The Second Crash - Day 1

Actually, Perce was the leading candidate up until you just switched your vote onto someone you're not convinced is scum. -
The Second Crash - Day 1
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm still ok with my vote on Perce. Since we've left this to the last minute, it helps that he has pretty much already roleclaimed, so we know we won't be losing anyone important if he is a townie. Personally, I wouldn't mind a no-lynch today, but if others feel strongly about it I wouldn't be opposed to voting for Delwyn or Mike, who are the other two scummiest players to me. I'm leaning towards a town-read on Molly, myself. -
The Second Crash - Day 1
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why Dr. Wynn? Did you just pull his name out of a hat? How does this benefit anyone? If you're going to make a random day one vote, at least pretend there's a reason behind it. By saying upfront that your vote is random, you're immediately undermining your vote and giving Dr. Wynn no reason to take it seriously. You seem a little too eager to reveal that. For now, I will Vote: Perce Triggs (Tachyon) -
The Second Crash - Day 1

Wow, you're on a roll, Anthony! At this rate, we'll catch these sleeper agents in no time! Care for some lutefisk? I made it from fresh tuna cans. On another note, I'm not bold enough to claim to be the towniest person here, but I can guarantee to you all now that as far as towniness goes, I'm definitely in the top 5. -
The Second Crash - Confirmation and Discussion
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hi, I'm Lage Skjeggestad, but you can call me Dink. I know we just survived a fiery plane crash, but does anyone want some lutefisk? I made it myself while we were hurtling uncontrollably towards the mountainside. I suspect my name must be a reference to fellow rad dwarf Peter Dinklage. -
The Second Crash - Sign Ups
MagPiesRUs replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
1.) Have you played in a Mafia game before? If not, do you get how it works? I think I get it. 2.) Will you be pretty free to play for however long this plays out (excluding the week of the 22nd, of course)? Kind of free. I might not be able to be as active as I'd like to, but I should have time to check in every (real) day. 3.) Rate, from 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest, how upset will you be with me if I don't get these pictures and days out on a totally prompt schedule (these pictures take a long time to edit)? 4 4.) If, in case you get angry, take it out on Danny, yea? Sure 5.) If you were in a plane crash, what magical destination (like in Lost) would you prefer it crash on? Disneyland. 6.) Is Scotland, or is it not, the most peaceful and beautiful place in the entire world? It's probably in the top 50. The presentation looks pretty great! Those parchment pages remind me of Age of Empires 2. -
I've always liked the parallels between jedi and samurai, so here are a couple of samurai-influenced Star Wars shots: A Warrior's Death by MagPiesRUs, on Flickr This shot is based on a scene from Seven Samurai. Looking forward to it! That poster was probably just a wee bit premature. The game is still in the early stages of development, and likely won't be ready until next year. -

General Discussion and Announcements
MagPiesRUs replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Today seems like an appropriate day to announce this: Coming at some point in time... -
Thanks! For the first picture, I stuck a red lightbrick inside the First Order Transport (I'm happy it ended up producing some Abrams-esque lens flare!) and shone a white light through the roof. Then I used a standard lamp to light up Finn's face. The second picture just uses a single lamp with an orange-y filter over it.

I'm loving that book piece! Being able to swap out the tiles inside it is a great little touch. The rest doesn't interest me much, but it looks like it's got some potential. I imagine they'll throw us castle fans a bone at some point - even Ninjago put out some good Japanese temples in later waves, as well as a beautiful D2C set. Given that the generic good guys appear to have Black Falcon heraldry, I'm holding out hope that we eventually get a set with some less futuristic Falcon knights and castles.

