  1. @LegoMonorailFan thank you! I'm a novice in photography - just bought my reflex Canon D700 a few months ago and took a course on product photography for the sake of improving the pics of the vinyl toys I design and paint, but applying what I've learn to my Lego pics is proving to be a great and fun experience @Littleworlds I absolutely love IT. That book, and the 90's TV adaptation are two of my favorite things in life, haha. So excited for the new movie...I watched the trailer while my hands were literally shaking from the excitement. It looks so damn good. The Stand - I have it in my shelf, ready to read as soon as I finish with The Dark Tower! My girlfriend actually stopped reading TDT after the fourth book and started reading it to get a better understanding of RF. Ok, here's another picture...Susan and Roland again, this time enjoying some time together while Rusher and Pylon graze peacefully. And also a little cross-over...is this that Maturin turtle you were talking about, Roland?? No, of course not!
  2. I actually love to read your lectures so don't worry I'm a Tower junkie after all! What you said totally makes sense. I mean, it's been a minute since he wrote the first ones so like you said, lots of stuff have been going on in SK's life. Heck, he even got hit by a car. I read this was an event that made him think seriously about finishing the series, just in case something ever happened to him. I also read that he got letters from people who were diagnosed with serious illnesses and even people who were sentenced to death, asking him if he could tell them what happened in the end...and of course he couldn't tell, as he had no clue either. And yep, he described the saga as a mix of the Man with No Name trilogy and The Lord of the Rings. I am already reading The Wind Through the Keyhole and loving it so far. Jake + Oy goodness all over. Gotte love these two. I already have the two you've mentioned and I know Hearts in Atlantis is related to Jake Chambers so I'll be reading them too. Ok, here's another picture...as you might know the movie is supposed to be released in Aug. 4th, but we still have no official trailer while other movies that are to be released way after do have one.
  3. I've heard about how people complained about the end of the saga, and how SK said he didn't give a flying about it...haha I'm really curious to see your MOCs! Please hurry and finish them! I have a more serious picture of the lobstrosity scene and I just need to edit it, but I've used Batman's lobster. I want to mix Lego's humour with The Dark Tower's themes and aesthetics as much as possible! Here's a new picture. The three baddies from book IV. The Big Coffin Hunters in all their glory!
  4. Wow! This is really amazing! You have my vote!
  5. Ugh you guys keep telling me the series fizzles out and I don't want to believe it I've read people say from IV on the saga is kinda different but not necessarily bad. I really want it to be good...I'm too attached to the ka-tet at this point, haha. But I don't wanna know much...I already ate a couple of spoilers and that's enough. Thanks for the kind words and I'm excited to see your MOC! I am also preparing a MOC involving the door but still don't have a clear idea and I have many pics I want to take befora that one. What piece are you using for the door? I searched thru all the door pieces on Bricklink and ended up buying this one (in brown color)
  6. Thank you! Unfortunately when responsabilities come up, it's so hard to find time to keep up with books and hobbies...sigh. I'm only reading the series because I spend 2 hours a day in the public transports to go to work and back home plus another 2 hours they give me to have lunch and rest a bit. Thanks, sai! Long days and pleasant nights to you :) I do feel lucky being able to read them all in one sit! I'm about to start The Wind Through the Keyhole. The Waste Lands is my favorite book so far but I'm hoping the rest of the series is good enough. You just scared me a bit! I really love all the characters and want the books to be good so desperately. You're almost at the Tower! I'm about to start The Wind Through the Keyhole. I wanted to read Wolves of the Calla but people told me to read TWTTK first. The movie...oh well, something stinks about it and I'm kinda worried. The fact that there's still no trailer even though the movie is supposed to be coming in early August...I don't know. We even have the trailer for IT, which is to be released in September! And speaking of the movie...I did this yesterday. Sorry for the crappy quality...I did it in a rush, More (and better) to come this week!
  7. Too bad Dimendions is going down. My mouth was watering with all the cool licenses, and I also thought they might bring new TLotR minifigs in the future, seeing they had released Legolas and Gimli. Oh well :(
  8. @Bob De Quatre thank you! I just started my own thread:
  9. Hi guys! I've been really into Stephen King's The Dark Tower series lately. So far I've read the first 4 books and I love this saga so much that I decided to start a LEGO project, customizing minifigs and recreating some scenes from the books, but also expanding it and introducing my own ideas and doing cross-overs with other characters from different universes, since TDT could allow that very well. For those who don't know, The Dark Tower mixes the old west with sci-fi and high tech stuff in a world where dimensions are connected by different portals. I am currently sharing my pics via Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr (@Lego_DarkTower if anyone feels like following) but I would love to get your sincere feedback as LEGO collectors, since in social media most of my followers are just fans of The Dark Tower. In order to avoid spoilers, I will share my pics inside the spoiler tag and tell to which book they belong: The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three The Dark Tower III: The Waste Lands The Dark Tower IV: Wizard and Glass The Dark Tower: EXTRAS The Dark Tower: Movie
  10. This is by far my favorite entry from the whole contest. While not the most complex, in my honest opinion it really catches the drama of a zombie apocalypse: the struggle to survive and the fear of losing the ones you love. Great work and good luck!
