Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Unless Clem is also scum, that's pretty much impossible. We know there were 3 killers last night, so if 4 of 2 fake-claimed the vig, someone would have counterclaimed or Clem would know the real vig died. Good to see we all survived the night. Thanks Mr. Serial Killer for cooperating with us. Unless of course your kill failed, in which case chwee ni duh! I'm sure there'll be some interesting results to report on today.- 194 replies

Ok, I'm finally back behind my space computer. Seamus, you've stated multiple times that you think I'm suspicious, but you've never given an actual reason. Care to elaborate? Also, out of curiosity, would you have been happy to hammer Bock or would you have preferred a no lynch in that case? You seem to have taken a very arbitrary approach to voting ever since the two people you built a case against claimed PRs, which seems unusual for you. I know you've explained that you don't want to influence the vote, but I'm not buying that anyone is actually incapable of voting without you.- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 3, Spaceship Soldiers
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Since no PR claims have been contested and since Clem apparently knows if any prs would have died last night, I'm inclined to believe them. Rip and Bock have both pinged me, but Bock has been making some fairly impassioned posts today, which I usually see as his town tell. I will be back before the end of the day, but for now I will unvote: 4 of 2 (mostlytechnic) Vote : Rip (captain nemo)- 331 replies

I wouldn't consider questioning something scummy that you said and which you have no explanation for 'wasting time '. It seems you're using Paul's defense now, admitting to doing weird things and expecting us to forget about them.- 331 replies

I know it was a hypothetical, but if you knew it was a bad idea and you didn't recommend it, why did you post it at all? It just feels like a complicated theory scum would come up with to both appear helpful and to distract the thread and fill up time.- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 3, Spaceship Soldiers
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
My space computer isn't starting up so I typed a response on my phone which apparently didn't send. Even in the future nothing works. :rolleyeswithaguntohead: :daggerintheeye: 4 of 2, I still don't know why you posted up a detailed theory about prs and vanillas claiming to Clem and then negated it in the very same post. I'm also not sure why there HAS to be a scum among the Clem bandwagoners. I don't believe the scum would all vote for wen, but that doesn't necessarily mean some had to have voted for Clem. I find your vote on an inactive to be a scummier move than a Clem vote, personally. Paul, you said today that the main reason you voted for Dr wen was because you wanted to make sure he was hammered, but at the time you said something about you suspecting him before the bandwagon got moving. Zipzup, can you explain your code plan again? I'm still not quite following it. I can confirm that you sent me a pm where you initially told me that you had sent codes to seamus and Vazquez, then later on gave me a code that stated that x was the first number. Why did you specifically send codes to us, and what were you hoping to achieve if Vazquez and the tracker didn't die? Can you talk us through what would have happened in an ideal situation? I'm sure it must make sense, but I'm still not grasping it. I wasn't hovering. I woke up, read through a few pages worth of posts, noticed that there were only a few hours left in the day and voted for claw because of the suspicions I'd raised earlier.- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 3, Spaceship Soldiers
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm a little concerned as to why the investigator contacted you at all. Now that we've established that the clothes switcher isn't a proper role, I'm not quite sure why the cop would have outed themselves to a vanilla on Day Two for no real reason. Didn't a few of us note yesterday that a cop should be cautious about contacting someone they've 'cleared' due to the possibility of a godfather or framer/tailor? I just don't understand the urgency behind the cop's actions both yesterday and today. I'm talking about 4 of 2's suggestion-but-not-really-a-suggestion yesterday that if PRs claim to Clem, vanillas should claim to him first, and that both PRs and vanillas should inform other people that they are claiming to Clem so that they know if someone who claimed to Clem gets killed. 4 of 2 followed this complicated theory by saying we shouldn't claim to Clem though, which makes me wonder why he put so much thought into something he doesn't endorse himself. Getting back to the non-Wen votes on Day One though (now correctly coloured)... 6 votes for Clementine Lister (Lind Whisperer): (Chromeknight, Sir Stig, Xenophobic Monoxide, Lazychicken, Lady K, Dragonfire) 1 vote for Vasquez Rodriguez (Lady K): (Lind Whisperer) 1 vote for Hannah Ford (Ranger of the Forest): (Mostlytechnic) 4 of 2 gave Hannah one of those pokes scum often make in order to avoid associating with a bandwagon on a townie. He admitted that he thought both Wen and Clem were townies, so instead he decided to vote for someone for being inactive. This is a good place for the scum to sit, committing to neither option and thus not being culpable for the death of a townie. Instead, 4 of 2 raises a weak suspicion that can easily be dropped later. He later admits his vote was pointless, and uses that to implicate Clem when he agrees that Hannah was suspicious: It just seems strange how reluctant 4 of 2 was to vote for Clem or Wen. I don't understand how he had such a strong a town-read on them on the very first day, and why he was so reluctant to associate himself with either lynch. For now, I will Vote: 4 of 2 (mostlytechnic)- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 3, Spaceship Soldiers

