Question: do people buy you LEGOs as gifts?
Brickmaster replied to Medievalego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Im thinking about giving my older brother a lego gift (he's in college now) But not a new storebought one. Im thinking about getting togeather his old black falcon fortress castle set, sorting all the bricks and repacking it, so maybe it will give him some good old memories from when he got it for x-mas all those years ago? :-$ Does anyone think thats a good idea, or no? -
Storing & Sorting Your Lego Pieces
Brickmaster replied to Mithrandir's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego sorting techniques; do you have any? Once, years ago just before my dark ages I had sorted all of my lego bricks by color - within afew months it was a mess again, but im going to give it another try. Albeit with all the random bins and messes, I dont think it will be an easy task, or a quick one. Before I get to far along, I'd like to ask the community; how do you sort your bricks? Is there any technique, or just some random bins with the whole mess - Yes, I do admit half the fun is digging through the mess to try and find that one peice - or an evenbetter one for the situation. But with a larger and larger amount, this task can get more frustrating than fun. So far I've just been doing it with corrisponding colors - but am wondering if I should condense this process further once I've completed this task; basically color and style of brick, like slopes, printed, etc. I literally have an entire story of this house for lego :-$ (the attic is considered a third story as its so large - so it's my area. Space and bins are not a large factor) As I sort through the random bins I also have decided its most efficient to sort out all of one color from the bin, then do another; seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips? Sorry if this topic has been created (None came up on the search for me) -
My Rant Against Anti-Lego Reviewers
Brickmaster replied to concreteasflesh's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Frankly I do agree with you somewhat, and in the first place brickset isnt a great site to find good reviews - half them arent even written by people that own the sets, and even some that have them the reviews are basically worthless. Its a great site but the people are lacking - though there are some true great reviewers that visit there - and I do appreciate that. -
Thanks for the review *wub* Definately confirmed me wanting this set, I shall get, such a great parts pack :-D And um, what are those black shoulderpads in the one picture showing off the sandy's helmet on another fig? Are they from that one hockey set? Or.. :-$
-
Benk's masterful construction of his mech deserves the win in my opinion *y*
-
I see no poll! :-$ Yargh, what be wrong here..
-
Is the efigy a totally new peice, or is it made of smaller peices with some gold hair attatched? Sorry if I missed this :-$ Nice review, just wish we had some more pics of the built set :-D
-
Very nice review - thanks ya. Looks like an interesting ship, but my only inquery is (sorry if I missed it) can it hold all 3 figs?
-
Bought General Greivous's ship for, then got the new imperial shuttle on sale for 37 bucks instead of 50, then got the mars mission base for 70 dollars instead of 90. Yay, sales!

Personally I have never had any trouble atall with my technic gears locking up or being too stiff, except for the gearbox on the huge red supercar. I didnt lube it or anything, however in theory graphite would work well, but I wouldnt use and kind of petrolium base as it would be very messy, and Ive heard about some lubricants weakening plastics. Graphite may seem the best option - but this is just an educated guess on my part. Goodluck ;-)

Welcome to EB Odie, always great to have a new knowledgeable member - and the given info is very usefull really, this could account for alot of the complaints heard. Given I am really not that picky with my bricks - as long as it is lego, I dont care if the lil lego logo is there or not quite frankly. I just dislike if something breaks or doesnt stick right.

Seems like im the only one who loves green and black, heh!

Frankly these are abit more than I would expect to pay :-$ 'fraid ill pass.

Well, lately, Ive been kindof on a moc spree. Rather large models at that - and its simply draining my supply of bricks, and now that thats happened, I am having utter hardship of destroying them for parts - I'm proud of them, and they're pretty! |-/ Not only am I wondering if there is a cure to this - but also if this happens to anyone else? Need the parts, but just cant break the mindset of keeping it togeather? Right now Im having those thoughts with my first moc, the dropship, so many nice parts on it I would like to use, yet I can barely think of scrapping it :'-( Ive taken pictures, and I know the thing inside out, yet, if its gone, its gone for good. Argh! *sing* Does anybody else go through this? :-( Sorry if topics like this arent allowed. Just wanted to share my thoughts, if it's bad, It wont happen again! :-$

Although the question is answered, I must say to any other readers dont be afraid to ask seemingly obvious questions, because thats just the thing; Theyre not so obvious at a first glance! I remember I once had to ask something along the lines too :-$

Brickshelf find: beetle and other slick vehicles
Brickmaster replied to natelite's topic in LEGO Town
Although Ive seen these models, and theyre beautiful ( *wub* ) I must digress about the lego VW comment, I really like what theyve come up with in a plethora of dark blue plates, and this is a model of the new beetle, I much much prefer the old style as with lego has gone :-$ -
Question: do people buy you LEGOs as gifts?
Brickmaster replied to Medievalego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My relatives would never buy me any sort of lego, albeit I usually just ask for money around xmas time anyways. If I asked for lego they would probably get me megablocks anyways :-$ My parents used to get me lego, but now that im older I choose out specifically what sets id like to get and go shopping with them, I just dont get them till xmas :-P Do my friends buy me any lego? Um.. What friends? :-D In all seriousness, no, my one best friend knows I love lego, but doesnt care, we just get eachother gag gifts on eachothers birthdays, like man thongs, ky warming lube, or golden toilet seats! X-D Gag gifts ON! -
*wub* Wow, I love this thing, especially those yellow leg armour peices, I love using those on spacecraft, I need this set. NEED :-$ Thanks for the review

What was the last movie you watched?
Brickmaster replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Quite frankly I cant even remember the last movie I saw. I get out alot, obviously. I also dont even watch them on tv, if I watch any tv atall, its discovery or history channel! *wub* *wub* I tell ya what though, as soon as I see a movie, ill make a B-line here and tell ya'll. Hows that. -
Im still waiting for any review on the assult tiger, the only set im actually interested in of the line :'-) However, this does look nice and all, the rubber two toned things dont suit me though. Ick. Green isnt my color either, but the new cockpit styles do look nice.
