionality helmet - and if one trooper had to swap equipment in battle, he should be able to do so with anyone without fear of it being any different. I can see the appeal of custom decals - I can imagine sergeant's stripes on the back of his helmet, but I'm really loathe to go down that route - besides I've neither the skill nor the patience to do it and if I did do it I've no doubt I'd get it wrong. :-/ Dr. S.
  19. I considered that one but to be honest the gun tucked into the belt put me off. It is a good torso, but I wanted something more utilitarian. Dr. S.
  20. I got the idea from Space 1999 - the Moonbase Commander had a black sleeve, I think the security guys had red. I gave the Officer the white sleeve as I figured he'd be hiding inside the APC and wouldn't need the camo' so much. :-D I'm working on more backpacks - different colours is not a bad idea. Dr. S.
  21. From left to right, Platoon captain (white sleeve), Platoon Sergeant (black sleeve) and regular trooper (standard green sleeve). Too weird? I figured troops would need to identify their leaders in a battle, and I don't want to go down the custom decal route (can't be bothered basically and it turns out I must be some kind of purist!). :-D Dr. S.
  22. Thank you Hinckley, that means a lot. :-$ I really am all greened-out now. I know I said this before, but my green stocks are nearly exhausted and my fingers hurt after nearly two solid weeks of building, taking apart, building, dropping, swearing and rebuilding. Honestly, I spent Sunday afternoon ripping arms out of minifig torsos and pressing new ones back in and my thumb is really sore. :-D I may just content myself with planning some kind of barracks for these guys (it won't be green though!!) or just doing action shots with the troops. Dr. S.
  23. It was a close call (that mousetrap is so cool) but I went for Sinner. All the creations are practical, fun and well built but his was the coolest, for me. Thanks everyone for entering my little compo'. Dr. S.
  24. Thank you for putting this together Sinner! Now I must give some serious thought as to which item to vote for... Dr. S.