This part in particular sticks out the most to me. It's very strange that Paul would admit to sheeping the vote after being accused of jumping on the bandwagon with no thought. Even though on Day One, he seemed to be trying to give us the opposite impression, saying his mind was made up, which suggests that he thought Wen was scummy before the bandwagon formed. Paul, can you confirm whether your vote on Wen was actually based on your opinion, as you initially claimed, or just a mindless bandwagon vote? It might be more interesting to look at who didn't vote for Dr. Wen, which has a smaller pool of survivors. I'm guessing the scum would want to spread their votes out a little, so I don't think they'd all vote for Wen. 6 votes for Clementine Lister (Lind Whisperer): (Chromeknight, Sir Stig, Xenophobic Monoxide, Lazychicken, Lady K, Dragonfire) 1 vote for Vasquez Rodriguez (Lady K): (Lind Whisperer) 1 vote for Hannah Ford (Ranger of the Forest): (Mostlytechnic) I'm getting fairly townie vibes off of Zipzop, Minga and Clem. Of the four, 4 of 2 strikes me as most likely to be scum. I'm still not sure what to make of his idea for PRs and vanillas to claim to Clem. I know he has since clarified that he didn't want anyone to claim to her, but why bring up this suggestion in the first place? It seems strange how much thought he put into this idea, even though he didn't agree with it in the first place.- 331 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 2, Space Oddity
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
None of these suspicions sound like anything the scum would have been eager to kill you for. I doubt that they'd conclude that you "know too much"... I still don't quite understand why we need to claim specifically to Seamus. Why not anyone else who was investigated? As far as I'm concerned, no one should be claiming to anyone until they have reason to trust them - not solely because of an investigation result. The chance that he is the godfather is just as likely as anyone else being the godfather though. And as has been mentioned, an investigation result on Seamus is actually more likely to be tampered with assuming a tailor/framer is in play. That's usually because they often do something to gain the town's trust. The times people have claimed to them before they gave a reason to trust them were the times we were punished. It just seems odd how keen you are on the idea of specifically claiming to Seamus, when so far he has given us little reason to trust him. This quote really bothers me. It reminds me of another comment of yours from earlier today: It feels like you know more about our current situation than a townie ought to know.- 256 replies

Agreed. Harriet, you seemed to imply you had more than one suspect yesterday, not just Dr Xen. Unless you suspected Rip too, but from what you said it sounds like she only started pinging you today. This is what you said yesterday: Even though also you said this a few hours earlier: You must have had another suspicion you were keeping close to the chest, since you'd already raised your concerns about Dr Wen. Blacktron Mafia: Day 2, Space Oddity
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm pretty sure Seamus tends to start town blocks when he isn't town too... I doubt we'll be able to get a town block together by today. If a cop investigates a townie on Night One, they're usually better off holding off on contacting them until they have a good reason to. There's always a risk they're the godfather, after all. I'm not sure why anyone would claim to Seamus on the off-chance he was investigated as a townie last night. While I agree that Clem claimed pretty prematurely, he was better off claiming publicly than privately at this point in the game. You seem to keep implying that Seamus is somehow more likely to be the godfather than anyone else. Why is that? Has there been anything about Seamus that makes you think he's the godfather? Or is it mainly just a metagame-y fear of yours? To be fair, since only a universal back-up and the dead would know no PRs are dead yet, that also means we have no way to verify what you're saying. There are potentially some scum roles that could enable you to fake your roleclaim, like a shapeshifter (it's not a common role, but one I've been using lately), a role cop or a redirector in certain cases. As you said, it would be an increasingly hard role to fake as time went on, but it's likely a PR will die within the first few days at least. However, Occam's razor tells me that you're more likely to be telling the truth about your role. I'm not sure why I have his razor or how it achieved sentience, but stranger things have occurred during some of my smuggling runs.