Does anyone know if engines like the Emerald Night or others with bigger wheels and long base run through these switches OK. I am looking out for a cheap one at the moment but they are a fortune on Bricklink.

OK I give up. I've tried Googling it. What actually is a Transfer Caboose used for? It seems all I can find is that it some sort of Guards-Van with platforms at each end. So why is it in some way different from any other guards van and what are the platforms for? There are many links that have pictures of them and go on to describe what they look like but nothing that I can find that points out what the tranfer caboose does that the normal guards-van does not? Apart from that, your MOC looks good and does have a lot of similar features to the ones in the pictures I've seen. On a personal note I would prefer SNOT, bit I do agree with you that in this particular case for the competion it is better to be left like it is. It would not be that hard to SNOTify it if someone wanted to. But a good job of representing this wagon.

Invitation to Minifigure Questionnaire
Hrw-Amen replied to bartneck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes an awful lot of them, a counter would have been useful as they seemed to go on forever. I found quite a few that I wanted an option to say they just looked neutral as though they were just going about their business and neither happy/sad or anything just indifferent. But there was not an option for that. -
It seems like a good idea. I think they would only need to produce the minifigures in white to be paintable? I think there was a Beanie Baby a few years back with a similar concept as well, in fact I know there was as I've got it in a box somewhere. You could use all manner of things to colour it but GW paints are pretty good and I use them a lot (Mainly on my GW figures.)I know alot of people think they are over priced but personnaly I find them the best for this sort of thing. However I am sure Lego could make its own paints as I cannot see them needing such a vast array of colours and people in the main would probably just stick to basics and not worry about blending, inks, rust and all that stuff. But generally, yes I'd like to give that a go if they made some suitable at a reasonable price.

What happens when the world runs out of petroleum?
Hrw-Amen replied to brickmack's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In fact thinking about it, some people get made into diamonds when they go. Could be the start of a new business venture for Lego branching out into funeral market. Some of us are not getting any younger after all! -
Um, that looks huge! How big is it? Looks good.

They will have to start melting down all those cheap knock off brands and use the material to make the proper thing! On a more miserable note with all this talk of dying, maybe some day you will be oil and made into Lego? Perhaps come back as a minifig? -
Interesting way of doing the sink in the bathroom. I had not thought of that myself. It does look very semi like I have to say. I like the window, you are right that is so typical of that style of house. What is the cat's name, is he friendly?

The skeleton with the guitar made me chuckle.

I have been thinking of this having just fitted one to a railway station I am making. I thought about just having a 1X2 brick to put in front of it holding a short technic axle in place, then move it to turn the light off. Not very elegant but all I could think of. Does anyone know how long the battery will last for in the light brick if it is left on, will it die very quickly or last a few hours?

Nice station, I like all the clutter and stuff on the platforms, makes it look very lived in and used.

How about a little baskett on a winch underneath with some workmen painting or repairing it. A bit like on the Forth Bridge. (Which I understand is finishing soon.)

Looks interesting, nice shapr to it. Is it designed to just hover like a speeder or to fly high? Any shots with the pilot in it?
-
Very nice tower and scene. A great trackside accessory.

It is a good start. But yes, I agree MOCing with out a good brick selection is not so much fun, more frustrating. Don't be put off by Bricklink, it looks complicated but really it is not. I only started using it earlier this year and it was daunting until you get into it then it is simple. Really you don't need to bother looking at most of the options. What I did was choose a supplier that looked good for a test run and just made a small order first. Once I was satisfied then I ordered some more. Now I have about half a dozen sellers I use regularly and that I know give a good service.

Oh I see. I did not realise that they were at different heights. I thought you had a new cross over rail there and wondered where it had come from. Thanks anyway.

Very nice, I like the furniture very much. Which city is this outside?
-
Always nice to see a monorail in action. Can I ask in your video at the 28 second point, there is a section of track showing, (The normal railway lines not the monorail.) which is a crossover but it is at a shallow angle that I have not seen before. Do you have any part number or reference for this part or indeed any close up photos of it please?

I have to agree, white looks good. Any side shots so we can see more detail?
-
Ah yes, I remember seeing those sort of coffee shops in Amsterdam many years ago, not that I attended any of them ever, but I have walked past them.

OK, tried that but don't seem to have the relevant folder? I am using Windows 7 Home Edition and have openned my user ID but there is nothing in there about the LDD programme? I have tried looking for the 'show hidden' box under 'view' in the options but I don't seem to even have that as an option coming up? Strange I know it used to be there when I had Windows XP, but since having Windows 7 I've never had to look before. It does not seem to be giving me any information about any programmes at all in any way or form and I cannot find a folder in explorer with any in it? Any ideas?
-
This is no doubt a stupid question to those who know the answer, but I do not and have just given up looking for it. I see lots of trains on here designed in LDD. I have LDD installed on my PC. Hoever when I go into it I do not have an option to get many of the bricks needed for trains. For example there are no train wheels or buffers? Obviously as people have these in their own designs there must be a way around this but I just cannot find out what it is. Maybe someone could help me?

Very nice, I do agree that 7 stud wide is the way to go. I also like the underneath details you have added.

Quite an entertaining tale. Will this be enacted at the wedding or is a power point presentation? How exactly is it done?