  11. Here's my two cents: A: 1 - 2 - 10 B: 4 - 2 - 5 C: 2 - 8 - 3 D: 11 - 9 - 5 I actually joined the forum on the 27th of February, so feel free to count my vote or not. I just wanted to share what my favorites are
  12. I can't believe we never got to see a Sauron minifig apart from the one in the Lego TLOTR videogames...
  13. I'm a little bit confused. I'd love to share some of my pics with you guys, but I don't know the right place or if we're allowed to create our own threads. Basically I am recreating some scenes and characters from Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" and would like to get your feedback but I don't know where I should post them. The novels are a mix of Western and Sci-Fi. Any advice? Thank you! EDIT: I apologize in advance if this question could have been solved by reading some specific post. I am kinda overwhelmed by the amount of important posts and forums and unfortunately I can barely find the time to post a bit every day
  14. Ha! I am one of FicZone's organizers! I was at the Artists Alley, which is the area I organize. I've been battling with my partners to include a Lego zone for years...now that the event is getting big I should insist more!
  15. I'm really enjoying this side of the forum. So many people who love zombies like I do, and so many nice MOCs and cool characters!
  16. Really good! Damn I need to share my own survivors too!
  17. Thanks to my work I travel to Asia (especially Japan and Taiwan) at least once a year, but it never seems enough, so I'd say Japan! I've only visited Tokyo, so I would love to visit a more rural place to get a totally different experience.
  18. Thanks for helping me identify that hair piece, @cebelicamya! Actually I knew that Pretzel Girl hair piece, but I thought the one in the pic was another one with just one pigtail! The angle of the picture tricked my eye... I need the perfect hair piece to make this girl (Susan Delgado from The Dark Tower) and I'm currently using Elsa's hairpiece but I feel like I could use a better one. I wish they would make this hair piece in bright yellow. This one is not bad but it's not available in yellow neither... By the way! if you look at the pics we got from the Ninjago movie books, looks like we'll be getting my favorite hair piece (this one) in black! One of the female villains has it, but she wears it moved to the side.
  19. Hola Jaime! Bienvenido al foro! I might have seen you in Granada I guess. You guys have been around here a few times, right?
  20. You did a good job translating all these characters into minifigs! I'd love to see that Steamboat Willie's Mickey being a real minifig. Oogie looks great, too. I agree that Winnie should have short legs, though maybe it wouldn't look THAT bad with normal legs once made into a real minifig.
  21. Love love love this thread and I appreciate you taking the time to keep it updated. I do check it regularly when I'm thinking of making a new character for my The Dark Tower project, and it's super useful cause with just a quick look I can see if the character is do-able or there's no hair that resembles the one from the illustrations. Oh guys, can you help me find this blonde female hair piece on Bricklink? I can't seem to find it. I went through all the hairpieces but didn't see this one, maybe because it looks different from the front and I don't notice it... P.S: Can't wait to see the new Ninjago hairpieces from the movie sets. They all seem very useful!
  22. That Hammerhead Shark Mech looks so glorious! I'm super excited for this movie and it's sets. Especially looking forward to getting all the ninjas and their new hair pieces.
  23. It's funny how perception works. Most people are disappointed by the highwayman, but to me it's one of the best minifigs in the series because of his darker looks! Is that cape that folds on his chest new? I don't recall seeing it before, but it might just be that I don't own any minifig with one yet. Since I saw the silhouette I didn't expect anything else than what we've seen now. I mean, I couldn't see it being anything else...and when someone suggested it could have different colorways I was skeptical. The silhouette was pretty clear and being a highwayman, only dark colors would make sense so having color variations would not appeal enough. I think the only reason TLG made it a mystery was to have people like us talking about it for weeks. Just to build some hype. You might love it or hate it, but we've all been wondering what it could be, discussing and looking forward to finally seeing the mystery unveil. So it kinda worked, didn't it? I can totally see them doing this again, and probably with more than one minifig per series...
  24. Really cool looking zombie hunters! I really dig how you made that harpoon!
  25. Personally I'm all hyped. It DOES look like a Bloodborne hunter
