Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BacktoBricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thing is, I don't think you can really have a Gringotts set without including Griphook. But it wouldn't really make sense to include PS Griphook without PS Harry and as PS Harry was included as a DA exclusive I feel like that rules out PS Griphook. So then it would have to be DH Griphook, but I agree that the inclusion of him in the CMF doesn't really make much sense then. ? -

I could see them doing Gringotts with the facade, atrium and Ironbelly as one set that scales with DA, and then some tracks and a vault as another set that can connect to the back or be displayed separately. Then again the fact that we got PS Diagon Alley outfit as an exclusive minifigure in DA would, to my thinking, rule out a set with tracks, cart and vault based on PS. There's really no alternate version of PS Harry they could include in that set. So that would mean they would need to base the figures in DH. So then they would have to spread DH Ron, Hermione, Harry, Griphook etc over the two sets and I could see them doing that by including Harry in both sets and then polyjuiced Ron and Hermione with the cart set and unpolyjuiced Ron and Hermione with the main set and Griphook and Bogrod with either one or spread over the two. -

Oh yes forgot about Hogsmeade. I suppose I thought that would be left for a year or so as we got similar in DA this year. That being said, we could get a Shrieking Shack / Honeydukes / Three Broomsticks combo with the figures based on POA. It would make the 'boring' (but really well printed) Ron and Hermione from this year's CMF make sense; the figure choices usually makes sense when you pair them with the sets released around them. Of course there is also the Chamber of Secrets, but I'm thinking that may be one of the $100 ish sets. Well your insta famous now @Guyon2002 ?Although remember, if you have been playing the long game and turn out to be He Who Must Not Be Named 3.0 we have out pitchforks sharpened and ready. ? -

For any UKFOLS who might be interested, seems we will be getting Bespin Luke in next month's Lego magazine and not in October's issue: https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-star-wars-magazine-issue-64-available-now/ -

@Guyon2002 Salt applied, that's an expensive wave, but I'm totally there for it. I'm thinking $120 / $130 are the castle section and maybe Gringotts and then $250 could be a decent Durmstrang ship. Or do you think the $250 is Gringotts? -

I wasn't going to be getting these unless the new minifigures made them worth it, so I was thinking I may need to pick up Hufflepuff and Gryffindor (if McGonagall has a skirt piece). But now I'm thinking I'm going to want to get all four to display closed. -

The shuttle looks very close to the 2015 one at first glance except it looks like it's crashed into a wall and pushed its cockpit in. Doesn't quite capture the sleek sloping cockpit of the in universe material, but a good rendition nevertheless. I'm really hoping it comes with some good figures like camo poncho Luke and Leia, but I have to say I'm not holding out hope. The Tie looks very good and is exactly what a lot of people have been asking for I think: still detailed, but at a more reasonable price point. A great play or display piece. The X-Wing is obviously not as good as the 2018 version and the end is a bit blocky, but I don't think without googling for a comparison photo that most consumers will even know there's been a 'downgrade'. It still resembles the source material well. Anyone else think the Han with the microfighter is the same as in 75243 (blue jacket hoth Han with no dual moulded legs or mask)? -

Yeah the Luke in 75098 from 2016 had a double sided head with pre and post wampa so I'm hoping it's that. -

Is that Luke on the microfighter Tauntaun? It would be great to get the Luke with the bruised face from the Wampa attack again. -

So if 2021 is predominantly Deathly Hallows based and includes a Gringotts and Hogwarts Bell Towers, after that what major scenes do we still have left uncovered? (I'm thinking out loud here with this list, so do add anything I've forgotten.) Forbidden Corridor / Fluffy Leaky Cauldron / DA entrance Chamber of Secrets Shrieking Shack / Hogsmeade Durmstrang Ship Lake challenge 12 Grimmauld Place Department of Mysteries Inferi Cave (I can't see Lego covering this one at all, but ...) Mix these larger sets in with some smaller sets, such as maybe a Hagrid's Motorbike, Quidditch World cup tent, part of the Triwizard maze etc, and I'd say we could easily have until 2024 like @Guyon2002 says even without remakes, especially if Fantastic Beasts sets take a couple of slots one year. -

Thanks. I have to get someone to pick one up for me from a supermarket so don't want to send them on a wild goose chase too soon. -

Sorry if this was said before, but does anybody know the release date for the magazine with Bespin Luke in? TIA -
You are stronger than I am, although to be fair I haven't spent anything on LSW this year ... yet.

Mos Eisley Cantina. I had told myself to stick to Harry Potter and collecting one theme, but after six days post release I couldn't resist anymore. It's too beautiful and creates too much nostalgia I just couldn't not get it.

Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BacktoBricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've tried to stay away from purchasing old figures as I think most of them will be redone and usually (Bellatrix's skirt not withstanding) done better, and apart from Fluffy and 2010 Dobby because he's just adorable, I've managed it. That being said, this is a figure I've seriously considered getting, but I held off because I thought we might get a Ministry duel set this year. If we don't get more Death Eaters in the next couple of years though I may pick this one up, but I've always thought it was just a random Death Eater. -

It's weird. When I went to bed just before midnight in the UK it was showing a banner about the lightsaber at the top of the page. If you clicked on it, it took you to the cantina page. But you couldn't purchase the cantina yet, although it did say VIP early access would start on the 16th. Just looked again now almost seven hours past midnight and the cantina still can't be bought, but the VIP access date has also gone! The lightsaber banner is still at the top of the page though and again leads you to the cantina and it seems to be a cantina exclusive because I've tried adding over £200 of other SW sets to basket and it doesn't show. Putting the lightsaber banner up though without showing the terms of the promo and the page leading to an item that can't even be bought is just Lego's usual fun and games though, but it doesn't look very professional at all. The Diagon Alley release went super smoothly compared to this. -
