Good idea Ingrid, let's go. *Once we're safe in between the spears, I'd like to try throwing one of Stanton's bones at the demon.*

I've experimented with this quite a bit. Most of these have already been mentioned, but here's a picture of some Middle-Eastern headgear ideas: (From left to right) tire, turban, skull twin helmet (reversed - just don't look at him from behind...), bandana, AT-ST pilot headgear (should look better now in light grey), turban... I also find that a standard helmet makes a nice turban. Just reverse it and raise it just above the head.

CONTEST: Whack-a-Fig II - Voting!
MagPiesRUs replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Great entries everyone, it's a shame I didn't get around to making one myself. #1: Sir Dillon - Simple but effective, my favourite type of whacking. I like the witch hat too. #2: Oky Wan Kenobi - Well built and a very cool idea. Great job. ... And a close 3rd, fallentomato - Great chandelier! I always get a chuckle out that sigfig of yours. -
Dystopia - Confirmation and Discussion

Thanks guys. I'm Mike Collinham, you've already met my two sons Pryce and Zane. Together we're taking a holiday to Japan. -
Nice find Macoco! I believe TLC used to hire Spite Your Face Productions to make their lego films. The two items they're selling can be seen in their video "Monty Python and the Holy Grail in Lego": From http://www.spiteyourface.com FAQ: Anyway, I quite like the helmet. A little large in comparison to other headgear, but I think I'd still prefer it over the new Kingdoms great helm.

Haha! Very cool, I'll have to try that when the sets arrive here. Thanks for sharing. How would an ostrich head look on a skeleton body?

Thanks everyone. No lego this year, but I did manage to buy a fairly cheap Eldorado Fortress the day before. Thanks again.

Ooh, that looks fantastic! You've captured the Middle-Eastern look perfectly. Great use of those lovely new arch pieces. The tiers of arches running along the entranceway look stunning. I love those cool domed towers at the top too. They almost make the building look like an old Arabic 10197 Fire Brigade. Great job Svelte.

Imperial Soldier's Mafia: Conclusion
MagPiesRUs replied to Scouty's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks for the conclusion ImperialScouts, this game was a lot of fun. I had most of the scum figured out by the end (apart from Rick, well played mate). It's a shame so many of the loyalists were inactive though, we may have been able to turn things around if we'd managed to take out Dragonator on Day 4. Here's my role if anyone's interested: Tom Perot Investigator You are a thirty nine soldier who enlisted in the 42nd Regiment at the beginning of the war. You are proud to fight for your country. You have a small family, a wife and two children, at your farm house in the country side. You enjoy receiving letters from home and take the time to reply. Despite the losing war, letters from home and your fellow comrades around you fill you with honor and lead you to remain loyal. After hearing that other soldiers were considering desertion, you meet with close friends who you know to be loyal. It was a unanimous vote, with your experience in fighting in your third war, that you would make a good Investigator. You can investigate anyone you want and have a 50/50 chance to discover their identity or their night action (your choice). The survival of the army is in part up to you! You are an Honored. Thanks again, IS. Great work to the scum too, well played. Looks like us townies really need to get our act together, this is the third time in a row we've had our megabloks kicked. -

I don't know, from what I can see the apparition is wearing a top hat.

You could be right. But if that's the case, why would he be running away from his "accomplices"?
-
Hmm... Maybe a few of us should climb over the wall again and try to save Stanton from the menacing cloaked figures?

Computer Game - Napoleon: Total War
MagPiesRUs replied to Sir Wellington's topic in Culture & Multimedia
If anyone's interested, the N:TW demo came out a couple of weeks ago. I've just got around to playing it now. There's only a land tutorial and one historical land battle (no naval battles unfortunately), so there isn't much to do. The historical battle (The Battle of Ligny) is very fun though, the map is nice and spread out, but is still packed with plenty of details. The demo can be downloaded here. -
Thanks for the lovely review Clone O'Patra, this set looks superb. I love that palace building in particular, the colour scheme looks great on it. The minifigs too are top-notch, all of that printing is great. I'm not too sure about that camel yet though, it looks a little too tall for a minifig. If you don't mind, could you share with us a comparison pic of the camel with a horse (and maybe one of the camel without it's saddle too)? Thanks again for the review. Now I'll definitely have to pick this one up.

I don't know what to make of this. Outside the temple I saw Stanton, alive and well. Actually, I couldn't tell what it was, but there was certainly something strange about him. At that point he began to run away again. He was being chased by two dark hooded figures. All 3 of them then disappeared around the corner of the temple, so I couldn't make out anything else.

I'll climb through the break in the wall and see if there's anything worth noting behind there.

*Waves hello* Here I am dear. No, no philandering for me, I'll always be true. I've just been mulling things over in the corner over there. I'd like to try and pull off one of the teeth from the fallen wolf head. If that works, I'll attempt to stick it into the other wolf head that's still on the wall.

Imperial Soldier's Mafia: Day 5
MagPiesRUs replied to Scouty's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If you'd tell us how you know this I might be more inclined to believe you. I know what I saw - a blood-stained rag, a knife and a letter identifying him as a deserter. It's pretty hard for me to believe he's not scum after having seen that. -

Imperial Soldier's Mafia: Day 5
MagPiesRUs replied to Scouty's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yes. In many games... of life, an investigator is able to investigate himself in order to confirm whether he's sane or not. I don't think so. The scum don't have any way of knowing who I was investigating. The only person I told was the voice in the sky. The information hasn't led us anywhere because people like you have done nothing but fiddle with your sausages for the last two days. If we'd managed to get a majority vote, we would've learned something by now. -
Imperial Soldier's Mafia: Day 5
MagPiesRUs replied to Scouty's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
2 more of our good comrades taken from us? Those filthy swine. I can only hope we'll be able to vote off our murderer today. I attempted to investigate myself last night, but was told this wasn't possible. Instead I went for Pvt. Wilson Gale. As is to be expected, I was blocked last night as well. I did manage to get a better look at my blocker though. He has a shako. So the scum role blocker has faint epaulettes and a shako... Please elaborate. Three times already I've explained why I wasn't able to vote that day.
