Any chance of Lord of the rings sets coming back?
MagPiesRUs replied to stella2015's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think the best chance of seeing a new Lord of the Rings set would be in a potential third wave of LEGO Batman Movie sets. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion
MagPiesRUs replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nice series. Every figure is solid, there aren't really any stinkers, but only the retro spaceman is a "must have" for me. I love that ray gun! I like the Warhammer-esque dwarf, but when I heard "Battle Dwarf" I was kind of hoping he'd be a more armoured figure who could stand in as one of Dain Ironfoot's soldiers. I saw someone compare the mustached Corn Suit Guy to Borat in his bathing suit, and now I can't unsee it...- 1,421 replies

The Second Crash - Day 4
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why not vote for the people you're suspicious of? Or at least build a case against them? There's still plenty of time left in the day, you don't need to settle for lynching someone you're not confident is scum. For now, I think I'll follow Woodcock's lead and Vote: Lusk Eccleston (fhomess) -

I don't think I'd realised before that Anthony directly PMed Woodcock and Julia about their votes. Assuming they responded to his accusations via PM, I wonder if Woodcock and Julia could provide evidence of their conversation for us? -

I agree with Foorth's analysis, it seems likely that either Quincy or Ewan are scum. It's odd that Duke decided to claim tracker. Normally I would assume that this means the scum have a tracker, but the fact his result was wrong seems to suggest he inexplicably made up the whole thing. We know Anthony claimed vanilla, I wonder if any other scum would take as big a risk as Duke and claim a PR. -
The Second Crash - Day 3
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Shit, time really flies when you're making the perfect smorgasbord. I guess we should probably lynch someone before the sun goes down. While I stopped by earlier, I noticed Foorth, Woodcock and Julia all popped in and said nothing. I would have expected all of you should have shown some leadership and urgency, but it looks like you're waiting for someone else to come up with a case. I know Molly said earlier today she may have caught another scum, but surely we can do something more productive than sitting around waiting for that? Although all three of you are pretty high on my list of scum, I think Julia just leads by a nose - for defending Anthony, having no confidence in her vote for Perce, ignoring Molly's roleclaim and just generally being pretty scummy. Vote: Julia Jones (CallMePie) -

Now that we know Anthony was scum, it might be worth looking back over how everyone reacted to his prodding of Elijah at the start of Day One. I'm not really getting any town-reads based on the reactions (with the possible exceptions of Delwyn and Molly, who voted for Anthony early but who are both pretty much confirmed town at this point. Mike too, whose posting of Anthony's PM at the start of Day 2 would have been inexplicable had both of them been scum). Here are a few people who were lightly defending Anthony when he came under fire though: Do you mean 'in all seriousness' in a completely non-serious way, or 'in all seriousness' as in you're taking Anthony seriously but not Elijah? Surely you can't be serious? I'm content to let people yammer on, for now, because it's day one and I'm watching for slip-ups too. But this just seems like a weird place to start for such an experience player. It's probably worth noting that Anthony later sent PMs to a number of people saying that Julia and Woodcock's reluctant votes for Perce were suspicious. However, I wouldn't put it past him to lump suspicion on a teammate. It is highly unlikely he would do this to two teammates though. A pretty straightforward defense of Anthony here. Possibly too blatant to be a teammate, though it's interesting that his vote here ended up tying the votes between Delwyn and Anthony at two a piece. Seems as if Ray may be trying to give Anthony an opportunity to clarify his intentions here so as to deflate a situation that had begun to turn against him. -

vote : Anthony (jluck) But what's sinister about questioning someone else's ping? -
The Second Crash - Day 2
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The problem here is that you're still operating under the assumption that everyone you'd already claimed to are all definitely town, and that the scum didn't know about your role until Elijah revealed it publicly. I don't know why you are so confident that Elijah and Anthony are town, when neither have done anything especially townie. I'd hope you would have a feeling you're both town, considering you claimed to him on night one. -

MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Wait, how many other people did you send that message to? Did you tell them all that you're a vanilla townie? Why did you seem so apprehensive about claiming to Molly when you had already claimed to people you have far less of a reason to trust? -

I just don't understand why you found this sinister. Do you still think it's sinister? Why? Foorth also agreed it was sinister, so maybe I'm just missing something here. Foorth, can you explain why it was sinister? -
The Second Crash - Day 2
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, I had a feeling she might flip town. More likely than Perce. Besides, at the time I began posting Perce was leading the lynch with 5 votes, as opposed to Molly who had 3 votes. I find myself agreeing with Anthony that Julia's and Woodcock's very apprehensive votes for Perce look a little weird. It kind of bothers me that Julia was so dead-set on lynching Molly that she missed the part where she roleclaimed. I know that as scum, it's often tempting to skip over posts when you've already committed yourself to an action and you already know everyone's affiliation. It's only the town that actually need to read and analyse what everyone else has said. Woodcock's vote also has me a little confused: Maybe it's the month-old brunost I just ate, but I can't make much sense out of this vote. Can you clarify why you find Ray to be suspicious? -
The Second Crash - Day 2
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
A no-lynch can benefit the town too. A last-minute bandwagon is never likely to yield a scum, and since it only affords the accused with a short window of opportunity to defend themselves, there's a good chance it could get a PR killed too. Case in point: Molly. If she hadn't been around during those last couple of hours, we would've likely ended up killing our blocker. Exchanging a potential PR for (pretty useless) "information" isn't really a deal I feel benefits the town. What are you suggesting here? The only two people in risk of being lynched at the end of the day were Perce (now confirmed town) and Molly (probably town). Are you suggesting I deliberately left my vote on Perce to ensure a no-lynch? Does a no-lynch actually benefit the scum if the two top candidates are town? Especially in this game of life, where we essentially get two opportunities to lynch before anyone is in danger of being night-killed. Yesterday was almost a free day for us all in that regard, a Day Zero. -

No, you don't have to be scum to get a town-read on someone. I've worked alongside Molly plenty of times, both as town and scum, and I'd like to think I can get a decent read on her. -

Just to clarify, do you think we're better off lynching someone who's claimed blocker than either not voting or voting for someone who has claimed to have no action?