- 256 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm not sure why you're suggesting that Seamus has to be your teammate in this scenario. Is he your teammate? It's equally likely that if he were a townie, you'd try to side with him to stay in his good graces. Scum have tried to defend townies plenty of times in the past. I'm not sure why you're insisting that suspecting more than one person at a time is a bad thing on Day One. I would argue that more suspicions = more info. Whether Clem is town or scum, the suspicions he has raised today should be able to help us later on. Speaking of suspicions... Do either of you have any new suspects you'd care to share with us?- 214 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I too find it odd how quick Clementine was to point out that Seamus could be the godfather. It just seems strangely specific and anticipatory of something that may happen down the line. However, she has also put herself out front and centre throughout the day, which doesn't seem like something scum would want to do on the first day. Personally, I am more wary of Dr. Wen for being just a little too quick to take Seamus' side. Looking back at your posts, I don't see much evidence that you were suspicious of Clementine. Your interactions with her felt to me as if you were hoping that she and everyone else would drop the issue so that we could move on to something else: From these posts, it doesn't look like you see Clementine as particularly scummy. It looks like you saw her more as a mistaken townie with a poorly thought-through argument. Because of all this, I will Vote: Doctor Wen (Xenophobic Monoxide)- 214 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It seems strange how quickly you brought all of this up. Before then, no one had mentioned anything to do with investigators or godfathers. I feel like you're anticipating a little too many things. No one trusts Seamus at the moment. If the cop gets a town result on Seamus, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. That space bridge. Are there bridges in space? There have been some strange leaps in logic today. From a joke about claiming to Seamus to a suggestion that Seamus is the godfather to an assumption that we're going to lynch Seamus because of that. As out of the blue as Clementine's comment about Seamus possibly being the godfather was, I don't think he ever suggested we lynch him today. I remember when I did a stint in space prison, we worked out a system to ensure we didn't get a lynch. The majority of prisoners thought it was a good idea then. Although come to think of it, I guess the majority of the prisoners were scum...- 214 replies

Ragnarök Now 3: Conclusion
MagPiesRUs replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think I'd have to actually go back and read through all the threads to actually give half-decent feedback. Maybe I could give some general feedback for the town as a whole and for the scum as a whole, but it would probably still be very inaccurate. I agree with that under normal circumstances, but I also feel that Day Eight was the scum's best shot at winning. I don't think TrumpetKing was ever going to win by himself, just because of the sheer numbers of confirmed townies he was up against. If the scum had gone into Night Eight with two players plus a townie lynched, they could have possibly turned things around. With a kill and a redirect, they could have potentially killed CMP or Chromeknight and redirected Pandora to Adam (though one of the scum probably would have been blocked). I guess the only problem would have been finding a fourth player to vote for you. -
Ragnarök Now 3: Conclusion
MagPiesRUs replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I've started writing down some feedback and thoughts on each player. I haven't quite gotten around to doing everyone yet, so I'll add the rest of the players in later when I get more time and when I refresh my memory a little (the game started almost 3 months ago after all!). I'll post the ones I've completed though: Brand (Brickelodeon): Loyal - voted out, Day One Night Action: You are a vigilante. Each night, you may kill one player. Comments: You were unlucky to receive the dreaded "Day One focus", and were even more unlucky to get stuck with a vote penalty. However, you should always claim if it looks like you're going to be lynched. At that point, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Claiming vig would have forced the town to switch votes, possibly leading to them catching scum instead in the process.Once you revealed you were the vig, you would have become a target for the scum, but you would also be a target for the protector and watcher. Chromeknight claimed blocker early on in the game, and lasted up until the end in spite of it. There's no telling how far you would have gotten. By not indicating that you are a PR, you give non-town a better chance of lying about their roles and getting away with it. As it happened, Pandora was caught killing someone and ended up claiming vig and nearly winning - something that could have been avoided fairly easily. Patrekr the Red (Palathadric): Loyal - murdered, Night