LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I forget that the third Fantastic Beasts movie is slated for Fall next year as @gedren_y just mentioned, so perhaps a third Wizarding World CMS will instead be allotted for then as a tie-in. Hmmm, the Billion Brick Race was unfortunately shelved due to TLG and WB breaking their cinematic partnership ties as so to move-on over to Universal Pictures, presumably to start up another cinematic universe. -
I know we just had the Johnny Thunder homage with Series 19's Jungle Explorer, but yeah, I do wish this Series offered at least one contribution to the CMF Adventurer-Verse. I mean really, come on, I've been waiting way too long for an Aviatrix CMF...

Oooooh, I've forgotten about this project! It's not often you see Adventurer-themed projects submitted to LEGO Ideas, and this is a pretty sweet one considering... Heads up to @The Reader if he's around, as he'd definitely take some interest in this one...

I was quite flabbergasted to see Series 20's Pajama Girl with a stuffed bunny of all things... ...seriously, could TLG be taking notes, or am I missing something? So true, so true...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So, I know we've just had our first look at Series 20, but does anyone here want to take a gander at what point next year Series 21 might released? Personally, I'm feeling we might end-up waiting for as long as we did between the releases of Series 18 and Series 19, with a release perhaps around August/September 2021? -
I've seen a few commentators elsewhere sum-up the Series in this way: It'd be an alright Series 21, but it's a lousy Series 20. Seriously, for as lame as I consider Series 18 to be for particular reasons, it did put effort into commemorating the milestone it honored, even celebrating the legacy of the Collectable Minifigure theme despite the Minifigure's 40th Anniversary instead being the focal point. I mean, I know one could say that Series 20 had a hard act to follow trying to top Series 18's act, but it didn't need to, yet it's own commemorative effort in marking this milestone is still so damn apathetic. OK, trying to get past that lament, how do I at least feel about its individual offerings now that we've finally have images? Well, for me the strongest CMF in this Series has to be the "Red Ranger" so to speak, as the Pirate Lass and Viking that I was originally the most excited for just aren't all that I'd hoped they'd be. Other than that, my second favorite next to the "Red Ranger" is probably the Pajama Girl, who's new stuffed bunny mold and Hermione hairpiece recolor make the figure quite worthwhile.

Wow, that actually makes too much sense... -
I actually didn't expect the "Red Ranger" to be nearly that "on-the-nose" with the Power Ranger look... On the other hand, the Pirate and Viking are plainer than I thought they'd be...

Good eyes there, perhaps it is a removable piece! If it is, I personally want to see how it'd look on a minifigure myself... Pfffft, it wouldn't be a minifigure if it did have a nose now would it? -
Looks like @Zusammengebaut has their live-ticker up for the NY Toy Fair, so stay tuned! Zusammengebaut - Live Ticker: LEGO News New York Toy Fair 2020

Minions 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Say, does the one "rotund" Minion there (Otto I guess his name is) with the specialized body have a fixed hairpiece, or could it be removable? -

Not sure if this is supposed to be her primary costume, but at least this is our first-look at Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman/Selina Kyle... Screen Rant - First Look at Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman Costume In The Batman Set Photos -
I believe that "geometric design" is supposed to be a 2x2 brick on its side, and it's also on his robe.

Minions 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Huh, while I'm glad to see that the only "human" represented in these sets didn't go the specially-molded head route, that's kinda dampened by the fact that the Minion figures are too large to properly scale-up against minifigure characters that represent adults, hence why they end-up giving "adolescent" Gru otherwise adult-sized legs. Besides that though, those Brick-Built Minions and their interior living spaces are a nice unintentional callback to the Build-A-Bob set from 2006. -

Huh, interesting look, I guess its "DIY" look helps distinguish it from the Nolan Trilogy's repurposed WayneTech approach... ...as for that cowl, Lego will likely get by just fine reusing the long-eared "TLBM" cowl, perhaps with a Black eye-band printed underneath representing those goggles. -
It is a pretty nice part now that I see it, but given the archetype, I feel like an exclusive recolor of Parker's beanie/ponytail combo would've done the job just fine. If there were still three non-licensed CMS being released a year rather than just one, I could've potentially had an Aviatrix, a generic Zorro, a female counterpart to Series 17's Retro Spaceman, a Sky Pirate, a Private Detective, an Archaeologist, and too many long-desired archetypes a whole lot sooner...

The Brick Fan - LEGO Ideas Retro Bowling Alley Achieves 10,000 Supporters Nope, it's a completely original creation, inspired after the Decopunk/Retrofuturistic work of Vincent Gashod, most particularly his SL20 Streamliner... Here's a description by the project's creator that explains what sorta particular niche his creation fits into... -
Fair enough possibility, but I just don't see why they couldn't start giving all "City" archetypes from now on a "vintage" twist, making them more period-specific to recent decades past such as the '60s and the '80s as so not to overlap with the City theme.
