  1. why not. they are tires, so they should be.
  2. sure thing, if this happens that i will do. @Zero (Zblj) i would love to help set up this contest, are you up for it?
  3. why didn't i think of that! i could do that first, and start the comp a few days later.
  4. I would make clear unchangeable rules, and a 4 week deadline. If I make a car, I might not enter it, just a pace car for all. And we could have a impartial member died decide whether or not something is allowed. How does that sound? That would be cheating IMO. Then it would also be very small and not real technic engineering.
  5. Small update: I integrated a parking brake into the gearbox channel, and the gearbox is 8x7 studs with supports.
  6. I will see what rules I will make it I do, but If I arrange this, can I participate? . I would like to make a car in a competition. @Zero (Zblj) could help me set it up, he thought of this idea.
  7. I actually think if @Zero (Zblj) doesnt want to arrange this, I might, but I don't have any prizes, but ideas.
  8. I have one, pm me. Yes, when third party elements are suggested it always becomes trouble. That is good, but whoever makes the contest should make the final decision. Whoever that is .
  9. I do, and the 42000 hubs. Good, have you tested if the joints pop out?
  10. Whoops, it does 2000 rpm, as lego says. That would be a cool idea to use one, geared down of course, in a car, instead of a buggy motor.
  11. That gets 20000 rpm, not much torque, so it should not be allowed.
  12. I will do the XL chassis then, do you have l motors?
  13. I can do the chassis, if that can be agreed apon. I am very good at chassis, I can make a rough one easily, and within a few days, a final chassis. @Zero (Zblj) what if 3 members could make a chassis, a XL, a L and a M chassis. I could do any one as I have a few of each motor. Chassis are my specialty.
  14. Ha, if they went fast enough, it would be 2 fast 2 electric . The plywood I could do, or just go by handling speed and creativity.
  15. I don't have a track nearby, and I want my location to stay hidden with no one to spy . I have a street that is long nearby, but no track.
  16. I already got a wheel idea, so i will we what fits.
  17. I try to refine with the car when I can, and I will get bursts of ideas, like the gearbox. I may not redesign the body, just redoing the chassis underneath intill I think it is good, and after that, a rc version. Thanks, the steering wheel is a easy change, I don't have the 8880 steering wheel yet, so I use a big pulley wheel sometimes. The Ie mans style wheel I can do, and add hydraulic lift jacks when my pneumatics arrive.
  18. UPDATE: new version with two speed + n+ p. the parking is done mechanically. the lever push on a gear to stop and ratchet it. To do: 1. add rear wing adjustment, using LA. 2. doors, worm+ gull wing. 3. body, aggressive. 4. hood+ storage, a trunk. 5. lights, and led area bonus. Done: 1. hog+ steering wheel. 2. engine. 3. gearbox, 2 speed. 4. park brake, not optimized. 5. suspension, double wishbone. 6. differential. 11 functions so far! maybe more if i find another to add. chassis 3.2: console. handbrake not installed here. self engineered 2 speed, my first good working gearbox! it was 2 speed for a low middle console and a manual lever. handbrake stopper. what do you think i should change?
  19. Yeah, problems happen. They can sometimes be fixed, but other times, not easy. I try to rebuild my chassis and test a.m.a.p. For these kind of problems. The hockey skate syrup is a good idea for a new company container, "skate syrup!" With added ice for coolness .
  20. www the 5l axle next to the 16t on the end the problem with the wheel rotation? Or the 5l with stop on the end in this pic? ?
  21. The claas! Wow! That is cheap, and what a steal @LvdH!
  22. Completely true, they are to be slippery, and have little drag, from downforce. The teams try to balance that using the bodywork in different ways. @allanp's idea is good, with the fact that motors need less gearing, so they are faster. I think the motor should be a 1.25:1 geared l motor for power exclusively for it. But the motor idea I suggested earlier may still work. The purist category is a good idea for those who own ir receivers (there are people including me) or certain motors. I think a lot of ideas suggested make a lot of sense to me, but this is not a contest yet, so keep the ideas coming. 1. Hmm, not sure. Maybe by a gearing X weight calculation? 2. I agree, but that should be just the max, not what it has to be, and what about the battery life problem, Kai the there will be a battery life rule, because motors use different power inputs. 3. I don't think so, unless you don't want to use a return to center system. 4. agreed 5. A car is a vehicle with four wheels, a steering wheel, pedals, a engine, and a body. And @Zero (Zblj) don't forget these are only ideas, so they can change by the host of the contest, and should be set in stone.