One Night Action: None Comments: Thanks for playing in all three games! It's always good It's clear you enjoy the character, so I was sorry to see you die so early on. I guess you weren't trying to look like you had a PR, but good job somehow making the scum think that! Any time a vanilla dies instead of a PR, it's good news for the town. So nice unintentional sacrifice! Lambi (TheLazyChicken): Corrupted - murdered, Night One Night Action: You are a blocker. Each night you may target one player in order to prevent them from using their night action. Comments: You weren't around long so I can't say much about your gameplay. However, as scum it's usually best to stick to an opinion and follow through on it. Weighing up both sides of the Tammo-Brickelodeon traitor argument and then voting for an inactive player instead made you look too non-committal. Jarl Name-Loser (jluck): Corrupted - voted out, Day Two Night Action: You are the scum killer. Each night, you may kill one player Comments: I think you did pretty well, but just slipped up by suggesting that Patrekr was the scum kill. It all sort of spiraled out of control from there. I think you were a little too hesitant to accuse Hinckley though. While doing so would have risked getting you into an argument with a very active player, I think it would've helped your case to show that you were working to find scum, and your admission that you feared retaliation from Hinckley made you look like you had something to hide. A true townie shouldn't be afraid to voice their suspicions. It was a smart idea to call for the traitor and create the separate writeboards though, that was a very inventive way to work who was the real traitor and who was stinging you. It's just unlucky the real traitor wasn't around to see your closing posts! The scum should have perhaps considered the possibility that the traitor didn't share your timezone, and kept tabs on when everyone was online and if they would have been around at the end of Day Two. Dagstyrr the Fool (Darkdragon): Loyal - murdered, Night Two Night Action: None. You are a miller. You will appear as scum when investigated. Comments: It's hard for me to give you much feedback, since you were so inactive on the first days. You probably could have talked your way out of a lynch though. If it weren't for that writeboard post, you probably would have been tracked doing nothing, and would have lasted pretty long. You probably would have made for a good voice of reason during the later days too, so it's unfortunate you were killed so early. Someone has said this already, but it can be a good idea to claim miller on day one. That way, you can save the investigator from wasting a night on you, and it looks better to claim before you're under pressure. Scum are less likely to claim the role on day one as it locks them into a story early on and makes it risky for them to use a night action afterwards. Mist (Mencot): Corrupted - voted out, Day Three Alignment: Corrupted- you have started to suffer from amnesia, and cannot remember who your allies are. As the game progresses, you will need to find your teammates and reunite with them. Night Action: None. Comments: You had a tough role to play, being completely in the dark, unable to tell friend from foe. It didn't help that your teammates were trying to frame you the whole time either! You might have had an easier time of things if you were in the same timezone as the rest of the scum, as you probably would have been able to convince them you were the real traitor had you been given a writeboard. Not that that would have helped much though - you probably would have been blocked anyway, then been lynched under the assumption you were a blocked killer. Overall, a very unlucky game for you. Lodmund the Dwarf (Lord Duvors): Loyal - voted out, Day Four Night Action: None Comments: You did a good job pretending to be the traitor. You were probably the most believable of the townies who contacted jluck and you had the scum fooled for a while. Unfortunately, the town got fooled too, and you got screwed over when your writeboard got deleted. At that point, there wasn't much you could do to stop a lynch, but you did pretty well to defend yourself all the same. Dar (Dragonfire): Corrupted - voted out, Day Five Night Action: You are the redirector. Each night, you may direct one player to target another player of your choice. Comments: You posting that deleted comment as "dd" was one of the highlights of the game for me. It was subtle enough to be believable, but blatant enough to be noticed and to sow suspicion. It was funny to see the night actions change after that post, from the town block tracking Darkdragon to killing her. Unfortunately, you fell into the same trap as jluck, speculating a little too accurately about what the scum must've been doing behind the scenes. Danr the Dragon-Slayer (Dannylonglegs): Loyal - murdered, Night Four Night Action: You are an investigator. Each night, you may target one player in order to discover their alignment. Comments: You investigated the right people and did well to help set up a fairly trustworthy town block. You stayed in the middle-ground, which is a pretty good place to be as the cop - not appearing too close to the town block, but not appearing unhelpful enough to