  1. As much as I don’t want to get into this disagreement again, all JK was talking about was the erasure of women as a concept and as a biologically distinct class, with different needs than men(abortion, period care, women having substantially higher rates of being victims of domestic abuse, etc etc) and the march forward of self-ID. She was saying she had a problem with non- biological women being allowed into women’s shelters and prisons, because of clear biological differences, such as strength and, well, you know. That’s why Lego standing on a certain side is clearly political. I think it’s great that Lego is showing the diversity of people’s orientations - but I wish it was just in City sets, where kids could have two dads, rather than this set. It’s a money-grab and extremely political. But that’s my opinion. EDIT: Just wanna say, I’m not disparaging your identity, just having a discussion! If you feel offended we can finish here.
  2. Maybe that’s what you think, but a heck of a lot of other people will see what Lego is really saying. Do you remember when JK said all women have periods and Lego replied with ‘we support diversity in all its forms etc etc’. That sure wasn’t supporting JK, and if you look at it cynically, it was supporting the other side. (Also: I respect you, and I don’t want you to feel I’m attacking you, I just want to have a discussion.)
  3. I think the reason why people are saying this set is political because this is Lego clearly taking a side in the trans culture war, on which there are varying opinions such as on self-ID and whether self-ID is a substitute for born sex.
  4. I wish they had faces
  5. How do we know about Tutankhamun?
  6. They’re cool!
  7. Love it!
  8. Birds of Paradise is strange. After the colours and general awesomeness of the flowers in January I wasn’t expecting this rather dry, subtle set.
  9. I must be the only person who’s happy about this, saying that I always wanted the Taj Mahal Creator expert set but wasn’t going to shell out £200+ for it. It’s a nice set, though I hope skylines come back soon!
  10. I suppose . Back on topic I agree it’s be nice to see some non-princessy mini dolls, like some good Mulan, Pocahontas sets
  11. There aren’t boys’ sets anymore, or at least I’d hope not.
  12. This discussion is pretty dead saying that all the pics have been released! All a bit meh apart from the hotel, in my opinion, and even that will have to wait until there’s interior photos.
  13. Wait the stage folds into a beatbox?!?!?! That is the awesomest thing. I love the pirate ship too. Great wave, even if there are a lot of recoloured moles. Glad to see the first series of beatbits is still being used so it’s possible to get them all.
  14. That was a sudden official release on Facebook!
  15. So, so worth it, especially if you’re a big Potter fan. There are so many tiny details and the build has some incredible techniques.
  16. Pretty disappointed to be honest. Old-style, out of place green roofs and sparse interiors in the Hogwarts sets with a great Chamber of Secrets locked behind a mediocre Hogwarts at a ridiculous price. The buildable Harry and Hermione are not what I expected and better for it. Fawkes looks pretty good. The chess set: does anyone know if Ron can sit on the knight as he does in the movie? Because if so that’s pretty cool. Hogsmeade has a fun Honeydukes but the Three Broomsticks is meh.
  17. Yeah!! I would love a harp, a proper drum set, a cello and some more electric guitars.
  18. I really like it, preordered the whole set of figs and bought three beatboxes. The app is pretty fun as well. The one problem is the price for the beatboxes, as has been discussed many many times.
  19. Tell us what the answers are!
  20. I’m confused, is Daredevil in the CMF or a set? Also if we get Daredevil I hope we get Foggy!
  21. I’m pretty sure that you’ve got to support before it reaches the 3000 pre-orders
  22. Yeah the projects have been removed; apparently because he licensed his builds for a competitor. Source: https://www.thebrickfan.com/former-bricklink-design-program-projects-sold-by-clone-company/
  23. For me it’s Quest Builder and that looks like it’ll be pretty expensive so probably just that.
  24. As you probably know, 28 previously rejected Lego ideas sets have been brought back on a crowdfunding basis under the bricklink designer program. Which bricklink designer program sets are you going to definitely back? (It would be good if someone could add a poll here but for now please just reply). Here’s the link to the program: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/introducing.page
