  3. Day Four: Never Get Out of the Boat It was night time, and Mist (Mencot)'s still lay motionless on the deck. The crew had learned that she had been Corrupted by the terrors of Ragnarok. Elsewhere, Pudding-Head (Hinckley was kissing Pernilla goodnight. "Goodbye piggy," said Pudding-Head, climbing the hull, "Pudding-Head is going for a swim or something." Meanwhile, Tarben the Wise (Tamamono) was having trouble sleeping. "Tonight is my night," Tarben groaned, "I'm getting up tonight." Using a nearby battleaxe to support himself, he lifted himself up! "I'm going to get me some chicken," he said. When the axe-wielding killer came to see Tarben, he was nowhere to be found. The figure looked around, puzzled. "Looking for someone?" a voice came from behind the figure. It was Tarben! Unfortunately, Tarben had spent all of his energy, and was unable to lift his great axe in time... Later that night, Munud the Strange (mostlytechnic) was roaming the deck, searching for his lost potion. "Ah! There it is! The missing chemical that turns water into mead! I have done it, mein Emperor!" Had the shadowy figure behind him overheard Munud's babbling, he may have been hesitant to kill him. Unfortunately, the figure didn't overhear him, and so he cleaved Munud in half. "Heh! You fool! Weren't you paying attention yesterday? Those aren't my real legs! I can survive without them! Heheheh..." Munud still couldn't survive underwater, however. He was Loyal. Tarben the Wise was also Loyal, unable to withstand his shadowy rival. The sun rose again, and the einherjar continued their journey to Valhalla. The snow was beginning to die down. "Our supplies are running short!" Tarr Egg-Chaser (Tariq j) complained, "I cannot cook with these shoddy ingredients! Bork de bork!" "We will have to make do with what we have," Kára replied, "it is too dangerous to go foraging in these parts." Nevertheless, whilst the ship was resting, Tarr left in search of more food. "I think I see something!" Tarr shouted to the others. It was Pudding-Head (Hinckley), having returned from swimming or something. "Chickens!" said Pudding-Head, presenting his find. The two heard a rumbling coming from behind the bushes. "What was that?" asked Tarr. "GIANTS!" "Never get out of the boat," the two wanderers muttered, "Never get out of the boat..." Another day came to a close and the crew of survivors had again decided to execute one of their own. Mist (Mencot) stepped forward to face her fate. "Do you have anything to say in your defense?" someone asked. "Yes," Mist replied, "I'm scum." "Oh, well that was easy," someone said. "Why did you do it, Mist?" another warrior asked, "You were once a brave valkyrie, and a vigilant defender of Valhalla. What has Ragnarok done to you?" "I can't remember," said Mist, "My memory is foggy. Or Mist-y. Or something." With that, Mist put herself on the chopping block, ready for the axe that awaited her. Kára's axe swung straight and true, cutting Mist's head clean off. "Such is the fate of all who would try to hinder this quest," Kára said, "Now keep rowing." It is now night-time. You have 24 hours to send in your night actions.

  9. Day Three: Waiting for the Summer Rain Night descended on the longship. With it came news of Jarl Name-Loser's (jluck) allegiance. As suspected, he had been Corrupted. On deck sat Dagstyrr the Fool (Darkdragon), trying to come up with an idea for his next performance. Unfortunately, he didn't notice the axe-wielding figure creeping up behind him. "Time to take out the trash!" the figure shouted, swinging their axe at Dagstyrr's head. "What?" asked Dagstyrr, clearly startled, "What are you talking ab-" Dagstyrr was cut off. Literally. The killer faded into the night, leaving Dagstyrr decapitated on the deck. He was Loyal. Meanwhile, Pudding-Head (Hinckley) was wandering the ship. Hearing a strange noise in the distance, Pudding-Head rushed to the side of the ship to see where it was coming from. Pudding-Head let out a gasp, not expecting to find... ... long-lost friend Pernilla the Pig floating among the ice! Using a pair of nearby oars, Pudding-Head scooped Pernilla up. I have travelled to the end of the world and back to find you, master said Pernilla, probably. Something along those lines. Across the ship, Jafri (Jackjonespaw) appeared to be getting ready to get to sleep. He seemed very pleased about it. That's all. Petrus Fire-Starter (Pandora) was walking around, admiring his flame-thrower. He was so engrossed in it, he wouldn't have noticed if an axe-wielding killer was behind him... ... Fortunately for him, no one was behind him. Morning came, and the einherjar were shocked to find the corpse of Dagstyrr the Loyal Fool. Aside from Dagstyrr however, everyone else was still standing... ... Except for Tarben the Wise (Tamamono). But that's because he can't stand... ... And Munud the Strange (mostlytechnic), who appeared to have been cut in half during the night... ... But it only appeared that way. Soon, Munud got up and screwed his peglegs back on. "I always take my legs off when I sleep," Munud assured the others, "I can still walk, mein Emperor!" With everyone accounted for and the ice in the river finally melted, the warriors set sail and began to row to Valhalla. 11. The day drew to a close, and though the einherjar had acquired a longboat, the ice had not yet thawed enough for them to make any progress. They had made progress on the lynching front however. The clear consensus was that Jarl Name-Loser (jluck) had been corrupted. "Time for you to face justice, scumbag!" an einherjar yelled. "That's right! Show yourself, Jarl Name-Loser. If that is your real name!" shouted another warrior. Jarl emerged from his barrel, though he didn't quite look himself. "It seems the majority of you have decided to execute me today. Though I disagree, I respect your decision. I will not fight this lynch like Brand did. I will go out with my dignity in tact." "My fellow einherjar, I offer myself up to you. Do with me as you must." Jarl dropped to the ground, kneeling before the hesitant group of warriors. "What a guy!" one of the einherjar said with admiration. Suddenly, the real Jarl Name-Loser popped out of the barrel, "Hah! The joke is on you! That was just a decoy! Bwahahaha!" "Aahahaha! You'll never catch me!" Jarl laughed as he jumped overboard. "Should we go after him?" one warrior asked. "No," Kára replied, "it's too dangerous. His fate is now in the hands of the gods..." Suddenly, the ice began to crack and swallowed up the old trickster. Soon, Jarl was no more. The ice continued to melt, until finally, the ship was free to move. "We thank you for your blessing, mighty Odin!" Kára proclaimed. I aim to please, said Odin, whose spirit finally left the world. It is night. You have 22 hours to send in your night actions.