warrant much suspicion from vanillas and others. Unfortunately, that position seemed to draw the attention of the SK. Ragnvald the Troll (Ranger of the Forest): Loyal - voted out, Day Six Night Action: None Comments: You played well for your first game. You were only voted out because you were blocked on a kill-less night, and you were unable to turn it around because you didn't have an important role to claim. Unfortunately, sometimes there's nothing you can do to stop a lynch. This kind of thing has happened to just about every player at some point, so it's nothing to be discouraged by. Unsubstantiated and inescapable lynches are just a part of mafia. Tarr Egg-Chaser (Tariq j): Loyal - voted out, Day Seven Night Action: You are a vengeful spirit. If you are lynched, you will gain the ability to kill one other player as you die. Comments: I'm still not entirely sure why you were voted out, since many of the actions of the caught scum suggested you weren't working with them. I get the impression you were voted out because you were the vengeful spirit more than anything, and the town at that point were just trying to kill anyone unconfirmed in the quickest way possible. I would have liked to see you a little more active, but you played well given that this was your first game, and a rather complicated one at that. Petr Half-Troll (Piratedave84): Corrupted - voted out, Day Eight Night Action: You are the godfather. When investigated, you will appear as Loyal. In addition, you have a one-shot conversion ability, which will allow you to convert a vanilla player onto the Corruptedside. This ability may NOT be used on the same night as a kill. Comments: You seemed to do well at playing the clueless vanilla townie, and did well to last so long. You did the right thing to hold onto the conversion night action, but you were just unlucky that there were so few vanillas remaining at that point. Using the kill wouldn't have got you too far, as there were already too many people in the town block for you to last too long by yourself. Toki (TrumpetKing): Corrupted - voted out, Day Nine Night Action: None (Became the killer after being converted) Comments: You got the short end of the stick, spending most of the game under suspicion as a townie before finally being converted in the scum's final hours. I feel like you might have had a better chance of winning had you voted against Hinckley instead of Piratedave on Day Eight. I can't help but wonder what you would have done in that situation if you were still a townie, since you told me you were suspicious of Hinckley for keeping you around as a scapegoat a couple of times before you were converted. If you're ever converted, I would suggest not to let it affect your game at all, and to remain as consistent as possible. Petrus Fire-Starter (Pandora): Neutral - voted out, Day Eleven Alignment: Neutral - you are death personified, and will not rest until everyone around you perishes. You will win the game when you equal or outnumber each opposing side. Night Action: You are a shapeshifting killer. Each night, you may kill one player. In addition, should you kill someone with a night action, you will gain a one-shot use of their power on the following night. Comments: You were given a couple of strokes of luck this game, but you lasted so long mainly because of your skill as a player. You really made the most of whatever hand you were dealt, but unfortunately, it just wasn't enough to get you over the finishing line. As I said, if the scum had gotten just one more kill, you probably could have won the game. I'm sorry you missed out on the win, but thanks for making the game so interesting! Pudding-Head (Hinckley): Loyal - survived! Night Action: You are a tracker. Each night, you may target one player. You will be able to see who they target that night. Comments: Good job! I'm pretty sure you managed to guess all of the mechanics at play in this game. Well, I'm assuming you did, given the amount of theories you pumped out over those final days. The only real misstep you made was getting tunnel-vision on CMP after he tried to lead a lynch on youI guess him targeting Trumpetking might have looked a little weird though). I feel like you could do with being unjustly lynched one game just to desensitise you to it. You went after people in this game for weirder reasons than CMP's case against you after all. All in all, I'm glad you managed to survive - both in the game and in real life. Agnar Skull-Smasher (Adam): Loyal - survived! Night Action: You are the bomb. If you are killed at night, you will take your killer down with you. Comments: You had a really solid game. Good initiative pretending to be the traitor and generally making yourself look like a PR and thus a target for the scum. On Night Two the scum came dangerously close to killing you, which would have been disastrous for them (reducing them to one player by the end of Day 4). You seemed to keep a level head throughout the game, and were a good voice of reason for the town to have in the later days. There was a lot of pressure on you on Day Eleven. It was a cool moment when you revealed you lurking for the first half of the day just to see how the argument would play out. Good job choosing the most logical conclusion on Day Eleven and voting for Pandora. -
