No. It is not GBC ball. Maybe size will similar but has stud size hole on bottom. Simple module like stepper will be safe to use but complex module will have problem.

That part is not normal GBC ball. It has stud size hole on bottom for fit on minifig's hand or can work as minifig's head part.

It will be a trophy figure like apollo saturn but still very suprised to me because it is tehcnic set.
