  1. Just realized I hadn't voted yet... 6: 10 1: 6 7: 4 2: 3 3: 2 5: 1 Good luck everyone, you've all made great rides!
  2. I only had two... It seems pretty effective so far, I guess you could say it's a new hope...
  3. MLCad is for building, not rendering, and technically neither is LPub3D - it uses either LGLite, LDView, or POV-Ray to do the rendering. If you really want an all-in-one program, I'd suggest checking out Stud.io.
  4. I agree, more rules only makes for a more complicated contest... While that might be a nice idea, it would also probably mean that builders will focus less on functions, due to not having a way to show them. +1
  5. Maybe, but TC13 was supposed to have no prizes, and there were still over 20 entries.
  6. I have updated the main post, and included some more information. I've also made a GIF out of the small animation I put in the video: (just because I can )
  7. Well amusement park rides are supposed to be colorful, aren't they?
  8. Me too, I was expecting there to be a lot more entries by now... BTW, there's a comment in the entry topic.
  9. Thanks, in theory there is no limit to what movements can be programmed, so I will probably try a few others before I disassemble it. Thanks! I use VideoPad, it's not the best, but I find it easy to use. It is a paid program, but it is possible to keep the full-feature trial forever... I really should change, but I haven't yet found anything suitable...
  10. It's finished! I will be updating the main post (and probably the entry post) with more information soon, but for now, here's the video:
  11. 8. The Zapper An old ride, with a new twist - literally! Quick stats: Height (to top of support structure): 30 studs (24cm / 9.45") Width: 32 studs (25.6cm / 10") Depth: 34.5 studs (27.6cm / 10.86") Weight (with batteries and passengers): 1968g - yes, that really is the exact weight! (check out the discussion topic below to find out more ) Video: More photos: Find out more about this MOC, and share you're thoughts in the discussion topic :
  12. Nice work, the color scheme looks great! BTW, I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I think it really looks like a big robot... Maybe you should some kind of name that incorporates that, something like Robo-Spin maybe?
  13. That's great, I really didn't want have to rush making the photos and video, so those extra days will really help. I'm sure @BrickbyBrickTechnic will appreciate it too...
  14. Looks great, especially considering it's a C-model +1
  15. Nice, though IMO the plants don't really suit it...
  16. Update time! I've been doing quite a bit work today, and it's gone quite well, but first I must say thanks to @Erik Leppen for his comment, as it was just the motivation I needed to get this build back on track I also realized I was getting too far away from the original design of the Zipper, so before I did some building, I decided to do some research. I found some helpful things, but I also found this: Anyway, back to the update... I decided to base the color scheme on this image of a model of the Zipper I found: Here's what I changed: The railing is now yellow, and is built with basic bricks, with a opening gate in the middle. The main arm is now blue, and has had a few small changes to accommodate the limited blue parts I have. The support structure is now red, and has had the side panels removed (because I don't have them in red). At the moment I kind of think it's missing something, but other than the name (which I can't add because it would get in the way of the arm), I can't really think what to add... What do you guys think?
  17. You've got a good point there, I was kind of hesitant to rebuild it this close to the end of the contest, but now I think of it, it probably is the best thing to do... Well, if I'm to be honest, that's is actually what I did, as I did just quickly add it on before I took the photos... I really should put more work into it, as it is also supposed to be a safety feature too...
  18. I would prefer to keep the colors "mixed up" as they are, but I could still try it... Now that I think of it, though, I think using colored parts to replace the black panels would probably look much better... Nah, they'll be fine, they've got plenty of clutch power on their legs
  19. ...or maybe not Unfortunately using axles still didn't make it any looser, but I did manage to find a solution, even though it uses non-Technic parts... The ends of the arms attached to the parts are just long enough to fit into the holes in the 5L beams, with the half bushes acting as a spacer to prevent the seat from catching on the beams. If you look closely, you might also notice that there is a black pin sticking out of the 5L beam, this is need to make the seat rotate on each rotation of the main arm, as the seats are not balanced enough to rotate on their own (like the original zipper's seats did). As for decoration, well, you can tell me if you think it looks good or not: I personally think it needs a bit more color, but I'm not really sure where to put it...
  20. I agree with @Erik Leppen, what you've posted here almost seems like a step backwards... I'm sure you can do better, so don't stop building I also think this topic should probably be merged with the original topic...
  21. The seats are built to be loose, but for some reason they don't work as well when connected to the chain... That's what I thinking of doing, as I don't think I will be able to make every seat a different color. Well that's what the 8x16 tile was supposed to be for, but now that I think of it, it probably would be better to have it raised up with stairs...
  22. No idea, he hasn't been on Eurobricks since June... Great! I really want to see this finished, especially considering how far we have come...
  23. Well maybe not breaking necks, but it should definitely make riders vomit twice as quickly... Oh, and that motor is only set at half power... and the batteries are nearly flat...