Blacktron Mafia: Conclusion, Tranquility
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hmmm. Good thing you weren't the godfather then, otherwise the town would have really been screwed. I'm not actually sure why people were implying me or CMP had to be responsible for Lady K's death. I don't think the scum would ever kill someone just because they received a small part of a code. Speaking of the code, I was right that Hinckley was the one who killed Tariq! Even though Lady K never told him her code... I admit to glossing over most of those code posts too.- 155 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Conclusion, Tranquility
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Take me out to the Black, Tell them I ain't coming back. Thanks for the great game Danny and JJP, it was a lot of fun! I loved the presentation, characters and storyline! I'm almost sad the game ended so quickly. I say almost because I have a feeling we would have lost if it went on any longer. The townies were pretty much all verified at the end there, and it probably would have just been a process of eliminating the remaining unconfirmed claims. Scumbuddies, thanks for being a great team! SirStig and mediumsnowman, you both did great for your first games! I think Stig made it pretty clear that Tariq was the tracker when he let slip that the tracker contacted him after Stig accused him in public. I was a little afraid of pointing that out though, just in case people thought I was the kiler. Yeah, I feel like I might have botched my replies when Dragonfire told me I was investigated. I was probably a little too trusting of the claim. Oh, does that mean you really were bulletproof? I thought Dragonfire was the protector, based on how much the cop seemed to trust him and how heavily involved he was in the town block. So he was really just a vanilla?- 155 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why would being wrong about Rip nullify all of your other suspicions? That's a bit of a cop-out. Are you no longer suspicious of Minga then? It seems odd that, after going after Minga so strongly yesterday, Rip turning up as town would make you suspect her less. After all, she recommended yesterday that we either lynch Rip (confirmed town) or you (who you're supposed to be arguing is a townie too). Are you accusing Hannah of being scum here, or a mistaken townie? At first you seem to be finding her behaviour worrying, but by the end it looks like you're implying she just has tunnel vision. Wait, you'll be 'revealed as town', you say? Oh, in that case I retract my earlier comments. Wouldn't you have had a better chance of being let in to the town block by actually contributing to it instead of trying to search them out independently? I don't think you've explained why Bock would have been a good scum kill yet either. Didn't you initially vote for him yesterday?- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Vote: Diamond Dodd (CallMePie) Oh, is that what it refers to? I'm no good with acronyms. Well, your post about Bob wanting the other cop-result revealed felt more like a lecture than a suspicion. I also aired my main suspicion yesterday - 4 of 2. And the day before that, I aired my suspicions then too - Claw, Harriet, Paul. And the day before... What's a Ro87n? I'm leaning more on the town side with Zipzup. The code plan feels genuine to me, even if I still can't make total sense of it. I'm not suggesting you have to lead. But going in the opposite direction and refusing to vote or name suspects until the everyone has revealed theirs is just weird.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Lazy? I didn't miss any of your posts on Bock, I looked through all of them and you barely touched on him until today. Most of them just amount to you chucking him in a list with a couple of other people in a similar boat. Nothing incriminating there. Your revelation that Bock messaged you about the codes didn't strike me as accusatory. Your response to Bock's insistence that we reveal the other cleared townie didn't either, that felt more like an omgus. And I have been airing my main suspicion since the day started. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to clarify my other suspects though: Bock, obviously. He fished for information on the second cleared townie and tried to discredit the investigator in the process, plus the bandwagon against Rip that saved him yesterday contained all my top suspects. Harriet has been flying so far under the radar I almost forget about her. On the first day, she withheld her list of suspects because she was worried she'd be killed for "knowing too much". Then when pushed the next day, she revealed her suspicions, who all turned up to be nothing much more than gut feelings. Then there's Paul and 4 of 2, who would both be top of my list if it weren't for their claims. I think vig would be a harder role to fake than watcher, so of the two I would think Paul more likely to be scum. PR claims aside, Paul is also clearly the more suspicious, having repeatedly admitted to doing scummy things, from sheeping the vote on day one to his behaviour throughout day two. I wasn't suggesting you do that at all, I was hoping more for the opposite. It just seems like a really good place for you to sit, waiting for everyone else to make their decision before you commit to anything. That way, you avoid the blame should a lynch go wrong. I know it might be a little unfair to expect you to play the same way every time - you should be free to change your playstyle if you want - but just the way you have explained your strategy just strikes me as scummy.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Diamond, we were going to get off this dump and see the stars! I trusted you. We even shared clothes! Why did you have to get caught up with those scummy scummy Blacktrons? Funny that of the two people who are scummiest at the moment, Diamond and Bock, you've barely touched on either of them the entire game. This request really worries me. It assumes that all of the PR claims are true, but if the town block is wrong about even one claimed PR, this plan could all turn into yī dà tuó dà biàn. The scum would go after the PRs capable of verifying any PR claims first. Then if we continued to go after those who hadn't claimed, one mislynch plus two townie deaths from the SK and scum could potentially lose us the game.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh, I guess I missed that. I was looking at the second time Zipzup explained who got what codes, I hadn't realised he had posted it before. Though it pinged me that Seamus said someone got the 1 and 17 codes, not Vasquez when this was public knowledge. But you kept saying you'd hold off on voting until the end so that you didn't influence anyone and implied you could vote for either candidate, yet you repeatedly said that Rip was a better lynch anyway. I'm aware that you never said Bock was town though, that would be a silly thing to say about someone unconfirmed, and an even sillier thing to say if you were teammates. Your piece of info is pretty much useless anyway though. If the scum got to the two correct numbers (3 and 19), they would have been able to guess which one was the tracker since Clem had already claimed a different role. I never said you were responsible for Vazquez's death, I said you were responsible for Laura the tracker's death. I think all of this is telling me I need to get some sleep. I'll be in my bunk.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Clem explicitly stated that the vig was one of the PRs he could inherit, and we know the vig couldn't have died until night 2. I feel like the backup should be able to pick which night action to inherit if two viable PRs die on the same night, as otherwise I feel like the role would be too swing-y. I'm not sure why Clem doesn't want to reveal what would theoretically happen in such a scenario though - I can't think of a way it would put us at a disadvantage if that was made public. If anything, it would help to address any doubts we have about 4 of 2's vig-claim. You vote last under the assertion that we're all too sheep-ish to formulate our own opinions. That's a good place to sit, especially after a couple of suggestions that you lead the last two lynches on townies Wen and Claw. I'm not sure I'd agree with that personally, but it had been brought up. Even though you want to withhold your vote to avoid influencing anyone else, you still make it pretty clear that you'd prefer to lynch Rip: You claim that you would have hammered Bock too if he were in the same position as Rip, but looking back over your posts, you've barely talked about Bock at all. Only a couple of times you have mentioned him flying under the radar, and usually you accompany his name with a few others who are in a similar boat to him. Over the course of the game, this is probably the strongest you have spoken out against him: So you suspect him but can't remember why. But wait, there's something else too... When 4 of 2 revealed he killed Dave, I was surprised as I had him pegged as the scum-kill. Now I can't help but wonder if the scum managed to find out Laura was the tracker and kill her... Here are the codes Zipzup sent out: So if Bock and Seamus are both scum, they'd have these clues: +2 Confirmation page, order of signing in posts That wouldn't quite be enough to work out the tracker. But there's more: So apparently Vasquez told Seamus her code before she died! I don't believe Seamus ever told us that. With those 3 pieces of information, the scum know that the two people Zipzup named were Clem and Laura. Obviously Clem had already claimed backup, so that means that all signs point to Laura being the tracker... ... And she winds up dead the next day.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
MagPiesRUs replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I can't find any information on it, but I would assume that a universal backup would be given a choice of night actions should more than one PR die that night. How would it work otherwise? A random assignment? Or the first kill to be sent in? Clem, could you clarify this for us?- 194 replies