  17. Day Two: All the Children are Insane After being cut loose by Herburt Marred-Eye, the surviving einherjar spent the night braving the harsh winter outside. Morning arrived and all woke up, ready for the long march that awaited them. It wasn't a good start to the day. It was discovered that Brand (Brickelodeon), whom the warriors had convicted yesterday, was a Loyal follower. "Come, my warriors," said Kára, "a bitter journey awaits us, but we march nonetheless. Our only hope is that we reach the river before the frost takes us all. There, we will find the longboat Herburt promised us." And so, the motley group of warriors embarked on their journey across the wintry wasteland that was now Asgard. The road was treacherous and the cold biting, and the warriors attempted to stick together... ... Unfortunately, the fog began to set in and Patrekr the Red (Palathadric) found himself lost. "Hello?" he called out, "is anyone out there?" Through the fog Patrekr began to make out a silhouette. "Wary?" Patrekr shouted, "is that you my old rival? You're certainly black enough. Come here, it's time to settle this grudge once and for all!" Patrekr's eyesight wasn't what it once was, and before he knew it the figure had lunged forward, bringing their great axe down onto his head. With that, Patrekr was finished. With his dying breath, he gasped, "tell my son I'm sorry... but also, tell him... I'm still more badass than him... ughh..." As he had always been, Patrekr was a Loyal einherjar. Across the mist, Lambi (TheLazyChicken) had also strayed from the group. She might have been lost forever, were it not for another shadowy figure. "I can't believe I'm going to kill a little girl today," sighed the axe-wielder as they crept up on Lambi. "Bleurgh!" Lambi yelled as she quickly turned around, catching her killer by surprise. Fortunately for the figure, they had fast reflexes and swung their axe at the young warrior. "That was weird," the killer said, leaving their target for dead. Lambi had been Corrupted. Meanwhile, the main party had escaped the snow storm and had stumbled upon a wonderous sight. "Odin!..." Kára gasped. Vidarr nodded solemnly. There lay Odin's remains, slain by the great wolf Fenrir. Where he lay, no flake of snow dared fall, and all around him plants began to grow anew. The last of the fog lifted, and the warriors looked out before them. "A blessing from Odin!" one warrior cried. "The gods have made their will known," announced Kára, "we sail to Valhalla!" 19. A Day One conclusion has been posted. Remember, there are no clues within the pictures, it's all there for fun. You have 24 hours to send in your night actions.
  20. The day drew to a close, and the survivors of Ragnarok had decided that Brand (Brickelodeon) would not be joining them on their boat-ride to Valhalla. "Any last words?" asked Herburt Marred-Eye. "I abandoned my kin to study your ways. You showed me kindness and compassion. You accepted me as one of your own. You let me eat and drink and fight with you. But now, you cast me aside at the first opportunity. You penalise me for revealing private conversations. You vote for me for saying odd things. Over the course of this day, you have all helped me to come to a conclusion about humankind..." "... You are a boring race." With that, Brand drew his sword and embraced his jotunn heritage. Soon, the hall was engulfed in flames as Brand unleashed the chaos and destruction he had repressed for so long. "Vote me out, will you?! I'll show you how to vote someone out! HA HA HA HA!" "You know what? We can probably squeeze an extra passenger onto that longship..." Herburt Marred-Eye conceded as he watched his family hall go up in flames. "I didn't sign up for this," Lifthrasir sighed, "come on Lif, let's just stay in the woods until this all blows over." And with that, Lif and Lifthrasir left. Amidst Brand's fury, Kára regained her composure. "Water!" she shouted, "use the water! Pour the barrels on him!" Rallied by Kára's cries, the warriors of the hall proceeded to gather the barrels of water and splash them on an angry Brand. The rest of the einherjar then began to attack him with their plethora of weapons. "Arrgh!" cried Brand, "water and sharp objects! My only two weaknesses!" "We're running out of water!" someone yelled, "are there any barrels left?" "Uhh... nope," said Petr and Toki, trying their best to conceal a fine keg of mead. Mederic One-Day-Away-From-Retirement ran outside to escape the fiery hall. "You fools!" he said, "this was the last sanctuary left in this world. You have ruined us! We are doomed!" Mederic was not alone in the snow. Another warrior had followed him outside. "Traitors!" Mederic gasped. He had no time to stop his attacker, who swung their axe straight at his face... ... Leaving him dead in the snow. Meanwhile, the fight within the hall sounded like it was coming to a close. His energy depleted, Brand went out in one last explosion of fire. Extinguished and broken, Brand stumbled out of the hall... ... And collapsed, defeated. Once the fires in the hall were taken care of, the rest of the warriors gathered outside to find two dead bodies. "Mederic's death could have only come at the hands of traitors," Kára announced, "I fear that some of us have been corrupted, driven insane by the horrors of Ragnarok. Our journey will be more treacherous than I thought..." Herburt called out from behind the door, "you are on your own now, valkyrie. Your warriors have ruined my provisions. We can no longer spare you the supplies or provide you the shelter. You will need to make it to Valhalla by yourselves now." It is now night. Please send in your night actions within the next 24 hours.
